Day 4,690

The Aloraks are now big enough to hunt on their own.

For the past forty days, we have grown fond of Lorhan and Irel. They are caring toward their handlers, and they seem to adore Eina. In a few occasions, they were quite mischievous. But they did nothing too dangerous that would have placed us in harm's way.

There is a public hatchery we often visited with them. And it was there where they learned the ways of their kind after interacting with fellow Aloraks. After all, they are social creatures, and it is not uncommon for orphans to learn from older ones.

As soon as they knew how to fly and hunt, we let them roam outside the city. Fortunately, Thuron has developed monster collars and bracelets. With these items, the handlers could tell if their familiars have been injured or kidnapped, so we were never worried for them.

Now that taking care of them has become easier, we foçused our attention on the wyvern egg. It still has not hatched, though it was rocking a little today. That was the first sign of increased activity from the hatchling, so we are getting excited. Twice Irel tried to warm the egg, much to our amusement. She probably thought it was her egg, even though she is still too young to mate.

In any case, our business is growing. The Galfrins, when we are not hunting and using them as mounts, are a good source of money because of their spoors. Farmers often use the dung as fertilizers, so a sack fetches quite a price in the market. It may be a bit messy when we gather our 'harvest', but no one is complaining.

Except Eina. She still hates these chores.
