《The Immortal Mutant Teen》Chapter 25 - Grim Reaper Of The Battlefield

Acheron had arrived at the Archery building, having no idea of the meeting that had already been taking place inside, the main topic... him.
The 5 grandmasters of the school, also known by their alias; the 5 Colors, were seated around a table, discussing with one another.
They had just finished watching the hour-long video of Acheron's spectacular feat in the forest course. After an hour of watching in silence, they just sat there lost for words.
The 5 Colors must protect the school, each a grandmaster in their art of combat. Each grandmaster is only referred to by their code name, their color.
Red is a grandmaster of the sword arts, Blue in the spear arts, Black in the fist arts, Pink in the assassination arts, and Yellow in the archery arts.
It wasn't only just the grandmasters inside, a student was also present, a female student. She stood at 180 cm, her skin a silky caramel color, her well-toned body stood erect as an arrow, she wore a pair of shorts and a tank top that barely held her well-developed chest.
This student was none other than Amazoness, she was told to appear in this meeting since she is the secret disciple of Yellow and was the top archer in the school, at least until yesterday.
Finally, Yellow had broken the silence that permeated the meeting room.
"… This kid is a monster…" Yellow said.
They had all seen the same thing, this boy had reached a level in archery that they had never even seen. Even Yellow could not believe that someone was able to use the bow like that, he felt that he wasted his whole life trying to reach the top, only to be taught that he wasn't anywhere nearby a boy of 17.
They had watched from the very beginning, they had wondered why this boy wore such a long cloak and thought it would cause him trouble as he traverses the forest… they couldn't have been more wrong. The moment he jumped into the forest, it was just surprise after surprise.

Acheron was seen traversing the forest like it was his backyard, he jumped from tree to tree with relatively easy. What shocked them was his archery. The boy never wasted a single arrow, even the ones that were already embedded in the trees, he used them to ricochet other arrows and hit targets, at what seemed to be, impossible angles.
"Tell me what you can about this boy from the video," said Red
Pink tapped on the desk as if thinking, "I hate to admit it, but the boy has surpassed even us in some aspects already, his calculations, environmental awareness, stamina, reflexes, and even his technique is already at the peak"
She stopped tapping the desk before continuing what she was saying, "In the aspect of assassination, the boy could even kill me, those missile-like arrows seem to hone in on any target, showing that he never missed… he would be a monster-like existence in the assassination world"
Red nodded his head in agreement, "That's not all though, it seems you guys missed it…"
He tapped on the screen rewinding the video footage,
"Do you notice anything at all?"
They all watched the video for a couple of minutes but failed to notice anything new.
"I don't notice anything new, I still don't get what you are trying to show us," Black said with a confused face.
"I'll give you a hint, the cameras in the forest also record audio…" Red said.
Yellow was the first to realized what he meant,
"The sound! There's hardly any sound coming from him!" Yellow exclaimed.
Pink was the most surprised at this revelation, as an assassin she had forgotten an assassin's best friends… stealth and silence. She was so focused on the deadliness of the arrows that she failed to notice that Acheron wasn't making much noise.

Only the twang from the bow and some wind could be heard, so, where was the noise from his cloak flapping in the wind? or the trees rustling as he jumped from one to another at unimaginably high speeds? If she thought that she could survive those arrows he threw before, that possibility ran out the window with this new piece of information.
"He is just as he appears… a death god" Pink said.
At her words, Yellow had remembered something, "A death god, you say?"
He felt that this student had reminded him of something but couldn't quite put his finger on it until now.
He moved towards the projector and pulled up some pictures.
"There is a legend," he said, "It has been around for about 5,000 years already, it depicts an entity in a black cloak with a bow, appearing in battlefields throughout history, killing the same number of soldiers from both sides"
He puts a picture up and amplifies it, he points to a certain corner of the picture, by a hill it showed a figure in black floating down while shooting arrows at the soldiers.
"This picture is from a painting of the battle outside of Troy, the one where they were fighting for Helen of Sparta, around 1360 BCE" Yellow explained.
"This one was from the French Revolution, same cloaked figure, with some kind of bow, killing both sides... This one from the American Revolution against the British, again he is shown flying through the battlefield, still with a bow"
He flipped through a different picture, detailing a different battle through history, and all of them had the same cloaked figure.
"Of course, everything was just a legend, until this happened..." He pulled an article up on the screen.
"This article was published around 4 months ago, when a veteran from WWII passed away, his family going through his things, found a chest, deep in his attic, in it was a broken camera, a picture, and… an arrow" Yellow said.
Yellow pulls up the picture the family found, and everyone gasps, it showed a figure wearing a long black cloak, like a death god, with a knocked arrow, pointing at the cameraman.
"Of course, this could still be fabricated, but even now there are rumors that squads from both the US Army and the Taliban were killed in Iraq during the war after 9/11, all with arrows through their hearts"
He looked at his companions and said, "This is the Legend of The Grim Reaper of the Battlefield and I believe this boy is the next successor of the title…"

She is in deep trouble and the consequences will be dire if she can’t find a way out. She is a fighter, though, and just doesn't quit. As a baseline human, she starts as the lowest of the low and has to claw her way up in spite of being tangled in a shifting web of schemes and plots. She has to do her best, and maybe her best is pretty good. As Sally uncovers more about her situation, she finds that she has to be smart and tough and that in this place she needs to depend on her friends, who are using her as much as she is using them. This book contains themes concerning life, death, and body functions, light swearing, minimal nakedness, and should be suitable for most. Some pertinent info: Ten Thousand Sallys is a complete novel of approximately 140 pages in 20 chapters. Around 80,000 words. not too long, and maybe too short.
