A surge of irritation hit Lucifer as he saw Ahri's "caught" expression, as if she was doing something wrong. This was only further worsened by the obvious hostility from the Foxman.
The tank greeted the two new arrivals and introduced his group, he was Olen, the less skilled swordsman as Jeremy and the Foxman as Diaz or something which Lucifer wasn't paying attention to.
Olen missed Lucifer's glance towards their hiding companion and simply left out her existence, whether this was because she didn't intend to meet anyone or they didn't trust Lucifer he couldn't tell, he bet on the latter and his opinion of this group dropped a few more points.
Diaz spoke softly to Ahri "who is this man to you" as politely as he possibly could, but anyone with any social experience would recognize the obvious venom in his tone, Ahri, however, was lacking such experience and naively replied, "he's my... --umm".
Olen turned away from the confused girl and jokingly asked "so Lucifer is it"emphasizing to make it obvious they knew the name he gave earlier was false, but he didn't care either way. Plenty of adventurers change their names, or at least use different ones in the field.
By this point, Ahri was already blushing as she tried to figure out her complicated relationship status with Lucifer. Diaz's cheek was twitching and his hands kept unconsciously clenching and unclenching, he turned to Lucifer and suddenly exploded "HOW DARE A FILTHY HUMAN DEFILE A NINE TAILED FOX, I I CAN SMELL IT ON YOU"
The human of the group looked towards Diaz with surprise which was quickly replaced with scorn, noone could tell what expression Selenia had behind her helm, but Lucifer only chuckled in response and started to turn, intending to leave this idiot behind.
Diaz growled "that's right you better leave, someone like you isn't worthy of her", along with several other things, but the moment those words left his lips Lucifer couldn't hear him, or anything else.

Previously
Lucifer stood in an extravagant ballroom full of well-dressed people gazing scornfully at a young man confronted by people his own age, they continued hurling insults towards the man in the middle, but he knew they wanted him to react so he endured the humiliation because he had something important to protect.
Similar scenes flashed past Lucifers mind, they all felt surreal, as if they happened to someone else, someone else desperately fought against society to keep his fiance, someone else continued enduring those schemes, someone else found his rare moments of peace in the embrace of that monster... someone else was betrayed.
------------------------------------------------------------
Selenia and Ahri both shivered, they could feel their connection to Lucifer tremble, they didn't know what was happening, but they could feel their blood boiling, breaths became deeper and chaotic.
Selenia riped her sword from its sheath splitting it in the process and Ahri found barely controlled magic at her fingertips ready to explode into action.
The group was startled by the woman's sudden reaction and raised their weapons in response.
Diaz was about to ask Ahri what was wrong when he heard an explosion behind him, he twisted on his heel and was met with bloodshot eyes inches from his own.
Lucifer gave a guttural growl with his pure mana enhanced voice and it instantly tore his vocal cords to pieces, sounding something inhuman that sent the group into fight or flight mode.
Diaz didn't even have time to use his sword before a screaming bundle of rage smashed his skull apart with its own. The group witnessed what was previously known as the man Lucifer, with a caved in skull and mana burns disintegrated large portions of his body, open his mouth larger than it should physiologically go, then his previously blue mana burns flashed to a sickly green along with Diaz's body.

Moments later a copy of what Diaz's intact body looked like emerged from his broken corpse, the others looked on horrified as something instinctual inside them screamed danger like they had never felt before. The copy was then slowly absorbed into Lucifer's body.
Meanwhile, Selena and Ahri were in a daze, unable to escape from the torrent of uncontrolled rage that filled them, Lucifer's strange show woke them and there was only one thought that fit in their minds, "They are the enemy"
Ahri was the first to react, she launched herself towards the most heavily armored man Olen, Diaz may have hesitated before hitting Ahri, but he didn't have such qualms. Olen turned on his heel and used his full mana infused strength to slam his shield into the shrieking madwoman.
Cracks resounded in the camp and he wasn't sure whether they were from the woman or the shield, the last shred of courage left him after he felt the impact from the shield reverberate up his arm. No sane person would willingly throw themselves at a solid object like that and not even block. A small dagger lodged in his side proof of his enemies recklessness.
Olen turned to run, calling out retreat to his allied, but only finding empty air where they should have been, his heart tightened a little more as he sprinted into the darkness.
A dozen steps into his retreat he heard the buzz of a blade cutting through the air and turned around to deflect a long sword. Olen had almost forgotten this elaborately armored woman was with Lucifer.
Selenia madly swung her blade towards her armored foe, but every time she swung her attack would be easily deflected, this only served to anger her further if that was possible and caused her to attack in a frenzy.
Olen desperately fended off her attacks as the small chips in his shield were growing larger, he knew that whatever her sword was made from, it would soon make scrap of his tower shield, so in a last-ditch effort, he put his weight into a deflection in an attempt to throw her wide.
Blade contacted shield and sparks flew, her crazy attack was forced to pull her along, Olen twisted and used his full strength to smash his mace against her front hand.
He roared in triumph when he felt the thud of impact and just as he was about to dash in to finish his disarmed enemy, he found the sword still firmly grasped in his enemies hands.
While he was once again deadlocked by his enemies vicious attacks, he questioned how it was possible to hold onto a weapon after such an attack, he noticed that only a few fingers on her gauntlet were collapsed and leaking a mix of blood and flesh. Olen cursed the enemies smith as he fought.
What he didn't notice was the pale green light he originally fled from was no longer there.
The last thing he heard was a whet stomp before he was grabbed by two intolerably strong limbs and torn kicking and screaming in two.

A Portal Fantasy Comedy Poem
Mix an adolescent shepherd boy in love with a girl who wants to meet existentialists, a Viscount in need of an adventure, and a bland psychic. Add in a flippant god. Put them in a land made up of the after-lives of various different cultures. Stir gently. Sprinkle in some random Midgard Serpent, Genghis Khan, Scheherazade, and a cussing mocking bird. Fry lightly. Season to taste and serve with desired garnishes. Bon apetit! A comic fantasy poetic epic, filled with misfits, slapstick routines, light romance, people shouting out the names of their battle skills before using them, old philosopher dudes running around naked, a very serious lamb, demonic knitting, battery operated magic swords and even more traumatising stuff! I experimented with different styles in the beginning and finally settled on an ABABBCBC rhyme scheme (Give me your 0.5s. Gimme, gimme, gimme. I'm collecting them, seriously)
