In the Atrexia kingdom, the Emperor and Empress were sitting in their private chambers and a serious expression was visible on their face. The declaration of Zenids and Millers had created a great wave in the imperial court. It was extremely clear for all to see that the Millers and Zenids had formed an alliance and had decided to use the Ragebergs as well. Emperor Desborn Atrexia and his wife the Empress Alice Atrexia were the leading force in the Empire at the current moment. As Atrexia and Joss family had been historical allies, their alliance had 3 active and one hibernating perfect realm experts, giving them a majority.

But, with Jerome and Reez obtaining a heavenly life treasure from the Ragebergs, their alliance also had 3 active perfect realm experts. The balance of power between these two factions had been balanced out. While the imperial side still had an extra perfect realm hibernating ancestor, it was well known that he would die in a few years if he were to get out of sealing. It was only a symbolic representation. While the human's strength had increased by obtaining two active perfect realm experts - that too in the late stage - it had also created a power struggle. And the imperial side was weaker. Though there would not be a change in the ruling dynasty now, both Desborn and Alice knew that this was a foundation for the future rise of Michael Rageberg. As long as he reached the perfect realm, he would be crowned as the human emperor.

They were both having a discussion on what should be done.

Alice Atrexia : We need to do something, Desborn! You know that the kid is young now, but when he grows up and reveals his fangs, it would be too late!

Desborn : And what do you want we to do? Commit ancestral crimes to have him killed? Not only the populace lose their faith in us, there would be crazy retaliation from the Millers and Zenids. The humans would be finished! We oureslves might not survive the conflict!

Alice : Who ever asked you to take action personally? Get some assassins! The boy is weak right now. Any emperor realm expert would take the job. A saint realm would definitely guarentee it. Its not like the kid is always around experts. He would go out to adventure. We can strike at that time. You owe Ronald at least this much as his father!

Desborn : You have gone mad due to motherly love! I will not order the assassination of that kid and neither will you. Put the race first. This is my final order. If Ronald wants the throne, ask him to work harder. Still in the early emperor realm. If he does not have the ability, he should not bother!

While the conversation ended there, looking at the empress' expression, Desborn had an idea that she would try something. He did not want to be part of the crime but he would not put in too much effort to stop it either. It was due to this later that he would later regret!

Michael opened his eyes in his small make-shift hut. He had recovered from most of his injuries. Thus, without wasting more time, he made way for the ruins breaking the illusion array along the way. He hurried along not wanting to encounter any deadly beasts. He had already come close to dying twice in this time period.

He reached the ruin entrance in a little more than an hour. He could still see the devastation caused by the battle. But, most of the battle had not even been fought here. "There should be a huge patch of destroyed forest towards the west." - Michael thought. After checking the entrance, he went inside.

The inside was an underground staircase that had been broken due to shockwaves. But, the fall was not too much and Michael just jumped. He ended up in a passageway. There were 3 rooms on different sides. Michael knew that these rooms would likely be empty as the immortals would have taken everything. He kept moving till the end of the passage until he was blocked by a wall. The wall did not look anything out of place. Even Astang had not seen anything in his time here.

Michael poured out his soul energy as he formed a unique pattern on the wall. The wall started glowing with brilliant colours as he formed the pattern. When the pattern was completed, the wall shone brightly before crumbling down. In his past life, the strongest experts of Aterna had not been able to break it with brute force.

Michael went inside and started looking around. As he remembered, there were four small chambers and a central tome. In his last visit, the chambers were empty but he could find that they held something this time around. Restraining his curiosity, he stepped in front of the tome and condensed his soul energy in one hand and blood vitality in the other. Then he pressed both his hands to the tome.

Micheal suddenly felt as if the world had stopped! Only he and the tome existed in the world. As he was looking at the tome, it shone brightly and lots of information flowed into him. This was the inheritance he had been waiting for. He received the inheritance for a long time. The more he knew about the inheritance, the more shocked he became.

After he finished absorbing it, he was so stunned that he was stood blankly for a good while. Then, he felt a boundless excitement course through him.

Hell, this was beyond anything he could hope for!

The inheritance of laws contained the understanding of laws of formidable experts. It would not make the one who had taken the inheritance a powerhouse but would provide a guideline or a base for them to comprehend the laws more easily. It was like a law cultivation scripture. What was shocking was this particular inheritance - Endless life scripture!

The laws that this ancestor had mastered were the laws of life! Life was one of the most profound and complicated laws. Usually, the experts would perceive elemental laws or things that they could interact with. Grand laws of life, death, etc were not easy to master. In the entire Aterna plane, there was no known ancestor who had mastered a grand law. This filled Michael with elation but what had shocked him was the level of the scripture. From the introduction, he found that Endless Life Scripture had 9 levels. And, once Michael mastered the first three levels, he could form a law body and a law soul. It was a dual immortal expert. Just after comprehending the first three levels! It said that comprehending the entire thing would place him somewhere in the lower transformation stage. Michael did not know what stage that was but he knew that now he had a way. A way to fight the devils!

The devils had experts beyond the immortal realm and no one was their match. But, as long as Michael could comprehend this scripture, he would we able to stop the devils. It was just that Michael was too naive and ignorant when he thought this as the future was much more complicated than he had expected at the time.

After getting the inheritance, Michael started to read through the first level of the scripture. He was hoping to comprehend something. The first chapter talked about life energy.

Life energy is the base of all life in the space layer. If one wants to learn the secrets of life and existence, one msut start at life force. Life energy is in all living beings and even in avatars! To master it, one must learn to feel its presence. Then the next step would be to learn to control it and to grow it. Once this step is done, it is to understand the law behind the operation of this energy. This would bring one on the level to control one's own life energy. Then one would be able to learn the second chapter. To percieve this energy, one must focus on their body and soul and "feel" life. The feeling of life is not easily grasped! Only after learning to percieve this feeling at all times can one delve into the actual law comprehension.

The next steps showed some methods that the senior had used to "feel" life. Michael could not make sense of much but he knew that the best thing to do as was told and practise those techniques. While he tried those exercises, he could feel a small feeling. It was unclear and ephemeral. It was the feeling of life energy according to the scripture. But the feeling was not easily grasped. Even after hours of meditation, Michael did not make any progress. This caused his mood to sour. He was expecting this encounter to increase his power as well. He did have a path but it was not easily travelled.

If the creator of the tome were to look at Michael's talent, he would have been shocked out of his mind. This kid in king realm could grasp the beginning of a grand law! This was simply a talent that stood at the peak of all the existences he had seen. Even in all the planes he would have visited, Michael's talent in law comprehension would have been at the top. It was just there was no one to tell Michael about this. Thus, he felt dejected.

But, after feeling frustrated for a bit, he decided to get a move on. If fate was so easily changed, it would have been too easy. He had obtained a path, all he could do was to walk it diligently. It must be noted that Michael was the only one who could practise the scripture. This was how inheritances were. If he wanted to share an inheritance, he would have to reach the same level of law comprehension as the expert who created it. Michael also did not have any plans for sharing this information. Immortals already had their law path and it would not help them. As for the rest, he did not consider them necessary! After all, everyone had their lucky chances. He was not obliged to share his when he did not have the ability to either.

Michael was going to leave but he ha noticed a few things and wanted to check out the other chambers before leaving.
