Chapter 27: Finale (3)
The moment the link was connected, I appeared in a dark place. The goblin I formed the link with, stood naked with a blank look, devoid of any emotions on its face. After seeing it, I couldn’t help but frown. I initially thought the purple cloudy space was a common area for everyone affected by my Nightmare Seed to appear. However, looking at the dark place, I concluded that the matter wasn’t as simple as I thought.
The method to transfer consciousness and absorb stats was already there in my head. All I had to do was to apply it, and it will be done. I closed the gap between us, then raised my tail, and penetrated it through the goblin’s head. Suddenly, my vision blurred. When it readjusted, I found staring at my original body.
This was the first time I had a thorough look at my current body after my reincarnation. I have to say, I looked good. It was better than when I was a mere Imp at least. Physically, I look like how a devil was portrayed in books that I used to read. Black rubber-like smooth skin, eyes without a visible pupil, a trident tail, hands with sharp nails, and let’s not forget the rows of zagged shark-like teeth.
Warning:
You have taken over the consciousness of a Mutated Adult Goblin. In this form, you can use all the abilities of the mutated goblin and 60% of your own abilities as well. This doesn’t include skills. The host can use all the skills he possesses even in this form. However, the cost to cast a skill is increased by 90% in this form.
Note: 10 MP will be deducted every 30 minutes when in this form.
Note: You cannot possess the same target a second time within 24 hours.
The stats of the body you have possessed are as such:
Name:?? (Alex, possessed) Race: Adult Goblin (Mutated)
HP: 120/200 MP: 5 (+67)/72
STR: 70(+3.42) AGI: 50 DEF: 20(+0) INT: 2(+27) WIS: 1(+13)
Passive 1: Mutation: - At the cost of intelligence and wisdom growth, all other stats will have an explosive increase after each deadly fight.
Passive 2: Painless: - due to the consumption of a dubious potion, the body became incapable of feeling any kind of pain or pleasure.
Skills: …
And, that’s how this thing worked. After taking over the body of an obviously strong goblin, I went forth to check out many things. From movements to some complex maneuvers, I decided to experience everything. What surprised me, however, was the absence of skills. I wondered if this was because of their unnatural growth, or it was a goblin thing.
There was no time limit on how long I could possess the body. But remembered the note mentioning that I could possess a body for a brief period of time, I wonder, how much was that brief period. I had 111 MP, I could maintain this form for at least five hours if I don’t use any skills.
The orcs who were guarding me looked around in vigilance when my original slumped down, and the goblin suddenly stood up. They pointed their weapons towards me, thinking that something happened to me.
“Don’t worry, I possessed this goblin’s body,” I said to them while shaking my hand in the air. Its an action I often do when about to cast a skill. The orcs relaxed their guard after getting conformation and looked on astonishingly towards me. I guess they didn’t expect something like this could even be possible. Such simple-minded fools!

Ignoring them, I went to the nearest tree and punched it with my full force.
Boom!!
With an explosive sound, a hole was punctured through the thick trunk of the dark tree with a weird pentagon like shape. On the contrary, I felt no pain whatsoever. This was the effect of the second passive, which made these goblins incapable of feeling any kind of pain or pleasure.
When I was about to go towards another tree, I nearly crashed into it. The agility boost was so huge that it was almost impossible to get used to in a short time. As an Imp, I only had 7 points of agility. However, in this body, my AGI was 50 which I underestimated before. That’s why, when I tried to increase my walking speed, I almost crashed into a nearby tree.
Sighing, I stood still and calmed myself, then slowly walked around. I didn’t dare to increase the speed anymore in fear of crashing once again. Although I couldn’t feel the pain this body, being crashed to a tree was still annoying. I played around for a while before deciding to absorb the stats, the other unique effect of the Nightmare Tree.
You sacrificed the Nightmare Tree inside the target to absorb 30% of its stats. Please choose any one attribute you want to absorb from.
STR :- 21 DEF :- 6 AGI :- 15
I didn’t take time to think before selecting AGI. With higher agility, my chances of escaping from a sticky situation increased even further. But, AGI didn’t only affect my running speed, it also affected the probability of me dodging an attack. It also had a little effect of affecting my speed of thinking process, which came in as a huge surprise.
As for the goblin, it died from the backlash, giving me 20 EPs in the process.
After the process was over, I pulled out the status to observe the changes.
Name: Alex Race: Adult Dream Weaver
HP: 100/100 MP: 90/111 (Regen: 2 MP/min)
STR: 5.2 AGI: 22 INT: 45 WIS: 21
Evolution Points: 30/1000 (?)
Passive 1: Nightmarish Body (!)
Passive 2: Shadow Meld (!)
Skills:
Infrared Vision (Lv 5), Cast Illusion (Lv 8.03)(1 MP), Nightmare Manifest (Lv 3.02)(40 MP), Metamorph (Lv 0.02)(20 MP), Nightmare Seed (Lv 0.5)(2 MP)
Nightmare seeds planted: 2/3
With this, aside from STR, AGI somewhat became proportional to the other two stats. Nodding to myself at my job well done, I looked towards the still floating purple fumes. I was almost sure that the thing beyond it was the habitat of goblins, their core place.
Since that’s the case, I decided to start mayhem in order to spread anarchy, and pull the goblins out of their safe zones. My method was exceedingly simple. I wanted to let Gyuk do his job. However, before that, I had something else to do.
Using the experience gained from my previous experiment, I connected with Gyuk and took over his consciousness.
Name: Gyuk (Alex, possessed) Race: Adult Orc (Mutated)
HP: 500/500 MP: 44 (+67)/111
STA: 200/200 (Regain 50 STA/Min)
STR: 80(+3.42) AGI: 45 DEF: 40(+0) INT: 10(+27) WIS: 4(+13) PHY: 100
Passive 1: Mutation: - At the cost of intelligence and wisdom growth, all other stats will have an explosive increase after each deadly fight.

Passive 2: Painless: - due to the consumption of a dubious potion, the body became incapable of feeling any kind of pain or pleasure.
Passive 3: Orc Pride: When HP falls below 50%, ATK and DEF increase by 100%.
Passive 4: Commander:- The subordinates who are loyal to the owner will have their overall stats increased by 5% when in his presence.
Passive 5: Revenge:- every orc subordinate dies in the battle, strength, speed, and defense will increase by 1% for 1 hour.
Passive 6: Axe Mastery Lv 9
Skills:
Orc Roar (Lv 10)(5 STA), Explosive Might (Lv 10)(20 STA), Defence Boost (Lv 7)(20 STA), Mountain Cleave (Lv 3)(50 STA), Might Stomp (Lv 4) (20 STA)
No wonder the orcs were stronger than the mutated goblins. Gyuk’s stats were enough to solo the whole goblin tribe. Now I understood why Logier came alone to this floor and was even confident in taking over this floor alone. They were really strong. I also understood the logic behind those humans who looked like they would shit their pants just from the mere sight of Logier. From this, the dividing line between orcs and mutated goblins became more apparent.
I inspected my surroundings soon after I took over. I was standing in a cave system with well-proportioned and polished walls. Behind me was a tightly sealed door, made out of some unknown(to me) material. According to Gyuk, this place was the front door of Goblin Lord’s place, which he called the lab. I became even more confident that this goblin was a reincarnator like me. After all, the word ‘lab’ was something only humans know the meaning of, and use to explain places that deal with chemicals and stuff.
There was a reason why I didn’t consider this person was from the earth, like me. There were alchemists and apothecaries in this world who also deal with things related to chemicals, so assuming this goblin to be an Earthling would be a silly mistake on my part. Currently, the Goblin Lord was inside the lab, experimenting on something. However, my target wasn’t him.
Controlling Gyuk’s body, I followed the path mentioned by Gyuk, the path leading to the cave system that was the Goblin General’s abode. According to the information I gathered from Gyuk, this Goblin General is the main person who controls the military. If I can have him under my control, I can have the whole goblin army act as my underling. Therefore, I possessed Gyuk’s body to meet with this Goblin General. My plan was to either have that general under my control with Nightmare Seed or kill him.
Gyuk mentioned previously that he wasn’t even able to take a single punch from this guy, which meant this goblin was more powerful than a normal adult orc. However, no matter how strong that goblin general was, if it’s INT and WIS couldn’t surpass mine, ultimately it would fall victim to my illusions.
When I arrived at the mouth of the cave that was the home to Goblin General, I saw two burly and powerful looking goblins guarding the gate. Without bothering to talk with them, I simply pointed my thick fingers towards them, and whispered, “Cast Illusion” before putting them both in a suspended state.
This time I used the skill twice, which would have cost me two MP. But, due to this possession state, It cost me 3.8 MP, which was 90% more than 2 MP. The two goblins continued to stand outside, but the only difference was that their eyes were glazed, lacking the vibrant glow it had before.
“Hmm! Why did you come here? Didn’t the Lord ask you to guard his lab? Did he sent you on an errand?” As soon as I entered the dim room, I heard a roaring voice that comprised of growls and snorts. Then I saw the owner of the said voice, a huge goblin… at least comparable to Logier’s full height, sitting on the ground while munching on a fat piece of meat. Despite looking like a common adult goblin, there were a few things that set it apart from them.
First, its height. Then its eyes. An adult goblin would have pupil-less blue eyes. However, this goblin general had pupils and its sclera was milky, not unlike that of a human’s. Then its forehead had two red horns sticking out, pointing downwards. It also had two white teeth sticking from the lower lips of its mouth. Physically, it looked even more buffed than Logier and Gyuk combined.
No wonder Gyuk couldn’t take a single punch from this guy.
“Cast Illusion” I mumbled while pointing my index finger to the face of the goblin general.
Target is now under the effect of the illusion created by the user. It will remain under the illusion for the next two minutes.
-1.9 MP
You have used Nightmare Seed on the target. A magic seed has been planted. It will take five hours to completely sprout and become a Nightmare Tree.
-2.8 MP
I smiled at my success. It was a gamble from the start. If the goblin could resist my illusion skills or Nightmare Seed, I would have to fight it out with the strength of Gyuk’s body. At the same time, I would have to kill this person(goblin), which might have ultimately killed Gyuk.
I ended the skill and even pulled out my consciousness from Gyuk’s body, but not before giving him a suggestion. Actually, it wasn’t even a suggestion, but an order, and that was to start the coup de’at. I had him attack indiscriminately, and create as much mayhem as possible.
Opening my eyes, I looked at the two orcs who were standing guard and asked, “Where is Logier?”
“Chief is currently taking care of the wounds. He should be there together with other leaders.” One of the orc guards answered earnestly. Nodding to them, I stood up and slowly walked towards Logier’s location. It was time for us to stage an all-out attack and take over the goblin habitat for the last time.
Before that, I had to wait for the Nightmare Seed to bloom inside that goblin general’s heart. To catch the goblin lord with his pants down, I pulled all the stops and manipulated the situation to my favor.
