In a cave, located on a part of a continent which will one day be known as South Africa, lays a 17-year-old male.
He is but a boy by modern-day standards but is considered middle-aged by the current time period. By all rights, he should already have a wife and perhaps a few kids but there is something different about him.
The survival instinct of a species to procreate is nothing to him for he lives only to fight and slaughter.
He may not be the strongest in terms of physique but his intelligence, cunning, and cruelty far surpass the average human during this time.
He is known far and wide as the Beast while some consider him a Monster. His body is riddled with countless scars from the many fights he has fought and the slaughters he carried out.
He considers them as his symbol of pride, and it drives him to become stronger and fight stronger opponents.
After another successful day of hunting and hard-earned victories, he falls asleep only to be interrupted and awakened.
His animalistic instincts screamed at him to alert him of imminent danger. After inspecting his surroundings, he feels confused as the danger was nowhere to be seen while nothing lived near his abode even at night, in fear of ending up as his midnight snack.
Just as he was about to relax after giving his cave another long look, he heard a loud 'BOOM' from high above him. It was the sound of something breaking past the atmosphere and it was also the loudest sound he has ever heard.
Feeling a chill down his spine, he quickly realizes that whatever it is was close. He dashes for the entrance and made it in time to see a yellow object, with flames ricocheting off it, crash somewhere around half a kilometer away from his abode. The crash causes the earth to shake wildly.

After recovering from the tremors, the Beast books it for the crash site but slows down and cautiously approaches as he comes closer. He walks along the crater that was created from the impact of the falling object and notices a light source near the middle of the crater.
Upon approaching, he starts to feel confused despite his intelligence as he is unable to understand what the object in front of him is. All he sees is a 2-meter long rock with parts of it being on fire and somehow manages to put together the strange thought that this giant rock fell from the sky and that it's a 'sky rock'.
Out of nowhere, the fires suddenly go out and a strange purple gas seeps out from within. The color of the strange smoke reminded him of purple flowers in a flower field deep within the forest. The strange gas condenses into a cloud-like appearance and slowly creeps its way towards him as if it had intelligence and knew he was there.
He hesitates at the beginning, not knowing whether it was harmful towards him or not, but eventually decides to reach out and touch the weird 'cloud'. Unknowingly, this decision would change his entire life forever.
As soon as he made contact with the purple 'cloud', it separated into a gas again and seeped into his mouth.
The Beast's own instincts immediately started giving off danger signals and he clasps his hands over his mouth, like a monkey, to prevent any more gas from entering his body.
Despite the effort the Beast put in to stop the gas from entering his mouth, it was unable to completely stop the purple gas and it immediately started to force its way into his body be it through his mouth, the gap between his eyes and his skull or the pores on his body.
The Beast starts to panic, not knowing what is happening to him, and begins to thrash his body wildly on the ground in the hopes of regaining control over his lungs.

Only was it after the gas had completely entered his body then was he able to breathe again. Upon realizing that he was able to breathe again, he sits up and starts taking in deep and long breaths of air into his lungs while feeling relieved at being able to breathe again.
Just as he stands up and feels ready to head back to his cave, a strong, tendon-skinning, muscle-tearing, bone-breaking pain begins to assault his body.
In his entire 17 years of life, this most certainly had to be the most excruciating pain he has ever experienced. He quickly falls back onto the ground and starts to thrash around in pain but manages to retain some part of intelligence and crawls towards his cave while he is still pulsing with pain.
His primitive mind is unable to comprehend how such a strong pain suddenly appeared, as if out of nowhere, but his body knows that it's in danger and that if it wanted to live, it needed to grasp onto the last hope it had. It knows that as long as it can move there, it will have a chance of survival.
His mind knows the land around his home better than anyone else and also knows that with such a huge commotion, there surely will be either a human or a wild animal that will appear sooner or later and if they see him in such a weakened state, he will be killed as the law of the jungle dictates that only the strong will survive whereas the weak will be the dirt underneath the feet of the strong.
With only thoughts of surviving remaining, the Beast manages to crawl all the way back to his abode while hiding in between the bushes and behind trees.
After painstaking attempts to enter his cave, he manages to enter it only to find darkness quickly filling up his vision due to the incredible pain and the body shutting down as a defense mechanism.
In a last-ditch effort, he manages to roll a boulder he left inside the cave and almost completely seal the entrance. Leaving a small amount of space for air to come through while preventing any large animals from coming in to rip him apart.
As he laid there on the cool stone floor of the cave, his body continued to twitch. His muscles, bones, and organs all began to change significantly, and it was to the point where you could see the process visibly if you were there.
His body continuously destroyed and reconstructed itself countless times, making it stronger, harder, and more powerful every time it was reconstructed, for an entire week.
When he woke up, he quickly noticed that he was significantly taller than before, he had grown an extra 20 cm taller throughout the entire process and was now 185 cm tall. He felt extremely comfortable and refreshed. He felt that he was stronger than before.
His mind cleared up and his thought process was sped up to an incredible level of speed. Unbeknownst to him, his body was absorbing a type of energy that was now tied to his very existence.
The energy and the recreation process removed the scars that once riddled his body and he felt depressed over the disappearance of the symbols of his pride but quickly got over it by comforting himself with the thought that he could always get more.
Little did he know that he will never again gain another scar on his body.

Life, the struggle for existence
What would happen when man had to, once again, fight for its own right to live? Would the evolutionary counterparts of our ancestors manage to life through the struggle for survival? What would happen to society if a new reason for living came up, other than the enjoyment of the well-built environment? A reason that could either unite or destroy humanity. This is the struggle for their right of existence. As earth and its inhabitants are faced with the fear of unknown danger and the peril of monstrosities, some will falter, some will die and some will live on to tell the tales of those forgotten. As reality dictates, most will be part of the first two groups and only a small faction will be part of the latter. *This is my first attempt at writing fantasy, so I do hope you’ll enjoy it. The story is one of apocalyptic nature, with gigantic monsters, unfathomable powers and also a critial view on humanity and what it means to be human. I will definitely try to stay away from any tropes that are not neccesary to write fantasy, as I thoroughly despise non-creativity. There shall be no harems, no unrealistic behavior and absolutely no standard scene of dimwitted bandits that try to rob whatever similarly rock-brained princess they encounter. The main character is not black and white, because no human is completely good or completely evil. They’re human, not some idealistic concept of what one is supposed to be. Enjoy!Warning: Tagged 17+ for the occasional strong language and violence, some mild sexual content can occur in the distant future.

Weavers... this lot has been synonymous with freaks at best, and devil worshipers at worst, since they were first found. Thankfully, they make up a negligible number of people, but they can still be incredibly dangerous. Oftentimes, they wind up killing themselves or others when their ability to perform magic begins to manifest, acting as a sort of natural culling process for weavers. However, this was well before the Republic of Sidia realized that the ability to manipulate reality can be reigned in, controlled. So if you had the chance to turn something dangerous into a weapon, why wouldn't you? This is what fate awaits a young man named Emmet. After his weaving manifests and blood is on his hands, he is given a choice: the gallows, or the Esphell Monastery. What awaits Emmet at the monastery? What is this magic, and how can he control it? What happens to weaver's once they are properly trained? And most importantly, will he survive long enough to have these questions answered?
