《The Immortal Mutant Teen》Chapter 33 - Pankration Appears After 1500 Years

Acheron stood there, the only things on his body at this time were these black bands on each arm and leg, his shoes and black spandex shorts, the bulge of Acheron's dragon in his shorts left nothing for the imagination and caused quite a few females to blush and look away, wondering how big it was.
Sakura looked at Rose,
"Excuse me, Belau-san? What was the thing on his body? And how come he seems different than usual?" Sakura asked
Both Akeno and Rose's eyes seemed to be glued to the bulge on his shorts. They reluctantly looked away before Rose answered,
"That contraption is training gear of Acheron-sama's design, it uses industrial-grade titanium springs to forcefully pull his limbs towards the center of his body, should Acheron-sama relax for even a second, the springs would force him into a ball shape," Rose said,
"This is what I was talking about when I said Acheron-sama is always training, he never leaves the house without it on… also, those 2 bands on each arm and leg? They are weights, Acheron-sama used an Osmium isotope and created those bands, each weighs about 100 pounds, so at any given moment Acheron-sama weights around 1000 pounds"
"1000 pounds?!?! How can he move around like that? Shouldn't his chair shatter when he sits down in class?" Akeno asks,
"Who said that he had ever actually sat down?... Acheron-sama just hovers centimeters above the chair, another way that he trains his control, strength, and stamina" Rose said, she is now back to looking at Acheron.
In truth, Rose was lying. They had his chair switched out for one strong enough to support his weight.
"As for your other question, how he seems to be different than normal? That's just because you have never seen this side of him before, the 'Fun' Acheron-sama" Rose said,
"Different sides? 'Fun' Acheron? Does he have multiple personality disorder?" asks Sakura
"Not exactly, Acheron-sama's personality and emotions are more compartmentalized than anything… Let's see, how can I explain it that even a child would understand?... Let's pretend Acheron-sama's mind is a 10-story hotel and the front desk person is the Acheron-sama that people see every day, the 'Regular', yes?" Rose said,

The girls nodded understanding her metaphor.
"Every room in the hotel is filled with other Acheron-samas, the first two floors are the mild, good Acheron-samas, the ones that mostly switch shifts with the 'Regular' Acheron-sama in the lobby, the third to eight floors are the neutral, weird and quirky Acheron-samas, 'Fun' Acheron-sama belongs on these floors, this side of him is trying to have fun, likes to show off, like a kid playing with new toys, these sides get called down once in a while… now the top floors, are where the VIPs live.."
"VIPs? What do you mean by that?" Akeno asks, she was getting a bad feeling about it,
"VIPs are the darker and darkest sides of Acheron, these are the one I'm here to prevent from going down to the lobby and taking over" Rose responds,
Rose sighs while looking at Acheron,
"Once in a while, these VIPs poke their head out of their rooms, that's why sometimes Acheron-sama's words seem cold or bloodthirsty, maybe even mechanical, he tries to keep them asleep and inside their rooms but sometimes they get restless and they decide to go out for a walk"
The girls think back to Acheron's first day when they were in the concert hall and Acheron had said that Kotone had a 'high-quality meat bag' it was disgusting and weird, not something a normal person would say.
Kotone finally spoke up, she had been quietly listening to this whole time,
"So, Acheron is insane?"
Rose shook her head with a sad look in her eyes,
"Not entirely… just extremely broken"
Back in the arena, Acheron had taken off his shoes and socks and was now removing the bands of his arms and legs.
When the bands hit the ground with a loud thud, Sora face started to drip some sweat,
'Those bands sound extremely heavy, and he was moving so fast with them on? How strong is this guy?!... He truly is a monster!' Sora thought,
"I understand that you are just a teenager but when I was a mere child, I had already tasted blood, I carved every lesson into my body, into my soul! Your talent is wasted on you, for you have not the motivation or the will power to carve the way of the martial path into yourself!" Acheron said,

Acheron moved so fast Sora couldn't track him with his eyes anymore, a punch landed on his diaphragm knocking the wind out his lungs.
"What a waste of talent!" Acheron said with ridicule and disdain in his voice,
Sora just keeled over looking like a fish out of water, desperately trying to get some oxygen into his lungs.
"Stand up! You have never tempered yourself, not even if it meant breaking every single bone in your body! Worry not… I'm going to make sure your body remembers these lessons I am about to teach you!" Acheron said, at this point, Acheron's whole demeanor changed once again, he seemed like a teacher or a military instructor.
Acheron forcefully pulled Sora onto his feet, handed the katana that Sora had previously dropped when he fell, back in his hand.
"You want to become strong?! You want to protect yourself, your family, and those that you love?! THEN FIGHT! Fight even if it means dying right here, right now!" Acheron exclaimed
At Acheron's words, a fire was lit deep within Sora's eyes, with a roar, Sora lunged and slashed at Acheron.
Acheron dodged his slash, sent a chop to Sora's wrist, making him lose hold of the katana in his hand.
Acheron grabbed the katana, the metal creaked and screeched before he snapped it in half,
"Even if your weapon is broken, FIGHT!" Acheron screamed,
"AHH!" with a scream, Sora lunged at Acheron like a maniac, he threw punches and kicks, those watching in the crowd knew that those were moves of a complete amateur.
"That's good, boy!" Acheron said, "In return, I'll give you a taste of the epitome of martial arts from the age of antiquity!"
For the first time today, Acheron got into a fighting stance, the initial stance for Pankration.
Pankration is an ancient martial art that mixes boxing and wrestling, as a sport, other than gouging, biting and attacking the genitals there were hardly any rules.
"Lesson number one in Pankration!... Don't Flinch! If your opponent hits hard, you just have to hit harder, ignore the pain!"
Acheron punched Sora twice before grabbing the back of his head and delivering a knee to his stomach.
Sora spits up some blood as he got up from the blows, Acheron's grin only grew wider.
"Lesson number two in Pankration! If you cannot kill your opponent, subdue him!! Grapples, chokes, and holds are all permitted!" Acheron continued with his lessons,
Sora threw a punch towards Acheron, Acheron easily ducked underneath it and put himself behind Sora getting him in a rear-naked chokehold, but before Sora could tap out, he was slammed into the ground.
Disorientated, Sora wasn't aware that Acheron was putting him in an armbar, by the time he did, it was too late…
*Pop* *Pop*
That was the sound of both Sora's shoulder and elbow being dislocated.
"AAARGH!!!" Sora screamed from the pain, he has never had been dealt so much pain before, he wanted to give up, he just needed to say the words and this torture would end.
"I gi- Ugh!" Before Sora could give in the match, Acheron had thrown a handful of sand into his mouth.
"Lesson number three of Pankration! There are no rules! Fight dirty if you have to! Do anything for victory!" Acheron said as he stood above Sora, who is whimpering on pain,
"Change your ways, little boy… remember that"
Acheron sent a final punch, knocking Sora out cold right in front of everyone.
The crowd roared like crazy! This is what they came to see! Such an amazing fight!
It was mostly one-sided towards the end but much better than the matches from before.
"Winner by KO...ACHERON BELAU"

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?

The Hopeful Project
A pair of twins stumble their way into the world of blood magic, lizard people, and cultivation powered mecha-armor. And by stumble, I mean one of them falls on their face while the other laughs. [Writathon Participant] People read this far? What are you doing down here? Escape! The chapter buttons are over there, stop reading this. No? Fine. This book is an excuse to put a world I spent around 3-4 months of my life building over the pandemic into writing. I was planning on doing the writathon last year, but somehow managed to confuse October and November. Dont laugh, I'm already ashamed enough. This book is about a pair of twins, doing twin things: calling each other names, going to school, learning how to use their blood to become unstoppable, juggernaut, killing machines... You know, twin stuff. It's like if someone stuffed a school arc inside of a tournament arc inside of a war arc. A good time, basically. I hope you enjoy it.
