《The Immortal Mutant Teen》Chapter 79- The Interview

Acheron sneered at the Student President.
"Now that we have a band and an audience, should we get started?"
Akira frowned before nodding at Acheron.
'It seems he is much harder to deal with than I thought and these "Royal Guards"…." Akira thought,
Acheron backflipped 4 meters in the air before landing perfectly at the edge of the stage right in front of Charon.
Akeno and Kotone happily clapped at Acheron's athletic feat.
"I feel like some rock will be perfect for right now, don't you think" Acheron turned to Charon, only getting a nod in response.
Charon turned to look at the group behind her, she stood there in silence staring at each of them individually for a couple of seconds before nodding.
As if receiving some kind of command, they all moved towards an instrument. The giant man put down his weapons and sat in the drummer's seat, the chair creaking threatening to break under the massive weight of the man.
Acheron walked behind the microphone stand, turned the mic on, and then flashed a smile towards the girls who were surrounded by his Ferrymen.
"Lights, please"
The girls watched as one of the ferrymen raised his arm and tapped the screen on his watch's interface. The light immediately shot off.
Now the only source of light was from the stage and the flickering of the flames from the masks. It was so dark and since the ferrymen wore black that they basically disappeared, that it seemed that will o' wisps of all kinds of colors were floating around the concert hall.
The giant man raised the drumsticks and tapped them against each other 3 times before he began.
The electric guitar kicked in and Acheron forcefully grabbed the mic before bringing to his face.
"Little Johnny's got a gun, but he's not going to shoot anyone!
Let's stick up this carousel, there's only one way out when it goes to hell!
And when it comes to, all that we'll go through!
Dollars won't mean a thing when warmongers control our fears!
No Future! No Desire!
We are traveling but we're too close to the fire~,
No Future, Noooo!
Bombs Away! It's just an ordinary day in the U.S of A!
Say No Way!"
Acheron's loud metal voice came as a surprise to the girls that they all took a step as if hit by a sound wave.
The song ended but Acheron didn't stop, he pulled off his tie and tied it to his forehead like a headband.

When the song finished, suddenly, he switched from English to Mandarin as he started to sing. Another metal song started to play as the guitar riff started the song.
"Yo Ohhh, Ohhhh!
Yo Ohhhh, Ohhhh!
In the middle of the crowd, there stands you and me!
Meeting and getting to know each other!
Pretending to wear honest smiles!
There's no need to speak, you know exactly!
What me and you both want to do!
There's no need to care so much or feel sorry!
Someday, I'm sure you will understand me!"
Akira and the rest of the girls there didn't know what to say, their mouths were agape as Acheron rocked out in this little private concert he was holding for them.
Acheron continued to sing, song after song, all in different languages, if it was a form of rock and your country had it, Acheron sang it. German, French, Spanish, Russian, English Japanese, Korean, it didn't matter to Acheron the language it was in, he sang them flawlessly.
What was also impressive was the fact that the people behind him, playing the instruments, also appeared to not tire. They were like robots that only knew how to play flawlessly.
Acheron stopped after his latest song before looking towards Kotone and waving at her to come on the stage. Then Acheron turned around and seemingly put something in his mouth, when he turned around Acheron had fangs like a vampire.
Of course, those fangs were real, but he still had to make the illusion that they were fake so as not to rise the girls' suspicions.
"This will be my last song, lets slow it down with some classic rock... Kotone please take over the piano, I'm sure you need a warm-up for your concert on Thursday"
Acheron then leaned over to whisper in Kotone's ear, when Acheron pulled back Kotone nodded at Acheron and headed towards the piano that was now vacated, the person who was there before was nowhere in sight.
The guitar riff once again started the song but was soon accompanied by the piano played by Kotone.
Acheron closed his eyes and when he opened them he had a completely different air about him. To the girls down below he seemed melancholic and a little sad, it was like he longed for something but at the same time, he was full of regret.
"And I would do anything for love, I'd run right into hell and back,
And I would do anything for love, ill never lie to you and that's a fact!

I'll never forget the way you feel right now, oh no, no way!
And I would do anything for love, I would do anything for love,
I would do anything for love... but I won't do that!"
The song started slow, Acheron sang in a low tone, but it was filled with emotion, the girls couldn't help but hold their hand in front of their chests. Then the drums kicked in and the song was kicked up a notch.
Unlike how the original singer meant to sing this song, it held a different meaning when Acheron sang this song. Its true Acheron would do anything for those that he loves but there's one thing he would never do. I mean how could he? He who has lived for millenniums but has wished for death just as long.
Acheron took his jacket off and threw it to the side as he sang, the bands holding his braids together fell and his hair came undone. He now looked the part of an ancient vampire, just like in the music video, frighteningly so.
As he sang Acheron, he saw the illusion of Thalia in the audience. He clutched his chest as if he was in extreme pain. The girls jumped when suddenly the Ferrymen began to sing along with Acheron.
"I can do anything for love, anything you've been dreaming up!
But I just won't do that!
I can do anything for love! Anything you've been dreaming up!
But I just won't do that"
He once again looked towards where Thalia's illusion was, this time 5 silhouettes stood behind her. The faces weren't visible since they were more like shadows, but there were parts that Acheron could recognize anywhere.
The left-most shadow wore a toga and a small band made of gold on her forehead, the one next to her wore a Han Dynasty soldier's uniform and held a sword and bow in each hand, once the person removed their helmet, long black hair cascaded down to the middle of her back.
The next shadow was a little taller than the ones before her, she wore a crown on her head, her hair fell to her shoulders in what appeared to be braids that seemed to move with the wind. Only a slight piece of cloth covered her plentiful chest. But if you looked down, instead of legs, you would find that she had a long snake-like tail.
The one next to her was similar to the rest but at the same time completely different. She wore armor and held a shield with a spear on her back, her gauntlets shined in the light as ancient letter shimmered into existence. Her figured then shimmered and instead of armor, a 9th-century dress appeared, and her long flowing her was held tightly in buns.
The last one was a little different than her predecessors, she wore a blue silk kimono with pink petals patterns embroidered in the design. A beautiful black obi wrapped around her waist and a jewel-encrusted pin in the shape of a fan held her glossy black hair in a bun. Her long sleeves fluttered in the wind as needles shining with a dangerous light were held in between her dainty fingers.
Acheron held his shirt tighter causing some buttons to become undone, revealing his metal training gear and some of his tattoos.
"Some days I pray for silence,
Some days I pray for soul,
Some days I just pray to the god of sex and drums and rock 'n' roll,
Maybe I'm lonely, that's all I'm qualified to be,
That's just one and only, the one and only promise I can keep!"
Acheron closed his eyes and relaxed as Kotone, who was playing the piano, started to sing.
"Will you raise me up? will you help me down?
Will you get me right out of this godforsaken town?
Will you make it all a little less cold?"
A single tear fell as Acheron opened his eyes and saw the images in the audience turned to dust and disappeared with the wind.
"I can do that,
I can do that,"
Acheron turned to look at Kotone, who had been looking at him the whole time.
"Will you cater to every fantasy I got?
Will you hose me down with holy water if I get too hot?
Will you take me places I've never known?"
Acheron smiled.
"I can do that,
Oh no, I can do that,"
The song ended, the lights on the stage dimmed off and then all the lights came back on with only the 5 of them left, everything was put back in their original place as if it were never even used. The Ferrymen had returned to being Acheron's shadows.
As Acheron turned to look at the girls, he saw the were wiping tears away from their faces.
"So, did I get the job?" Acheron said with a chuckle.

8 164Who Fixes Books Anyway?
On the pretense of a raise, the relatively new employee Pernie is called in to talk with her superiors. NOTE: This is a short story written for a class I took recently. As a result of deadlines, it does not possess the quality (or length) that I would like and is rather thrunkated. Perhaps sometime far in the furture I'll fix it up. For now, I have much more important things to work on, such as my other fiction.
