《A Soul's New Home》A Soul and Its Vessel 4

In this world, there is a thing called 'consequence'.
Every action done is paired with a responsibility. If you want to do something, you have to face that responsibility.
I just learned that first hand.
I hadn't thought it through properly and now I might have done something outrageous.
From the expression of the two female humans that I saved, what I've done is clearly not normal.
Now, what should I do...? Clearly, they're afraid of me and if I leave now, they might warn other humans from me which makes it harder for me.
And who knows when I would be able to find other humans. They also have this delicious blood... I would most certainly crave for this taste again. I might go berserk like what Lacorte told me.
Right... I could threaten them...
... Bad idea.
Ah, seems the one with the yellow long hair and large chest is awake now.
Maybe I should let them run away, then follow them? They could lead the path towards where other humans might be.
...good idea.
Then I'll just sit here then and wait for them to go away. I'll finish up the rest before following them. They have a scratch here an there so I may be able to track them even if they're far away by the scent of their blood.
But even after an hour has passed, they're still here...
They just simply sat there, squishing each other and staring at me with stiff expressions. The one with the black short hair looks to be trying to hide the yellow long haired one.
They still seem to be wary of me.
After a couple of minutes more, I'm finally done feeding off of this body here. I dug a hole for the three bodies so those wolves won't be able to snatch them.
But for these two... I don't know what to do with them and I don't know what they want. I wish they could be less wary of me if they're just going to stay here.

Even when I just glanced at them, they'll immediately flinch. Is killing a member of their own species in front of them just that scary? I'll have to take note of that.
Ah... I only noticed now but it seems to be getting dark. I doubt humans can see well with little light.
... Maybe I could make a fire? I'm not weak against it now that Lacorte removed it so it should be perfectly safe to make one.
But how do you make one exactly? Can I even make it? Maybe it's supposedly something naturally occurring.
When I looked back at the two again, I noticed they're shaking. It's a different kind of shaking. One that wasn't caused by fear but rather one caused by a change in temperature. They must cold right? I guess it's getting dark. Then all the more reason why I need that fire.
Wiping off the blood from my mouth and cheek, I immediately went off to work.
More specifically, I looked into the box thing that they have. I believe it's called a carriage? A thing for transportation? That makes sense then to why they're here. Using this thing to travel from where they came from to somewhere they want to go to. Then something happens that made them halt their progress.
If I'm reading it right, then maybe those males I killed might be the one responsible for that halt? Then somehow those males have a culture of eating females? It could be or maybe I'm wrong.
Quite an unappetizing thought but as if I can talk though. I just recently drained the blood from one of them.
For now, I should search the inside of this carriage.
As expected there are a lot of unfamiliar things inside. Rather a lot of this single type of thing. Books.
I learned they're for 'reading' but it's not like I can understand what 'reading' even is. Would reading involve this strange symbols? Letters are what they're called.
When I grabbed one of them, the long-haired one suddenly stood up rush at me while the short-haired one stopped her.

This might be something important to her then. I don't want to needlessly cause more trouble than I currently did.
Then, a sudden gush of wind hit us. The long-haired immediately sat down and try both huddled together once again, visibly shaking.
Right. They're definitely cold. Nighttime is certainly cold and personally don't mind that coldness but for these humans, who are in the warm side of the spectrum naturally, they might think otherwise.
I should get that fire started quickly.
There must be something here that I could use.
After rummaging around for a moment, I finally found something. A rolled up piece of paper with an ominous feeling.
It's called a scroll apparently and it emits this strange aura that screams danger and fire. Is this fire? I don't see any correlation of it being related to sunlight whatsoever.
Maybe those two humans might be able to do something.
Since they're wary of me, I'll just throw the scroll thing towards them and have them figure something out.
Tossing them the scroll they looked at me confused. They then glanced at each other and then back. Repeating that a couple of times, they stood up and headed for somewhere. Have they thought of something? They're pretty skilled at walking while only using their legs. Maybe that's the standard?
After a couple of minutes, they came back while holding onto some branches that look to be freshly pulled off from a tree.
They then place these branches in an orderly fashion, stacking them with one another until they formed a little structure.
The short haired one then pulled out the scroll and pointed the side with strange symbols written on them towards the structure that they made.
[••••••••.]
After saying something, suddenly, a bright red ball came out of the paper and hit the structure, lighting it on 'fire'.
So this scroll is able to produce fire, huh? That's why the scroll screams fire when I get close to it. A fire capable of lighting things on fire.
Fire is really odd. It dances around in the air as it flickered. So this is my supposed weakness? It's quite enchanting.
While I was staring at the fire, long-haired one said something at me with a smile on her face for some reason. While the short-haired one said to her of what sounded like her refusal, she just rubbed the short-haired one's head.
I don't know what they're telling me to do. I should have asked Lacorte to give me some kind of power to understand the humans in this world...
Then, the long-haired one stood up and approached me. She then held out her hand towards me for some reason. Is she saying that I could drink her blood? No no, I don't believe that's the case. They were pretty scared when I drained the blood of that guy so I don't think she would willingly give her blood to me.
So what is this 'action' supposed to mean?
When I didn't respond, she grabbed my hand instead. So this is how you respond to that.
She then dragged me towards where they're sitting.
Or is she? Is she planning to drag me towards the fire? Did she realize that I'm a vampire!? Probably not.
Though, the fire feels nice. Can't believe that vampires are weak against this. Although, I have this lingering fear of it.
It seems like the short-haired one is against me being here.
I guess it's understandable. Although I don't know much about the residents of this world, their culture and how they treat each other. I wish to learn it all in the future. Maybe if I learned that, they'll be less afraid of me.
And even though I couldn't exactly communicate with them, just being close to someone like this feels nice. Definitely beats my time of having to spend a thousand years alone.

Everyone is a Superhero! Apart from me
Welcome to Loktharma, where everybody is a superhero from birth. That makes Eugene De Lavet the most special of them all. At eighteen years old, he still has no clue what his superpower is. Loktharma has never been a fair world. There are Worldbreakers who were born to brandish the power of the universe, warp time-space, destroy lands and continents. There are Craftmasters who control the elements and terrorize countries with their might and wits. There are Commoners who are only gifted with power for the finer arts, architecture, military arts, or small-scale elemental manipulation. Even in an unjust world like Loktharma, there is always one constant: everyone is assigned a Flair since birth; the power to do something extraordinary. And then there's Eugene. He's been running around in a secluded forest since birth, training and sparring his ass off. While he can wield a blade better than most at his age, he certainly can't throw a giant boulder using the power of his mind, or turn his skin into diamonds. He has no Flair, no purpose for leveling up his stats, and no idea why General Rizeni Baggardo keeps him confined inside a forest for eighteen years. At least until Lord Pyro—the Craftmaster of Tailiah—unleashes his fury on the forest, searching for a treasure Eugene doesn't even know exists. On a frantic escape for his life, Eugene starts to realize he was a part of something he's been completely oblivious to until now. Along with his companions, Melodi and Azra, he travels the land and unveils the secrets of the world. [The story will be told primarily through the lenses of three main characters, with occasional side character POV chapters. It also draws inspiration from Japanese shounen. So only proceed if you're cool with these aspects.]
