《The Immortal Mutant Teen》Chapter 18 - Home

As they lower down a fake floor slides into place to cover the platform. Once they reach the first sub-level all you can see is vehicles, sports cars from all over the world, some even customized with turret attachments and rocket launchers, Bulletproof SUVs and Humvees, a Black Hawk helicopter, and antique cars, dating back since 1885, the first level is just a garage.
Acheron walks to an elevator nearby and gets on, "I'll make dinner, so put away the car and come down"
Rose gets back in the car,
"Okay! I'll be right down, Acheron-sama"
The Belau's have bases just like this one in every major city all over the world. Some are covert, while others are overt, Acheron himself prefers the covert ones better, he hates in when someone comes knocking on his door for no reason, like asking 'if they heard about their lord and savior' or what nonsense.
All bases have a standard of 5 sub-levels, some have more, and overt bases have above-ground levels if the house or building that the base is built under, are counted.
This Tokyo home is just your standard 5 sub-level secret base as an abandoned factory as a front, but it has its problems, for example, the homeless and those teens that like to spray paint their tags everywhere they can.
For those occasions, Acheron had a simple solution to the problem… their disappearance. Rose said it was too drastic of a response, so instead, he put fences with warning signs saying
"IF TRESPASSERS CAUGHT, YOU WILL DISAPPEAR!!"
He finds human nature so fun and interesting, for once in a while you will get one that just ignores all the warnings and comes sniffing around, that person is never heard or seen from again.
Acheron's Art of Assassination, as he likes to call it, is impeccable and flawless, spent hundreds of years perfecting it, even those in his family have no way of unraveling this Secret Art of his.

Rose still says it's too over the top, but he at least he gave them a warning, so she lets it go. Be it children or elderly, Acheron has no qualms eliminating those that even remotely threatens the security of his family.
The second level is the living area, there are 14 bedrooms each with their bathroom, a kitchen fully stocked with the latest of cooking appliances, a living room with the best furniture money can buy, and there is even an indoor hot spring the size of an Olympic swimming pool.
The third level is the training facilities, the whole floor is equipped with the latest training gear, be it machines or free-weights, everything is here. In the center, there's a fighting ring, similar to those found in wrestling or boxing matches.
Towards the back, there is a Virtual Reality combat simulator, this simulator is decades ahead of the rest of the world, with an AI that learns your skills and uses it flaws to defeat you, though as advanced as it may be, Acheron is the only that has never been defeated by this simple AI, though his family thinks its because he was the one that built and programmed it, so he can exploit it and cheat.
The fourth level is referred to as 'The Vault', for that is not only hold every weapon you could think of, it is also home to an actual vault. The vault schematics show that is the size of a soccer field but that's all they know, Acheron has never let anyone inside, only he knows what secrets lay within.
The only one that might know a little more about the vault is the one that helped him design the security system but after she was done, she found that Acheron tweaked it so that not even her, one of the world's best hackers, could get in.

Acheron had put a firewall around it so impenetrable that not even nuke could scratch it. The fifth level and final floor is known as the Command Center, here Acheron can communicate with anyone around the world, it is his workplace.
He sends missions to his family from here and reviews all performances of his family and workers from this spot. It is also the home of 'Athena', one of the world's most advanced artificial intelligence, created by Acheron himself. She is so advance Acheron sometimes thinks she has actual sentience, for she likes to tease and act like his wife every chance she gets.
Currently, she is under maintenance, Acheron made a new upgrade to her systems and is currently running a status check, she should be up and running by next week.
Back on the second floor, Acheron is currently making some handmade noodles for the ramen he plans to make for dinner.
As he cooks, he tells Rose about his day and how interesting and entertaining things have been turning out.
After hearing about what transpired between him and Kotone, Rose couldn't help but think of putting a hit out on her, she bit her thumb as she raged inside her mind about how a child wishes to be with her Acheron-sama.
After giving her a list of names of people he wanted her to investigate, he served dinner and continued to talk about his day and his plans for the week.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
