Basil's new vital status showed some recent advances in the majority of its abilities and physical traits. Evalyne analyzed everything the Table showed and saw that his little champion was progressing. On the other hand, she achieved a hierarchy of sorts with Mardok and his friends to help Basil and his new partner on their journey.
Evalyne liked how Bik knew what Basil needed the most considering what his abilities were. But what intrigued her the most was the new Trait he received from the Golemite and Astheric one no less. She still didn't have visuals of them, but she knew they were together.
The trait is a Psychic Link, and not many beings can create one with another one; Still, it gave Basil the necessary knowledge about how things work in the world, and she supposed the capacity to communicate with the Golemite. It was exciting to know how Basil managed to create a connection with the being, and it had a name too?
All this was good news, and if Basil managed to create some level of loyalty with the Golemite, it could get classified as one of her creatures, making her gain more Asther units. It was perfect.
Basil and Auriz were getting close to the first cavern Basil knew. The reptile was not comfortable, and Basil felt anxiety at the thought of finding the tentacle mass that almost killed him. Auriz noted the emotions emanating from him and couldn't help but ask.
"Do you have something on your mind? It's weird seeing you so quiet."
"I feel weird. I feel afraid and angry for some reason."
"I think that's called frustration. You're still thinking about the creature from before?"
"Yes ... mostly."
"You think you can kill it now?"
"I am not sure. But I know I have the strength to defend myself, at least."
"This sentiment feels like an affliction in my mind. After that thing attacked and almost killed me, a great rage made me think of retaliation for my pain, and I want to see it bleed in agony." — Basil continued.
"I don't understand your sentiment. I have seen your memories, part of them to be specific, but I still don't get it. I felt your fear of the thing, but not what you seek to do to it."
"Maybe it's for the best ... We are here." — Mentioned Basil while looking at the end of the cavern.
The two of them reached the Cavern where Basil was born. They viewed all the scenery on a steep rock, with a forest of giant mushrooms filling the landscape, A big river by the side. On the horizon, a plain of stone and gravel filled with holes. Beyond that could be something else, but Basil didn't know.

"I think I could be of assistance against your fight with the creature, but I will need some means to move or defend myself if I have to remain in your back." — Suggested Auriz.
"I think so too. There is a familiar odor in the air."
"I don't have any external receptors, so I don't know what you are talking about."
"Oh, it will be beneficial for you."
Basil began his descent, being careful not to drop Auriz from his back. This time they were in a steep wall, and the weight from Auriz proved to make things difficult for Basil. Below them was a small field filled with moss and big clumps made of moss full of water. In this space lived a creature Basil knew very well. It was one of the beings that tried to take his nest when he was growing.
When they reached the bottom, many pink slimes were getting out of their hiding spots.
"Slimes?" — Asked Auriz
"Yes, They have cores, and maybe you can use them to make connections for body parts."
"I see, that could work. Lend me some of your spikes so that I can protect your back."
"You got it." — Basil released some back spikes, and Auriz used her telekinesis to maintain them in the air.
Both charged against the small horde of blobs, Basil fabricating the helmet he used before in the collapse to protect himself from the acid, and Auriz made use of the Bones to pierce the slimes surrounding them. Both started killing the Slimes with fervor, Basil penetrating the bodies and destroying the cores with his teeth, And Auriz impaling the life-cores with many spikes as faster as she could.
The slimes could produce tentacles and held rocks to create whips, but with Auriz diverting the tentacles with telekinesis and the bones, Basil could make short work of the ones in front. Sometime later, both collected a small mountain of broken orbs as getting soaked with the pink acid.
"I still remember the first time I fought one of those things."
"I remember seeing one in your memories, but it was mostly diffuse."
"Must have been from me losing control. I was trying to survive."
"And you succeeded... Now, what can we do with all these cores."
"Can you make some new legs? maybe create some limbs to fight."
"I don't think I can maintain control of more limbs than the legs, but we could try. Can you bring me some rocks?"
"Yes, I will leave you here for the moment." — Basil got up in his hind legs with the help of the weight of Auriz and let her go from the Bone brace he had on her. She fell with a thud.
"If I had pain receptors, I think I would say, "Ouch."
"It's not my fault you are heavy."
"... Go find me some small rocks, and don't talk."
Basil helped Auriz get many rocks for her legs but couldn't found any vines to maintain them together. Basil, seeing this got an idea.
"What if you use the slime as a way to maintain it all together?"
"It is not acid?"
"Yes, but I think you can change the properties of that liquid by using the cores we took."
"It could work" — Auriz floated one of the cores in front of her to start analyzing it.
Basil waited for Auriz to finish her scan of the item while chewing another core in his mouth. After some time, Auriz got the answer.
"It seems like you were right, I can't have complete control of the liquid goo for now, but I can at least use it to maintain the pieces together. How did you think of this?"
"I am curious, remember? I fought other slimes who looked like some worm with pincers and legs and were made with goo, but this one was sticky.
"I see."
Auriz, with the help of Basil, created another pair of legs, this time with the slime cores and rocks. Basil helped Auriz get on top while she collected with her telekinesis the goo and altered it to maintain the construct. They created a pair of legs with a smooth look and pink hue because of the goo, flexible, and robust enough to support Auriz.
Auriz tried to make some limbs to hold things, but her control wasn't enough, so they discarded the idea. Now ready, both began walking towards the fungal forest, where a known predator was now lurking.

How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.
