As he made his way down the tunnel, he used his resonance to detect all of the loot that dropped. He slowly collected the loot, meanwhile keeping his hearing at peak awareness. He heard a rock clack against another, either as one fell from the wall having been hit recently with a pick or been kicked by a being in stealth. He had made it halfway down the tunnel and having picked up a good bit of loot, only to suddenly have his danger sense spike off the charts from his left, making him spin to the right and do a quickdraw with his shortsword. A hobgoblin suddenly appeared out of stealth in a lunging appearance as his sword moved into its way, driving through the eye and into the brain, triggering a Fatal Strike.
Danger sense triggered again as the goblin started dissolving and sliding off his shortsword. He lashed out with his leg, charging just the single leg with ki, causing the hobgoblin assassin his boot smashed to crumble like a wad of wet paper, its chest collapsed from the enhanced ki strike. He then contorted around another strike, reprising with a ki-enhanced elbow to the nose, making its brains shoot out the back of its skull. He bent his knee of the leg that was still planted and lashed out above him with the shortsword, bisecting a hobgoblin that had tried dive for his head. Finally, he launched from the floor of the tunnel, spinning to put his feet on the roof, then lunging himself downward to shatter the spine of the fifth assassin.
*DING!*

Most of the loot he found on the way down the tunnel was copper, bronze and iron coins, with another five rusty iron pickaxes and three regular pickaxes, and two more sharpened steel pickaxes. Near the end of the tunnel, he found ten silver and five gold coins. He checked his inventory after storing all the coins and pickaxes.

He reached the end of the tunnel, and gazed out at a stadium-sized village, with over a thousand orcs gathered in the center, the air thrumming as they stomped their feet and banged the butts of their spears on the ground as they got ready to storm up into the mines. Thankfully, there was only the one path they could take from the gates of their village, which gave him the chance to apply one of his Gravity Field spells, pumping extra mana into it for an increase in size and strength, giving him another chime from the system, which he put off as he gathered his ki and performed another highly charged ki wave at the spot where they were slowed as they marched.
BOOM! Orcs went flying, their wall went flying, and a huge crater appeared in the center of the gravity field. He pulled up the kill count real quick and blanched.
Kill Count by Species:
Goblin: 390
Orc: 895
*DING!*

He felt his blood suddenly surge in his veins as the second half of the army stormed out of the gates, a red berserk glow surrounding them. He felt a smile form on his lips as they charged up the slope at him. He launched the six throwing daggers, then unsheathed his blades and countercharged, feeling his mana and ki infuse his entire body for the equivalent of his boosted regeneration rate.
He abandoned himself to the calls of the skills, and for a while, it appeared that a whirling tornado of adamantium spun through their army, ricocheting off various orcs, using them as springboards and shields, each move of his blade taking a life, every kick crippling or deadly, contorting around the berserk stabs of the orc army. His kill count skyrocketed. He took a spear to the thigh in order to kill a General. He took a thrust to his gut to take out a Shaman. The wounds instantly sealed themselves and continued regenerating. He was a nightmare to behold in the battle frenzy his skills called him to. By the time he had carved his way through the army, another small party had left the village.
*DING!*
One Man Army (Tier MAX [5]) - You are an army unto yourself. When fighting alone against insurmountable foes, Pool Regeneration is increased by Five Percent (5%) per Tier for every Ten (10) enemies more than you (Current: 25% x Enemy/10). The Power Statistic acts as a force multiplier on any action you perform. Rolling Power based on Default Maximum of Twenty (20). Result: Seventeen (17).
He was suddenly in front of a pair of ogres which broke him from his zoned in state, and he couldn't dodge fast enough as these ogres were far above and beyond the statistics of the orcs he had been slaughtering, getting struck hard with a huge club and sent flying, he bounced a few times and coughed up blood as he felt his frenzy break. In front of him, as he climbed to his feet was a Marzillin Deity: Gruugus the Fierce, who was clapping his hands loudly. Gruugus stood ten feet tall and was almost three feet wide from shoulder to shoulder. He was dressed in what seemed to be a replica of the Terran Space Marine armor from Warhammer 40k. Behind him were the two Grundlins, not ogres apparently, in similar armor, as well as what looked like a Sulnarian Assassin and a beautiful golden-skinned Ralifin. All of them had God or Goddess under their names and titles.
"Congratulations, boy. For one who has only just received the Blessings of MANA, you have done extremely well for yourself. I offer you a Patronage in the new world."

In the lands of Neden, children with gates--birthmarks able to accept and hold the power of soulstones--are collected every five years, when they reach age fifteen to nineteen. It is nearly time for the newest cohort to be celebrated and then conscripted, and with that day looming, those whose lives are about to change wait impatiently for their destiny to arrive...or try to find a way to avoid it: Cal, a refugee from the nation of Caas, doesn’t want to go to Kellingherth to gain the powers of man, beast, or element, and he certainly doesn’t want to join the war efforts after that. The only things he’s dying for are a good drink, dance, and girl, in no particular order. His best friend Raff prefers his sweat to come from a hard day's training than an evening carousing and wishes Cal did, too. He wants to accomplish more with his life than becoming a simple palace sentry like his estranged father and will do whatever it takes to get there. And they are just two of many. When the tenuous peace of the realm is threatened by the arrival of an old enemy, these young chosen will likely be swept up in events rather than prevent them, but the future cannot be rushed or escaped, only experienced.
