Salenia watched the wyvern with two people sitting on top it fly over the horizon, she recognised the old mage to be the Arcane University's leader and was about to attack him when he mentioned 'talking to a dungeon', but once she thought of how powerful the man in front of her was she reconsidered, that and strange connection she felt towards the ordinary girl still sitting on the Wyvern gave her pause.

Salenia checked her with different types of vision and found the woman's mana pool to be slightly larger than a few archmages she had seen earlier which was quite surprising considering her age, once she switched to thermal vision she was given another shock, the womans facial structure was completely different when she looked at it through thermal vision, Salenia could not tell what she looked like exactly because of her inexperience in seeing in this way, but she could tell that the woman hiding her face was as beautiful as herself, enough so that even she would admit it.

After they left Selenia put away her blade and continued further northeast, several hours passed and she came upon a small village, fields littered the area the walls wherever the ground was relatively flat and free of large rocks too large for a small village to move, a wooden wall made of rotting logs surrounded the village offering a small amount of defence against magical beasts or other animals, Selenia cycled her vision and spotted several guards patrolling the fields while the farmers worked.

These guards were simple villagers who had trained a little to raise their mana pool or were born naturally stronger, they wore the same clothes as the farmers with leather armour only covering their vital areas which were dyed red, most likely the only colour they could dye their cloth with the abundance of Asua berries nearby.

They carried simple spears that had either a sharpened tip or a stone head if they were lucky causing Selenia to frown, there seemed to be only three or four guarding the village and one of them was missing an arm, Selenia started walking towards the village attracting the gazes of everyone working the fields.

She ignored the amazed gazes and walked straight through the open gate and frowned again at the negligence of the guards even if they were mostly for show, once inside her expression only worsened at the sight of the village's interior, buildings were in disrepair only the stone buildings were fully intact, one the village elders and the largest building was the church, the people were worse off than the buildings, she noticed the same lifeless expression on everyone's faces and their thin frames.

Farmers were usually thin with wire like muscles, but not this thin and Selenia had seen similar conditions several times in the past and knew what it usually meant, her anger reached its peak when she saw the village children just sitting in a circle doing nothing with lifeless expressions instead of playing happily, she rarely saw it get bad enough that even the children lost hope and the will to play and fool around.

She almost took the door off the hinges when she barged into the village elders house, the village elder turned around after the loud noise and was immediately surprised by the person who appeared, clearly intimidated by the beautiful plate armor the person in front of him wore and stuttered "m-my lord, what brings you to my humble village".

"I am not your Lord" she replied causing surprise on his face before she continued, "what is the Lord of these lands doing" a little louder than she intended.

"excuse me" he timidly replied.

"forget it, where are the bandits that have been stealing your crops," asked Selenia feeling exasperated.

he flinched then replied "I don't know what your talking ab--"

"I'm an adventurer tasked with killing all the bandits in the area, either you tell me where they are or I guess my team should just wait out front of the gates in ambush", she did not like to threaten the innocent man but trying to get the information normally would take too long.

After hearing that he got onto his knees and begged "please don't if they see we asked for help they will kill more people, just go back wherever you came fro--", he suddenly stopped talking when she started unsheathing her sword, the blood quickly drained from his face before he finally relented "they are to the southeast on a plateau just next to the river's waterfall, you can't miss it they are always loud enough at night to wake up the entire valley"

Salenia turned to leave and just as she was before the door she said "the bandits will retire tonight, however, your problems won't stop there, a dungeon opened recently to the south right next to the border, this place will become a battlefield sooner or later, or if your lucky only more bandits will show up to replace the retired ones and they will be former soldiers, then you can only pray that your village is too small to sate their appetite. If you value the lives of your people I suggest you move the village further north into lands with a lord that gives a damn about you... if you can find one", then she left without waiting for a response.

Once she was back outside the village she wondered if they would actually move and wondered about the dungeon she was talking about a moment ago, the University leader seemed to think it was okay... or was crazy if he wanted me to talk to it, crazy seemed more likely the more she thought about it, she couldn't figure out how she was connected to the dungeon so maybe the mage was missing a few marbles like so many of them did.

She felt a pinch in her heart when she suddenly remembered Lucky, she didn't like the little trickster at the start but grew fond of her anyway, she liked how the little fairy said what she thought with a sometimes annoying amount of honesty, Selenia could not think of many people who were actually honest to her without any ulterior motives, the image of a floating stone that gave a gentle glow flashed past her mind before thoughts of Lucky filled her mind again, Salenia sighed and hoped the revival went well if the dungeon was okay.

A plateau came into view as night began to set in, smoke could be seen drifting into the sky and the edges of the plateau glowed a soft orange from the fires, Selenia probably could have found these bandits if she was blind with the amount of noise they were making, she could hear people yelling joyfully, glass breaking and even small explosions occasionally.

Salenia found a decent tree and climbed onto a comfortable branch to wait for the opportune moment.
