Chapter 68:Floor Boss Part 1
Not long after I jumped away, boils sprouted on his skin. They looked hideous on its already ugly skin. Those boils burst with a ‘pop’ sound as yellow pus sipped out. It smelled. The pus turned acidic as soon as it came in contact with the atmosphere. After my improvements to the bacteria, the disease turned even more deadly than before.
The pus burned his skin and made new wounds as it slid out of the boils. Unfortunately, it was in a state of unconsciousness to feel the pain. I shook my head.
The arrogant bastard got away too easily.
He deserved to feel pain before death. The kind of inhumane pain this bacterial infection would cause before finally killing its host couldn’t be described with mere words. Only someone who had felt it before and lived to tell the tale would know.
Twelve seconds were too small sometimes.
My wish was granted as the orc woke up to inhuman pain. The boils covered all over his body and the pus making more wounds. His own body fluids made it even worse.
“Ah! You bastard Imp! What have you done to me?” The orc tried to stand up to attack me, but was unable to in the end. By the time it came out of my illusion, the disease had spread all over his body through his blood. “Ah, this hurts! What is this? My body is hurting! Why do I feel so weak!?”
I looked at the orc and its body unblinkingly while trying to compare my prediction about the disease to the symptoms showing. There was a timer running in my head as I observed the deteriorating condition of the orc.
In ten minutes, the bacteria will affect his heart, and then he will die.
“Damn you, Imp! I know this is all your doing.” The orc gave up struggling and laid on the ground powerlessly. The boils on his legs and the acidic pus has already corroded his toes.
“Haha!” He started to laugh, which scared me, to be honest.
I remained quiet and allowed him to do whatever he pleased before he corrodes to death.
“I was here to scout anyway.” The orc continued with his blabber. “Our lord has his eyes on this place. Sooner or later, he will come here personally to conquer this place. You will die then. Hahaha!!”

“Really, now?” My unenthusiastic response made the orc vomit blood in anger. He literally vomited a mouthful of blood. To be honest here, after going through two big wars, a ‘unique class’ no longer scares me. The moment I knew this orc’s identity as a Bloodyvore tribesman, I knew this would undoubtedly happen.
I was not the same Alex from before.
“Haha, yeah! He will kill you with his hands personally.” The orc’s feeble voice came, and that’s the last thing he said before a boil in his tongue popped. Not long after that, its eyes burned from the acidic pus, and it went blind.
[You have killed an adult Orc Warrior.]

[Cast Illusions Level +0.02]
[Plague Bearer Level +0.009]
The two skills I used all gained a bit of Lv points. Since my system didn’t have an experience point gauge, my gained experiences directly add to my level in decimals.
A growth, no matter how small it may be, always brings a smile to my face. It’s the numerical proof of my hard work and understanding of the skill.
Shaking my head, I made the system go away and returned to the camp. The appearance of this orc gave me an idea. My victory over him boosted my confidence.
I decided that it was time to tighten that loose end in my backyard.
I planned to face the Hobgoblin sitting inside that enclosed room.
I hoped killing this Hobgoblin will count as an achievement. Out of three, I had completed two quests. There’s only one remaining.
I longed to see the world outside, and the only one standing in the way was this quest.
…
“Lord, is it really okay with only us three?” Urt questioned as we opened the gates to the Hobgoblin’s cave. After I relayed about my fight and victory against a Bloodyvore tribesman, the orc tribe cheered and celebrated for half a day. Sepi and the elders, though felt happy and proud for me, clearly understood the implications behind the appearance of one in this place.
That unique class has managed to merge all the scattered orc tribes on the second floor and became its unquestioned ruler. Now, with his empire settled down, its eyes fell towards other places.
He wanted to colonize.
“Yeah, it's alright.” I nodded. I was confident in taking on that thing with a bit of help.

As we entered, the hanging crystals lighted up, revealing the large hall. Our target, the hobgoblin, was sitting on the far corner of the hall, right beside a fireplace. Sensing our presence, it stood up and lifted its weapon.
“Intruder!” It growled. “You shall not pass!” The same speech as the last time. However, was it just me or it looked a lot thinner? It also lacked the destructive presence I felt last time.
“Go!” I ordered to Sepi and Urt. Nodding to me, they both lunged at the monster with their respective weapons. I have already told them about not allowing it to draw their blood. In order to not make it stupidly defensive, I only brought two chief-class monsters with me.
As Sepi’s mace collided with the Hobgoblin’s, it created an invisible shockwave, which I saw due to Infrared Vision. Urt flanked from behind and poked at it’s back. He didn’t use Puncture as it needed a special condition to meet. Even then, Urt wasn’t someone Hobgoblin could easily take on. Two chief class monsters were more than enough to take on an army of orcs. Besides, the Hobgoblin’s ability will only trigger after blood splashes on it.
If both Sepi and Urt exercise enough caution, this Floor Boss wouldn’t even be able to touch them.
Kroar!!
The Hobgoblin roared in pain as Urt’s spear dug a wound on its back. Successful in drawing the first blood of this battle, Urt smirked in satisfaction. The Hobgoblin abandoned his idea of dealing with Sepi first and turned around to clash with Urt. However, as soon as it did so, Sepi slammed his club on its head.
The force was strong enough to make the floor boss stumble a few steps and fall down face first. Urt spun his spear and poked on the Hobgoblin’s neck. But the defense of the creature was no joke, especially in its fatal areas. The spear tip only managed to go in a few centimeters before getting stopped by its dense muscles.
“Grab its hands and legs, and make sure it can’t move. A few moments is enough.” I commanded. To know about the disorders or diseases it might have, I had to physically touch it for a second.
“Got it, lord.” Urt and Sepi nodded before capturing the Hobgoblin’s hands and legs. I kneeled and touched its sheen.
Pestilence’s Servant
As the information flowed into my brain from some unknown source, I experienced a slight headache for a bit. After that, the medical history of this creature laid bare before me. The thing that made me surprised the most was the sheer power of its immunity. It had many ailments in its body. But due to its immunity system, everything was under control.
I would have given up on defeating it with diseases if not for a unique viral presence in its lungs. Those little shits feed on its immunity system. The only reason they haven’t killed it was because of the magical presence on its chest.
Roar!!
“Bastards!!” The Hobgoblin roared as a greenish aura exploded from its body. The shockwave generated from it threw both Urt and Sepi across the room. I was also thrown back but managed to backflip in time and landed gracefully on the ground. “I will kill you all!” The monster roared and charged at me this time. It already knew I was dangerous and thus wanted to get rid of me first.
I raised my finger and pointed at the Hobgoblin’s forehead before firing a concentrated wave of Cast Illusions.
[Cast Illusion Succeeded.]
[The target will be under your spell for 5 seconds.]
Five seconds was more than enough for me. I touched the dazed and stunned monster before using my skill.
[Plague Bearer: Improvement activated.]
After activation of the skill, I took three seconds to upgrade the virus to a more deadly version of it.
“Let’s back off,” I said and backed away from the monster, with Urt and Sepi doing the same. Urt looked a bit sullen, which Sepi also mirrored. I more or less understood why, though.
“Alright, you two can fight him. I won’t interfere anymore.” I sighed before backing away.
The virus will start to show its effect after a few minutes anyway. More than enough time for both chief class monsters to get the fight they desired.
On a side note, Urt’s Puncture can only be used after he takes some damage. Puncture will convert 120% of all the damage taken up to five seconds before the activation into a penetrative shockwave.
“Thank you, lord.” Urt and Sepi thanked me together before flanking the Hobgoblin from both sides.
