《Re:Direction The Peak (Cultivation Tale)》CH. 9

Jin was brought up onto the disk once again but this time not for a fight. A silver robed elder and everyone else was in it too. The disk floated and went beyond the gate. The silver robed elder explained: "It's a pain to open such a big door every single time so we generally use those disks" to which they all nodded. It didn't seem practical either ways but whatever suited them. Jin didn't really care about any of that management kind of talks.
He was more interested in looking at the sect itself. There were far more buildings than he first thought when the gate opened and the statues, still distant, were even more imposing. The fact that you could see the details out of them was quite incredible. Especially from this distance.
One of the silver-robed elders saw his interest and spoke with a gentle smile: "Those are the statues of our Sect leaders with the central one...This one...being the one of our founder. It is also where the headquarters of the Sect are. Though only Elders and core disciples are allowed in this kind of area"
Interesting. That was what Jin thought. Having such a statue erected of one was an accomplishment worthy of bragging in the afterworld. He wanted to have one of him erected one day...Maybe a few? No, no need to go thinking too far, there were more pressing matters.
As they descended from the disks, the silver robed elder disbanded the examinators after promising them their share of resources from participating. It seemed like this had been a voluntary mission. It was good to witness it right away as it showed how one could get more resources. Jin nodded at the idea of undertaking missions to be rewarded for the work. These were the basics. And it was good that the work involved fighting. There were no such works back in his world, or they were childish and far from real, made more to entertain the masses.

As he was still in deep thoughts, the little girl walked up to him. She was mere centimeters away as she looked straight at him. She asked: " What's your name?" and he answered simply " Jin " since it was the truth and it seemed like mostly everyone was curious about it. Then, she smiled with a sheepish grin and told him: " I'm Soo Hyun! Remember it, Jin! I will be the one to defeat you! " to which he answered carelessly " Sure "
It seemed to satisfy the girl as she skipped away already thinking about beating her new rival. Too bad for her, she wasn't recognized by this so-called rival. In fact, Jin didn't even care to remember her name. He said his name then didn't listen and just answered whatever. Just like the other kid, he wasn't putting her in his eyes. She had good battle sense but he did not feel like she would amount to that much.
At that time, the elders were grinning at each other and one of the silver-robed ones coughed before addressing the very small group of successful challengers. There was less than a dozen and only Jin managed to get the five-win streak. The others were allowed to join as outer disciples. The silver robed elder spoke mostly to them: " Now, all of you, new outer disciples will follow me while I lead you to your new dorm. Once again, we welcome you as our little brothers and sisters " to which the kids cheered. They happily followed the elder.
Only Jin was left and the other elder put his hand on his shoulder. Still smiling gently, he told him: " Follow me, little brother Jin, I will take you to the inner sect "
And so, he followed silently behind the elder. They walked through rows upon rows of houses, for close to an hour. Then, they reached some sort of white fencing. The elder walked to a door in the fencing where a few other elders in the same robes were leisurely chatting together. They saw him arrive with a kid and couldn't help themselves. They had to ask who it was.

That's when Jin was introduced to four new elders in such a way: "This is little brother Jin who succeeded the five streak challenge, I am taking him to fetch the inner robes "
Surprised and respect-filled glances were directed his way. To him, these people were likely not much in the hierarchy since they guarded a one-meter-tall fence but they remained elders and higher-ranked than a newcomer like him. Mostly, they were stronger too. So, he bowed slightly and introduced himself politely. They nodded with appreciation, opened the little gates and wished him well.
The difference in housing was clear. The fence was separating outer and inner court after all. And the outrageous lifestyle was clearly demonstrated here. Every disciple in the outer range was to share a house with five others. But in the inner circle? They had a house for themselves. According to the elder leading him, the core disciples had an entire mansion filled with servants to themselves. But there were no more than a hundred of those, the best of the best, and more often than not, they didn't stay long over there before they became elders. Core Elders mind you. Not like the one leading Jin who was apparently an Outer Elder.
The houses were similar to the ones from the outer area but had more vibrant depictions of suns and brilliant artworks. Apparently, the owners could decorate however they liked it and some were handmade by the occupants themselves. Art seemed to be a side occupation to many cultivators. Jin did not plan to dabble in the topic but he did enjoy the sights. He didn't have to be an artist to enjoy a beautiful painting of the setting sun on a wall.
This new home of his was already bringing him smiles as he walked through the area. It was a clean, calm and beautiful place. Very good to spend time on pursuing the pinnacle of martial arts...or partaking in brawls.
Where you fought did matter.

No pressure. Rival Dominions vie for power, and they are all far larger and more organized than Jake’s rag-tag group of women, but he has two advantages: the rules of this world are eerily similar to those of Fantasy Tactics Online, and his wildest dirtiest sexual fantasies act as a power multiplier for his all-female army.
