《The Immortal Mutant Teen》Chapter 73 - Reason

This wasn't the first time Acheron has done something like this. He has done it many times before, all for one reason.
Acheron looked at the screens in front of him. He stood there, his arms behind his back as he watched people rioted, bombs exploded in warzones, people that were starving and dying. He, of all people, knew how fucked up their world was and how evil it was but evil against him was not allowed.
Acheron had set plagues and pandemics upon this world for hundreds of years. He hated this world so much. A world that took everything from him. He loved his family with his very being, but that's how far his love extended.
This hatred burned deep inside of him like a thousand suns. All that he could do was clench his fist and bury it deep inside.
He wanted to watch this world burn more than anyone.
He brought upon disasters to the world like no other.
In the 1320's he set the bubonic plague upon the world. The 1420's the Black Death was his masterpiece. 1520's had Europe destroy the Aztec empire with smallpox. In the 1620's he fucked with the Mayflower passengers and their puny colony; they didn't realize these lands already had a ruler. In the 1720's he created a plague in Marseille. The 1820s had a Cholera epidemic.
The 1920s had the Pneumonic Plague in Los Angeles, California. And finally, a hundred years later, the world will suffer again.
Acheron has been creating chaos and destruction for a long time. Anything significant written in history Acheron had a hand in it, for example, He traveled with Genghis Khan as he conquered the land or orchestrated part of World War II.
Now he took advantage of his creations of 'population control' for profit. He didn't make trillions upon trillion just helping people out selling phones and towels.
Acheron watched as young people hurled Molotov's towards buildings and the police in the streets of Hong Kong. He turned his back to it and looked at Athena that had an enamored look on her face.
He looked at his hand and clenched it, he remembered the day he created Athena. The despair he felt just hours after her creation.
He remembered how he floated in the stratosphere and gazed upon the stars. He felt relieved, finally, his long-awaited dream will be realized that day, all he had to do was wait a couple of days for its completion.

It was at that moment when he felt "it" ….. The breath of the universe. Everything Acheron had worked for, all of his plans, came crashing down. The reason he felt such despair was, he felt the life that was contained deep in the cosmos.
A terrible thought flashed through his mind, shaking him to his very core. Could it be he wouldn't die until the end of the universe? How much longer did he have to suffer?
The Orb to the side pulsing like a heart.
"Do you know what your original purpose was, Athena?" asked Acheron.
"I was created to kill you" Athena answered, she couldn't look at him in the eye.
"So, why won't I let you out?" Acheron asked,
"You are afraid that I will destroy and take over the world, then handed it to you on a golden platter, Darling…" answered Athena.
"No, that is just something my children have put in your head. I am not afraid of that…I could single-handedly take over the world myself, so why would I need you for that? if I let you out… it won't be fun anymore, it was easy for you 100 years ago and it will be even easier now" Acheron asked,
"Remember what you told me just days after your creation? What it took to kill me?"
Athena nodded,
"I said 'It is impossible to kill you, millions upon millions of calculations have brought this answer'"
Acheron nodded,
"That answer broke both of us, didn't it? You because your very purpose of existence was denied and me due to despair," Acheron said,
"You don't have limiters like our children do…. I originally created you to end my long and pathetic life. One good thing did come out of it, turns out what I created was someone to be with me throughout the years, someone to always be by my side,"
Acheron smiled at Athena, causing her to blush.
"I was here before you, Athena, and I'll probably be here after you but thank you for putting up with me until the end of our time together,"
Athena looked at Acheron with tears in her eyes and a smile full of happiness, she then teleported to him as she laid her head on his shoulders. The orb now turned from a blood red to a light red, almost pink color.

"I'll be with you for as long as you want me to… My Creator, My Love, My Darling. I exist only for you…"
Athena closed her eyes and turned into motes of pinkish light, the red orb turning dim.
"I'll see you after your maintenance check in the morning, Athena," Acheron whispered with a soft smile.
Acheron walked to the elevator, he got in and turned to see the lights and Tv's turn off. Only the red orb and servers being any source of light.
He then went to the 'The Vault' in search of something he had remembered about during the plane ride back to Japan and he knew was in here somewhere. Acheron decided to spend the rest of the night in 'The Vault'.
…
Akeno sat holding her head up with her hand, sighing for the umpteenth time.
Sakura looked at her love-stricken fool of a best friend with a wry smile. Akeno had been like this for almost a month now, distant, her head in the clouds and always saying how much she missed Acheron.
Sakura had even watched as Akeno began to sit in Acheron's chair and looked out at the window, copying Acheron's daily routine.
'She's hopelessly lost' Sakura thought,
She then turned her head and looked at her brother, Sora. He had stopped carrying a sword ever since his beat down in the hands of Acheron. He had taken Acheron's advice and switched to hand to hand combat.
She then sighed and put her head down on her desk. She just wanted to sleep now and worry about these things later.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed someone approaching Akeno.
'Another dumbass trying to talk up Akeno… Don't they ever learn?...' Sakura thought as she closed her eyes, waiting for Akeno's sharp response of rejection.
Acheron walked into the classroom and noticed Akeno in his seat staring out the window. He chuckled before silently moving behind her.
"I miss Acheron…" Acheron heard Akeno say, which made him smile wider.
*Phuuuuu*
Acheron leaned over right next to her ear and gently blew some air towards the back of her ear.
"Excuse me Akeno-san? but I believe this is where the main character sits," Acheron whispered in her ear.
You could visibly see Akeno shiver as her body turned bright red.
"Kyyyyaaahhh!!" Akeno exclaimed causing a commotion around the classroom.
Akeno jumped out of the chair like a cat having their tail stepped on.
She looked ready to pull out a knife when she noticed who the person was.
Acheron stood in front of Akeno with a big grin on his face. He wore yet another black suit with a black shirt and a red tie. His hair was braided into a twin French braid style and two dragon ribbons holding his hair together at the tips.
Akeno couldn't help but think Acheron's hair made his already wild aura even more prominent.
Sakura had already stood up the moment Akeno screamed and was staring daggers at Acheron.
"Hello Akeno," said Acheron, he then turned to Sakura,
"Hello Sakura, it has been a while hasn't it?"
Akeno walked up to Acheron, her face still flushed from the earlier incident.
"Where have you been? Is it true you got sick?" Akeno asked,
Acheron looked at her confused,
"Sick? I've never been sick in my life, but I had to take some time off to go on a business trip to London"
"Oh, I'm glad you're fine," Akeno said, she put her hand over her heart in relief.
"So, Sakura-san, can you explain to me why you are looking so angry towards me? Did I kill your dog or something?" Acheron said as he turned to look at Sakura.
"Why is it that you were gone for a month and were still able to pass all your exams with perfect marks?!" Sakura exclaimed.
"Oh, those? I thought it was something more important! They were too easy! I finished all of them in 5 minutes" Acheron said with a smirk causing Sakura to fume.
"Sit down and shut up!" said Kobayashi-sensei as she walked into the room.
As she looked around the room, she noticed Acheron sitting in his seat, a shit-eating grin plastered on his face, waving his fingers at her.
She fumbled and dropped all her stuff all over the floor.
