《Memories (Completed)》Chapter - 9

I thought a lot about my dream. Priya s last emotions were still very clear to me.
I now firmly believed that was how it truly happened, at least the last few moments of it anyways.
From her emotions, I think she knew the attacker. The disappointment and disgust I saw in her eyes encouraged me to believe that the attacker was someone she knew well.
Maybe a relative or an ex-lover.
Unfortunately, I didn’t know much about her at this point.
I needed help. And I decided to call the only person I knew who could help me.
I dialled the number I was given and waited for someone to answer the phone. After few rings finally, someone picked up the phone at the other end.
"Hi Mary”
"Hi Jacob, how are you? I was wondering when you would call.”
"Oh. I'm happy to hear that. I was wondering if you could come over to my place. I need some help, but I currently don’t know too many people.”
"I'm always happy to help. We have been close friends for a long time. The only reason I didn't stay around was that I didn’t want you to feel that I was imposing on you. I wanted to give you some alone time if that was what you required”
I was starting to realize how much Mary cared for me.
"Thanks a lot. I'll wait for you here then.”
Mary came to my apartment in another half an hour. I told her everything that had happened since we last met and what I planned to do next.
"So I need your help. As I know very little about Priya right now.”
Mary was lost in thought.
"Priya was a very close friend of mine as well. I was the one who had introduced you to Priya in the first place. But I seriously can't think of anyone who would want to harm her. I don't know about any ex-lovers as well. As far as I know, you were her first love.“I don't know of any angry relatives either. But I'm not sure if she had any stalkers. That is the only possibility that I can think of.”

After some more thought, she continued.
"I think we could use more help. I’m not sure just the two of us would be able to achieve much. I have been following the progress of the police on the case so far. Even though they haven't made any breakthrough, the Inspector is a capable and honest person. I think he might be able to help us.”
"You think so? He didn’t leave that good an impression on me. “
"I'm sure. Let's see if we can meet him up.”
Though reluctantly, I agreed with Mary's suggestion and went up to meet the Inspector.
We got an appointment with the Inspector for later that day. Surprisingly he was ok to meet us.
It took us some time to reach his office, and we were late by few mins when we arrived there. He was still in his office waiting for us.
He greeted us, and we took the seat opposite to him across his desk.
"I was having a busy day today. Hence I asked you to come at this time. So tell me, how can I help you both?”
I looked at Mary and decided to take up the conversation.
"We were just wondering if you had any progress on the case.”
"Oh. That’s a surprise. I thought you already knew everything that the police were up to. Based on your statements with the press, it seemed like we even had many clues as well.”
I could see he was angry at me for the statements I had made earlier to the press. I was starting to wonder whether coming here was the right decision in the first place.
"I'm sorry if I put you in any trouble by my comments. I was just angry and confused. I just want to find the person who killed my lover.”

Mary felt like adding in.
"Please forgive him. He is still very confused. Being in a situation where you can’t remember anything is very difficult for him. We know you are an excellent cop and want to solve this crime as soon as possible. The reason we came here is not to just ask for updates. We came here to see if there was any way we could help you as well. After we all want the same thing.”
The last comment got the Inspector thinking.
“Ok. I’ll consider helping you or sharing what we have found so far. But first I need to be sure that you are also working hard. What I mean is working hard to recover your memories. Only then will I consider helping you.”
“Ok. I understand what you are saying. I have been trying, but it gets really painful when I do that. Still, I guess that is no excuse. I’ll work on it and come back to you as soon as I remember anything.”
We spent some more time with the Inspector and left his place. On the way back, Mary dropped me at my place. I wanted some time alone right now. What the Inspector said also affected me somewhat. I guess I haven’t been trying hard enough on my recovery.
Once I got home, I picked up my diaries which Mary had given me earlier, and started reading them.
It was high time I learned more about myself.
There were four diaries, one for each year of my college life, with only the recent year missing.
As soon as I started reading, everything started to come back to me.
I was remembering everything I was reading in full detail, almost as if I was going through those moments in my life again.

People. Harmony. Dysfunction
[Hiatus]People are extraordinary. They are glorious, chaotic, imaginative, grim, all kinds of smart and driven. They are capable of living in harmony or incredible destruction. They can be both caring and loyal but vicious and self-centred. However, Olivia wished that the first year of her PhD didn't have to showcase quite so much of the melting pot. People. Harmony. Dysfunction. is a story that follows a research group through the drama and challenges life throws at them. It has an (unspecified) modern setting and focuses on the characters. I've tried to rate this pre-emptively, but unfortunately it might change as the story evolves.

DarkBoi69's mediocre, rushed and badly-written aventure
Follow DarkBoi69's edgy adventure as I move him through a shitty plot where he meets terribly-written characters like angry evil stupid villains and naive cute useless busty women. This story is not really an actual serious story but simply a writing exercise for me to focus on overall writing speed, forcefully insert some writing in my everyday life to increase productivity and most importantly help with turning ideas, thoughts or feelings into writing directly without feeling blocked, hopefully trying to achieve something as close as possible to writing unconsciously what i’m thinking about. I'll probably try to do something like writing as much in 30 mins as I can, nearly every-day. So far I've only done this once and it already seems like a pretty good thing to do. I don’t have anything planned and that’s probably going to be a constant for every one of these exercises, so it’ll end up being not very good (although maybe better than it has any right to be? ) and nonsensical.

Our story began on the frozen tundra, where barbarians roamed over thousands of years after the first landing of Bok. They were hearty warriors that valued strength and honor above anything else. Being bullied and looked down upon by the tribe, Rolf was determined to claim his honor as a true barbarian, but little did he know that the immortal gods had an entirely different plan for him. Meanwhile, storm clouds are gathering inside the walled city of Ubbin Falls at the edge of the Tundra…

Awakening
This story was previously known as "The Awakening".~*~"One... two... three... one... two... three... a million... is that number right?" A figure less voice echoed."Hello? Who's there?" Caliope asked, focusing on that voice."One... two... who? A million... a billion... no, it's more... a legion..."Silence. She had seen too many horror movies and heard too many stories about that single word to overpass its meaning. The voice went quiet, yet she was still unable to see where it came from. She rubbed her eyes and all she could see around her was a thick path in a jungle-like scene. She didn't remember how she got there, but she knew it was for something important. Her eyes focused on the far end of the path and all she could see were more trees. She turned to the opposite side and found just the same."One... two... billions... but always back at one..." the voice resumed it's counting."Where are you?
