《Re:Direction The Peak (Cultivation Tale)》CH. 17

They finished their meals and went out. The little girl asked him what he planned to do next and he answered that he was going to go home to start creating his core. The little girl seemed a little disappointed but brightened up again as he told her " see you next time "
He reached his house after a small run. He had already understood and acknowledged the fact that he would need to run from one place to another from here on out. He didn't mind it, it helped his cardio. As he reached the house, he noticed two people chatting leisurely at a table in the adjacent garden. Seemed like his neighbour in the well-decorated house had a friend for after-meal tea. There was one woman and one man chatting.
As he noticed them, they had already sensed him some time ago. The woman waved at him and said: "Hey there new neighbour! Come join us!"
In the end, he couldn't just ignore his neighbour...Who knew how long they would live next to each other? Also, he didn't want to create himself problems here. He didn't care that much in the outer sect as they feared his status but here? He was the lowest of the low. It was better to play it humble.
So, he walked to the frontyard, entered and greeted them: " Nice to meet you both, I'm Jin, I live in the house next door " to which they answered leisurely: " I'm your neighbour, Han-Bi~ No need to be polite between us, just relax~" said the woman and " I'm Sang-Min, from the next house there~ Come, take a seat, little brother Jin "
Both of them seemed to be quite laxed about things and Jin didn't mind it. He took a seat at the table and Han-Bi poured him a tea. She looked to be a young adult and was, like all the inner sect cultivators he saw up till now, beautiful. A perfectly shaped face, bountiful lips and incredible smile. Her eyes were a deep blue that went very well with her dark air. She was sitting so he couldn't be sure but she was likely the proud owner of a magnificient hourglass body shape.

The man was handsome. Like all others around here. He was a young adult as well. A face that screamed playboy with deep green eyes and short brown hair styled upwards and to the side. He seemed to have a fit and atheltic build. Likely a guy who could get girls easily.
Either way, Jin understood one thing from the fact they were young and lived here. They were from the last batch to be promoted. It wasn't an incredible discovery as it might be obvious but it was still important to be aware of it. As Jin was offered a tea and gratefully accepted it, both of his hosts noticed the golden fist. Their hunch had been right. There were no other ways for a new disciple to be sent to the inner sect.
After that, while he sipped on the tea, which he found very delightful, they sensed him. While it was rude to do so to a fellow cultivator, they didn't quite care since it was obvious he was weaker. That being said, they were quite surprised at the fact that he was a mortal. This meant that, as a mortal, he defeated five second grade of refinement... Worthy of the golden fist alright.
They looked at each other and nodded. There was no reason to be bitches to someone with potential. It was better to befriend the kid. Since they were neighbours too, and would be for years, it was the right thing to do. The guy asked Jin " So, little brother Jin, you arrived yesterday, right? Welcome to our sect " and the woman added a "Welcome~" with a melodious voice. Jin nodded " I did. Thank you. "
The woman smiled as she asked him " You must be quite strong for your age then? " and she knew the answer already. They all did to be fair. Jin had a freaking golden fist pinned on his robe after all. But he knew it was just being polite during a first meeting so he answered expectedly " I knew a bit and was fortunate "

He decided to remain humble yet not too much either. It was something both older disciples instantly noticed and liked. After that, they chatted idly about things without much important meaning. Like whose new paintings were great, who became an elder and so on... Jin just listened while they brough him into the conversation from time to time, trying to have him open up. Which he seemed to do.
After an hour or so, they both seemed satisfied and the man got up as he said he would go cultivate. Jin took the cue and bid his goodbye to both as well. As they had enjoyed spending time with the kid, they told him he could always come ask them questions if he had any. As they were his seniors in cultivation, those words had weight.
He was now back in his new house and more than ready to start. It was finally time! Oh, how he had been holding it in until now! He could finally start his road on cultivation obviously! What else could it have been anyway?
And so, he opened a cardboard box hurriedly. He took out a candle. It looked like a very average candle. White with a dark filament. He placed it on the floor and that's when a problem arose.
How was he supposed to light it?
He had no lighter and didn't think there were any in this world. At least he had never seen any. Maybe there was something to light them in the boxes... He spent some time upturning the boxes in search of something to light the candle. But there were no results to speak of. In the end, he sat down with empty eyes with a candle he couldn't light.
