《Re:Direction The Peak (Cultivation Tale)》CH. 203

The mass kept on coming down under the gazes of not only the progenitors but also the experts in the grand hall. In particular, Cao Lei was having a mad fit of laughter. Nothing was better than to fuck up Hae-Hyuk's plans to him. And this was particularly enjoyable as he could see a monstrosity he brought in deal this devastating blow. Admittedly, after what he showed, this Jin had been quite a worthy champion with the necessary qualifications to come up. As such, it felt even better to see him forced to end his journey here.
Cao Lei turned towards Hae-Hyk, planning to gloat further. He was shocked by what he saw. Hae-Hyuk had his eyes closed. Ever since Min-Su finished his own battle outstandingly, he didn't bother watching anything else. Cao Lei couldn't help asking him: "Aren't you interesting in the fate of your second champion?"
Hae-Hyuk didn't even seem to care as he stated: "Only one needs to win in my stead"
Cao Lei shook as his goal couldn't be attained and he screamed at Hae-Hyuk: "Do you not even care?!"
Hae-Hyk, eyes closed behind his blindfold, smiled as he answered: "Do I need to care about which of them wins?"
Cao Lei snickered: "Right. As if the other one would be any better"
Hae-Hyuk didn't bother answering and while many were leisurely gossiping behind, none talked to him. He found it weird and went on to see Min-Su's battle. It was already finished but he could always rewind his screen to check. And he got a distasteful surprise. The kid ended up faced against the monster puppet activated by the shadow tiger. Since Cao Lei knew that Min-Su qualified already, there was no suspense in the result. He was, however, interested in how it happened. And ended up shocked.

Due to his taboo, Min-Su could send his body into an alternate reality, making most attacks ineffective, especially the physical ones. And this puppet monster was specialized in physical damage. The issue was that the puppet couldn't deal any damage to Min-Su. And, as if knowing its fate, the puppet stopped and bowed, waiting for the end.
Instead, however, Min-Su made use of the fact that the puppet was alive through beast cores.
He tamed it.
Cao Lei shook. That puppet was definitely a strong entity on its own but now, it belonged to another champion as a tamed beast? A champion that was already proven to be quite mighty?! Hae-Hyuk's champion?! He was incredibly angry yet had no place to vent his anger. In the end, he decided to go back to the fight of the corrupted being. Watching the second champion of this bastard Hae-Hyuk die would relieve his frustration. At least, some of it.
...
The battle was still heated over there in the arena. The vapor emitted from the purification of the mass of corruption began to accumulate. As for Jin, he was in a terrible shape. The first thing to break was his right leg. He ended kneeling down as crevasses began to appear all over the ground around him. Then, it was the left leg. He was down on his knees yet still spinning his spear and fully focused on controlling his spiritual energy channel, pulsing elements out of the right rings continuously at a stable pace, maintaining the umbrella.
The tenacity he showed, even considering the use of the calmness and focus, was something awe-inspiring. Many of the experts nodded in approval while many more shook their heads sighing: "What a shame that such a good seed would fall here!"
They weren't like Jin who didn't know how much mass or existence left there were. In fact, even as remnants, they had impressive abilities when it came to viewing things. And they could easily tell. There was no way for Jin to purify the entire mass. Let's not talk about existence, he was simply not strong enough in his technique for this thing to happen. It was certainly adding to the damage from the purification but it wasn't enough. As such, many experts felt sad. There were of course some who cheered on the corrupted being though there were fewer.

One of those beings laughed as he spoke arrogantly: "This is corruption! I say, does any of you dare to bet with me on the outcome?!"
He was someone well-known for having used the corruption element itself millennials ago and one of the figures responsible for it becoming banned. Obviously, he would cheer on for the elemental being since the element itself brought his true self a lot of blessings in his life.
The fact that he was only willing to bet now that the result was clear was quite shameless though. But why should he care? He was not a man known for his dignity. He had done this solely to boast, never expecting an answer, but there was one from the back.
"I'll bet all the years I have"
Everyone turned around to see one of the oldest remnants. It belonged to a woman whose beauty couldn't be described. Even in this cultivation world where all experts regained their peak physical appearances, she was incomparable. Her existence itself mesmerized the onlookers.
As he saw her walk out, he glared at her. He knew her well. They belonged to the same age period. Still, even though he hated her, he was glad to see her at this moment.
As remnants, there was only one thing they had. A duty that was also a privilege. The possibility of sharing their teachings with the next generations. For every century spent here, those remnants earned a quota of a year. This was the time they were allowed to spend teaching the next generations.
Even if one didn't see a single good seedling in a few centuries, there would always end up being one worth investing in and they generally went all in on those lucky fellas. Still, it had been quite some time since she took part. He didn't even consider how much she had and answered:
"Alright then, all you have on Jin and all I have on this corrupted being. Everyone here shall be witness"
She smiled without answering and turned her gaze towards the battle.
