《Omni-System User》Chapter 14

Twenty minutes passed quickly as Lefu and Matt rushed around the kitchen cooking up breakfast which included fifteen pancakes along with a few eggs and sausages. Placing the meals down the father and son pair sat down wiping the sweat that formed from their cooking. Lefu quickly looked to the side as a messaged appeared while he was cooking but was focused entirely missing the notification.
[Skill Learned: Cooking Beginner 5%]
The joy of gaining a new skill filled Lefu as he grabbed his food and began eating his breakfast. Quickly taking the first bite, Lefu watched a message appear in front of him informing him of when it was cooked and the score.
[Pancake, Made by Lefu Delano,
Cooked six minutes ago,
Score: 2/10]
‘It seems that the pancake barely passable by the system standards,’ Lefu thought as he poured syrup onto the pancake and watched the score increased by one point. Nodding his head in as he already guessed that how the food prepared and what put on it affects the score.
“Sorry if the meal not up to your standards,” Matt apologizing tone as neither Clare or Camilla touched their food.
Waving her hand Camilla calmly replied to him, “It not your cooking terrible it just been quite a few years since we had something so simple for breakfast.
Lefu suddenly remembers when he ate at their house where it made by a professional chef that should belong to a famous restaurant. Grinning as they looked at such a simple meal, Lefu suddenly had thoughts of teasing Clare, but he held back. The meals soon ended with every happy and filled ready to start the day as the time almost reached seven.
“It time for us to leave, let go you two,” Camilla said and directed Lefu and Clare to the door.
“Have fun, and remember what I said,” Violet stated as they closed the door.
Lefu seemed to-shivered at the end of the sentence as he didn’t know what they talked about but judging by Clare blushing it he didn’t dare ask. When they reached the bottom of the stairs, Lefu spotted their driver Bill. ‘Really does he ever take a break?’ Lefu really wonder if Bill part machine at this point.
“Good morning Bill,” Lefu greeted, which earned him a nod of acknowledgment. Scanning over Bill quickly Lefu was looking for exposing wires or metal plating confirming he a cyborg or robot. Receiving weird gazes from Bill himself, the looked that Camilla and Clare gave would burn a hole through him if looks were physical.
“Cough~,”
Giving out a light cough Lefu felt embarrassed from their looks. Throwing his poker face on and pretending he can’t sense the looks he climbed into the vehicle. From behind he heard a small laugh from Clare who seems to find his performance amusing.

Even if they didn’t know what Lefu was looking for they felt it was funny as they had a general idea what his thought was. In the past, many who got to know them always saw Bill driving them around or running the errands at all hours. Finally, after so long Clare asked what they were thinking and all replied with ‘We thought he was a cyborg.’
Bill who causes these misunderstanding couldn’t understand why everyone thought of him either a machinal or cyborg. The reason he always appears is that he loves his work and willing to come at any point during the day. Surprising though his personal life is healthy as his wife fully supports his work ethics. Whenever she needs him on the moments, notice he runs to her side and ready to help any way he can.
Clare and Camilla climbed into the car sitting in the backseat crushing Lefu against the door as a joke. Closing the door behind them, Bill entered the front seat and began driving unaware that the three were staring at him since the back seat barely gave them enough room. Clare who was sitting in the center was carrying the coldest glare as she felt uncomfortable as the space between her and Lefu were mere inches.
This was the longest she was attached to him outside of practice or trying to tease him. Now that she was this close the conversation that happens while he was cooking. The more she thought about it, the more she blushed from it. Flashing back to the discussion, the topic switched to be about Lefu and what he likes, hobbies, and basically all about him growing up.
Back when she attempted to kidnap him she saw these things in the report, but back then it didn’t matter, but when she heard it from his mother, its importance increased for her. Thinking about how his mother revealed his ideal woman she realized she fit most of them perfectly. Soon small steam leaked out of her ears as her brain overheated but she kept her ice look on.
Camilla who was laughing inside watched her daughter out the corner of her eyes. Knowing the cold and distance, Clare seemed troubled on how to handle the boy sitting next to her. ‘It seems she took an interest in Lefu but hasn’t realized it herself even if they only meet a few times,’ She thought as she wondered how their relationship will evolve.
The car ride lasted for nearly two hours as the traffic jam slowed down their trip to the studio. When the car pulled into the parking space the three hopped out and stretched as being scrunch together for two hours was torture to them. Wiping off the sweat that formed between them as the air conditioner couldn’t keep up between the heat they generated with body heat.

“It so nice to stretch out again,” Lefu stated as he swung his arm in a circle.
“So, you didn’t like sitting next to me?” Clare shot a cold remark in his direction. Freezing from the comment, Lefu quickly searched his brain on how to solve this. Seeing him unable to answer Clare secretly grew happy as he thinking hard about how to solve this and not like the young masters who try to court her. She hates those that will say anything trying to gain her favor or obtain her for their own greed.
“I was joking,” Clare stated relieving Lefu from his internal crisis.
As he was caught off guard with the question, he went through the lists that he learned from his father every time he messed up. But he quickly crossed most off the list as they were either begging or attempting woe her with a present. While he would attempt this but lack of material and think about how she would hate it as he gets the impression that many tried these tactics on her before.
“Come along you two we are already late because of traffic,” Camilla pushed the two forward while hoping that Director Keegan in a good mood. In the past, she saw him fire few actors and staff for being late, but these were one that showed up late a few times before.
Now with large strides, they soon arrived at their studio for filming and saw Director Keegan with a furious look as he watched the staff clean up the props. Glancing over the props signs of trashing the site and vandalizing were present, but confusion entered Lefu thought. The trouble came from how they even entered the place as guards patrol the grounds without knowing the schedule until their shift. The rule was implanted as a test to limit trespasser who memorized the guards patrol time allowing them to sneak in easily.
“Director, what happened?” Camilla asked bringing his furious attention to them which soften once he saw who it was. Releasing a sigh filled with anger and annoyance he walked toward them eating few chips.
“It seems someone trashed the sight last night after they knocked out nearly all the guards and cameras. But the mystery is why did they only trash our site and stole nothing or trash other sites,” He explained as few chips were eaten emptying the bag, which he crumpled up and pulled out another one.
“Why would they hire a team to trash the site? That makes zero sense as it only costs money and time to repair the site,” Lefu thought out loud, “What about the scene we shot yesterday are they still ok?”
Shocked filled Keegan expression as he quickly turned and yelled in the direction of the special effect team to check. They quickly ran through the computer and looked through the video only to jump in fear.
“You’re going wants to look at this,” the leader shout turning all heads in his direction. Walking over the four of them looked at the screen which showed had a warning written across.
“Beware Lefu and Clare, we are coming for your life,
-Demon Spiders”
[Mission Alert: Protect Clare,
Time limit: until the day ends
Reward: ???
Punishment: Death]
“Do I have the option to reject this mission as the punishment seems a bit harsh, besides how am I suppose to protect her when I doubt I can protect myself?” Lefu asked the system, he might know martial arts but he, not a superhero or selfless citizen who willing to die. Beside she basically has bodyguards her nearly all the time.
[This is a mandatory Mission, refusal will count as failing, and punishment will be given.]
The curse starts flying out toward the system, but Lefu appeared to be in deep thought to the ones standing around him. Noticing his calmness after knowing that a famous assassin group after him surprised Keegan and everyone around them. Camilla was also surprised since she thought the one Matt was talking about was a small-time assassin group, but this was Demon Spider.
It is unknown when Demon Spider formed or how it recruits member but one thing they are considered one of the best and biggest organizations on the planet. When they accept a mission, it has a 95% success rate, or the assassin dies trying. If the killer fails, his or her mission a higher rank member will be sent, and the cycle will repeat until the target is dead or who ordered the hit is gone.
“So is this Demon Spider organization great or something,” Lefu asked since he never heard about such organization before. He who came from a background where all he knows is his parents run a gym and nothing about the monster organization.
“They are one of the best assassin organization on this planet and won’t stop unless their target is dead or the one who ordered the hit,” Keegan gave a brief overview of the organization. Learning about the organization black lines slowly filled Lefu forehead as he doesn’t like the sound of what coming.
“Well until they come we might as well get to work,” Clare said not sounding worried about them. Keegan quickly shifted his eyes to Camilla who just gave a slight nod in agreement.
“Very well let get the set restored and begin with the running scene from yesterday,” Director Keegan announced.
