《Settlement of Safehaven - A Hearthtree Series》Chapter Fifteen

The Half-Jotunn that was leaning up against an old tree is from another world. Thomas Brath is a young eighteen-year-old male that was cripple by a serial killer. The killer was called the Rage Killer on earth. The form Thomas had taken made sure that no one will break him again. So now he goes by the name Treesplitter to fit his giant appearance. His body may be broken on board the ECS Asgard but his spirit is not. Thanking the ship Asgard that gave him a spot even after being cripple from a brutal attack. They told him his body will be repaired when they before they arrive at the colony a few hundred years from now. Make him very thankful for this chance. Watching the sunrise as it lights up the valley below where he had built a cabin after a few months of arriving here.
Over the last few months, he has beaten a few trolls into leaving the area. Treesplitter tries very hard not to kill anything or anyone unless he has no choice. His biggest problems have been other players trying to destroy what he has built. Sending quite a few backs to their bind point to make a point. Knowing soon he will have to move again to find a place to be alone. Staring at his reflection in the puddle at his feet seeing only an exaggeration of his real looks. A blond shoulder length hair male with bright blue eyes. Tan with a firm body that very stocky to handle the strong bones.
With high Might and low Deftness. He has been putting points into Deftness to bring it up to surprise his opponents with speed. Not a slow-moving Jotunn. By taking an unknown Jotunn race upon when he started. He will have to wait until he is level twenty to find out what type of Jotunn his mother was. At level five he took Forest Guardian as a class. Somewhat like a human ranger with a few more druids spells to cast. Having a level five skill in bows from his time on earth hunting with one. It has taken him months to finally craft a bow big enough to use. With arrows bigger than most spears. The only other weapon is a club he carves with a sharp rock.
Sitting down to make some more stone arrowheads. A noise made him look up and see a very large red envelope floating in the air before him.

To Thomas Brath aka Treesplitter.
Opening the letter and started reading.
Dear Thomas,
Humbly with great sadness of heart, I must tell you that the sack of dragon dung know as the Rage Killer is on this ship. He is in the game as a human called Devon the Brigand somewhere in the North near the settlement of Safehaven. You or his other victim may kill this sad piece of hate dripping cesspool of a human being. Only upon him reaching level twenty or higher. Just so you know it will be a permanent death, his stasis tube will open to the vacuum of space and bye bye. Be warned if you reach level twenty he can kill you too and the same will happen to you. Of course, you can chose to ignore this or find another punishment, or go running screaming into the hills. Only you and the other victim will be able to kill him permanently.
Must say nice Bow.
Yours truly,
A Secret Admirer
Lord of Knightly Intelligent
P.S. He does not know any of this, because of rules I cannot tell him, shame but oh, so fun it will be!
Narrowing his eyes he tosses the letter into his backpack and headed toward the cabin. Time to move on. Going to punish this Devon by smashing him over and over then let him reach Level Twenty. Then I will tell him who is going to kill him before smashing him to nothing. Yeah, it time to move north. In the Shadows of the forest, an old man chuckles as he fades into the shadows.
A young woman named Faylee is one of the fairy fey classes that a person can take. An elf-like with wings, blue hair, golden eyes and transparent like butterfly wings. She lives deep in Breena the land of the fey, far to the south of the Imperium. Her real name is Sarah Banker. She escapes that horrifying night that the Rage Killer broke into her family home. he killed her mom and her mother's boyfriend and her baby brother. Hearing the screams and her mother telling her baby brother to run. She fled out the window and climb down the escape ladder her mother insisted to have in case of a fire. Shortly after calling 911 the operator dispatch the police her house. Ever since that night, she slept in a fitful sleep. Here in Breena, she built a home high in the trees with as many other fey around her. There have been many nights she awakens to her screams of that night. Faylee always did loves fairies. When she got her ticket to join a distance colony she jumps at the chance to get as far away from Earth and the Rage Killer.

Faylee spent the morning trying to get her potion brewing up to level four.
Finishing up her quest to get the fifth level so she can choose Alchemist as a class. Being a chemist nerd in school, planning to go to college to become a chemist after the incident. She never left the apartment that she lives in with her foster parents that were a cop couple. It was the only places she felt safe. Two years of therapy and then receiving a ticket on her eighteenth birthday was a saving grace. The only part of being an Herbalist is having to go pick herbs. Wishing she was drowning in coins, she grabs her herb bag and went to find her friend Beth. She is a Minotaur NPC that she met a month ago that she had grown attached to defend her. As she opens the door a Red Card was floating in front of her doorway.
To Sarah Banker aka Faylee
Looking around the card hanging in the air and not seeing anyone there. Thinking it was from one of the AI of the game she opens it.
Dear lovely Sarah,
I must with a sad heart to tell you that the vile heartless killer knows as the Rage Killer is on this ship. He is a human character called Devon a most hated Brigand in the North near the settlement of Safehaven. You or another of his victim may kill this said person upon when he reaches level twenty or higher. You know it will be a permanent death. His stasis tube will open to the vacuum of space and his body will be chuck out into space to never to be seen again! Be warn my dear lovely fey if you reach level twenty he can kill you too and the same will happen to you. Of course, you can choose to ignore this or find another suitable punishment. Of course, you could go running screaming into the hills. Only you and the other victim will be able to kill him permanently.
Must say nice wings.

P.S. He does not know any of this, because of rules I cannot tell him, shame but oh, so fun it will be!
Kaylee drops the letter and started screaming. Many of her neighbors found her curl up sobbing at her door with an open letter laying near her on the ground. No one notices a tall shadow of a man fades away in the background chuckling to himself.
Devon appears at Hodstad glaring at the others before he heading to the Wicked Deed Inn. Checking to see if his girlfriend was back. Grumbling that it will take him several months to get back to the area where that settlement is at. He started planning on what he needs to take the place.
“Delitha Blackbones in?” asking the clerk behind the counter,
The Clerk Stammer at him, “N...no she left a letter.”
Deary
I took a group to the Walker Point Ruins, I heard there was a book there to start the process of becoming a lich. If I not able to communicate I will camp north of the ruins.
Tata, kissing my love.
Delitha Blackbone
Necromancer of the ninth order.
Crumbling up the letter noting she made ninth level. He turns and went looking for Bart.
“Bart! Get some gear and everyone ready to leave at dawn. Get enough to last a month." Tossing him a small bag, “use this to get us some horses may have to leave in a hurry, I will meet you at the North gate at dawn.”
Turning and headed to the center of the residential section of Hodstad. The town is about six thousand people strong. Laying in the crossroads between the old north road to the north and the Imperium Road going east and west. It is an old caravan town that trades with the dwarves to the west and the Fey to the south.
Devon knock on a door to a small villa, looking around and not seeing anyone. The door opens revealing a young female half-orc servant.
“Are your masters at home?” Smiling so sweetly as the need to want to crush this nonhuman's throat almost overpowered him.
She nodded with a slight bow, “Master Tadius and his family having lunch.”
Pushing his way in through the doorway, the door close. A few minutes later several screams could be heard within the villa

At The Precipice
Defenseless. Scared. Alone. That describes the life of Brock Carter as of late. Following his ‘death’ at the hands of a vicious magpie, Brock is rescued by the machinations of the newly instated, all-powerful System and thrust knee-deep into a brutal world catered only to the strong. Fluctuating between two states of being and trapped within a city ravaged by time, he is told to either seek out the mysterious ‘Source’, or die trying. He just hopes he can do it without scuffing his expensive suit in the process. ***** Honestly, I've just always wanted to write a story. I had a crack at it a few years back, but the entire thing fell apart before it even began. At The Precipice was originally written as a way for me to destress and play with System elements and characters, but eventually I decided that if I was gonna write, why not post it too? Writing's just a hobby of mine, so don't expect this to be at published novel level, I guess, or even anything of relative polish. Updates every Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs-Fri Average chapter length is 2000 - 3000 words ***** What to expect: - A semi-comedic/light tone, mixed in with a gritty world and brutal survival (not ever grimdark though) - An MC that thinks about what he's going to do and why he'll do it, even if his internal logic is lacking. Is a rather rational person, not often influenced by his emotions, but can be in extreme situations. - A plot heavily focused upon the MC, but one that will branch off to envelope the other characters in the world at times. Often, it's just other people's perspectives of him. - A story of power growth. While the MC is certainly going to be powerful, even over 100 chapters in from what I've written, he still isn't the strongest being on Earth, let alone the entire Multiverse. - Lots of gore, vivid fight descriptions, and often times deaths of people, some even somewhat important to the story ***** Things this story will never have: - Harems - An edgy, villainous MC - An MC that does jackshit about things for 'plot reasons'
