《A Future Destroyed - A Post-Modern Fantasy LitRPG》Chapter 13 - A Chat Between Man and Core

"Oooh! How cool! He's got FIVE Divine Brands! How'd he get so lucky?" the Fairy chattered.
Joriya bowed slightly to the video call. "My name is Joriya Alvinos. For the last decade, I have been in a physical coma, with a digital mind. Might I know to whom I am talking to, other than the 'Hillsborough Horror Hospital'? That was some nice alliteration, by the way. Sorry for crushing your monsters in the Coma Ward so easily."
"My name was... is... Clarence Henry," the voice of the core rolled smoothly through the connection. "I was the head of the IT department here at the Hospital, and I couldn't help but purchase the Dungeon & Guide Limited Package. This little bundle of energy is Evalon, a Reincarnation Fairy. Sorry for suddenly unfolding and claiming this space. It was instinctive after the Tutorial. I truly appreciate every PPP you have spent, as well as all of the donated resources you have given me."
"Greetings, Evalon," Joriya smiled to her before looking back at Clarence. "So, you gain PPP based off of what is bought?"
"Yes. During the Tutorial, I was informed that I would gain ten percent of the default purchase price of purchases. My fairy and I spent twenty years in the Tutorial! It was truly amazing. Anyways, I didn't mean to automatically spawn all those monsters or trap anyone in here."
"Damn, then the System is providing you with more than I'm spending in the Shop, and only what I spent on the Safe Zone and Shop Access," Joriya chuckled. "Do you have a Patron?"
"Nope, not at all!" Evalon cheerfully answered. "Want to invite us to your Patron's Faction?"
"Sure, I'll do so now," Joriya answered before pulling up his Status and focusing on inviting Clarence and Evalon into Gruugus's Faction.

"Gah, my Connection Pool is draining rapidly as vast amounts of blueprints and knowledge is being transferred."
"That's very interesting. Here, let me push out more of my Connection Pool to assist," Joriya grunted softly as he focused on it.
"Oh, thank you very much. Wow, you must have a lot of regeneration," Clarence commented.
"Hold on while I upgrade it," Joriya murmured.

"So, did anyone die during the ten minutes that the monsters had been out?"
"Thankfully, no. Nobody died to any of our monsters," Evalon stated as she did loop-de-loops in the air.
"So, any design for a Transition Station?"
"Yep! We've got that. I'll print it out at the front desk. As a reward for each Wave, I can grant you one quantity of a resource needed for the Transition Station. The rest you'll need to purchase yourself," Clarence stated calmly.
"Sounds good. Think we'll manage to get the First Transition Point achievement?"
"Well, considering that I'm the first Dungeon to ever join any Faction, I highly doubt the other Factions with members on Earth will have as easy a time with gathering the materials, the blueprints, and the people with skills to build it. I mean, looking at you, you have almost all of the skills needed to craft this yourself," Clarence chuckled.
"Do you need more resources?" he inquired.
"Nah, I'm good for now. Thanks, though. After you clear out the waves, I'm thinking of applying for a System Shift from Dungeon to City," Clarence answered.
"I see. Well, I should probably get around to escorting the people out. I don't suppose that since you're in charge of the IT department, you could eventually pack up people's personal belongings and have them delivered to the Emergency Ward? Preferably using something other than a rotting corpse?"
"Sure, sure. We'll get it done. Enjoy your Challenge, Boss." With that, the connection ended and the device molded back into the wall, making Joriya chuckle.

Again from Scratch Saga: Izmittor Unchained
If someone precious to you needed your help, would you extend it? Would you still do it if it costs you your peace and perhaps even your life? For Tercius, a man mysteriously reborn nearly thirteen years ago, there was only one answer to both questions. Feeling compelled, he sets out to journey to the northern Sogea and its infamous Western Izmittor mountain range, a natural stronghold of sky tearing mountains and deep canyons. Legends about the place abounded, but he knew without a doubt that the hidden valleys, rushing rivers, thick forests, and desolate landscapes hid powerful predators, the likes of which stalk the harsh terrains for an easy source of meat and bones. The many natural dangers of Western Izmittor would be hard enough to navigate safely for a lone traveler, but to make matters worse Tercius had enemies in the heights of Western Izmittor, humans and spirits who would see him dead if they ever learned of his true connection to the Pyramid of Tergaron and the Society of the Magi. To make things even more difficult, he also had to ensure that the true extent of his own Innate Skills remained hidden, for if the prying eyes of the world fell on him and his many secrets came to light, then he would never again know a day of peace. Can one reborn man manage to keep his secrets and still succeed in doing what his conscience compels him to? Will he have to choose one over the other? And can he do any of it without reigniting the sparks of a planetary war the likes of which had not been seen in millennia? Follow Tercius’ story and find out! *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** This story is a continuation of Again from Scratch, a story of mine also posted on RR.
