Listening to another Lecture

Calculating my chances for spontaneous combustion,

Praying for a sign from above

or below.

Gaze fixated on Albert Einstein,

pondering existence of hair products in that ERA.

Eyes drifting down reading his question, “A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?”

Devils texting me and every person in my row,

“join the dark side,

we have cookies.”

Hearing Destiny honk from the car,

Wheel of Fortunate turning

And our winner is-

Triumphantly shredding sanity into confetti,

I scramble past desks trampling over sleeping classmates

Victoriously prancing out the door.

Cell phones clicking madly along my row,

Professor James spoke reprimanding us sinners,

“Pay attention class, 15 more minutes to go!”
