The door stood before two individuals covered in moss, sealing the entrance.
"So I guess, we're supposed to enter via the hole over there?" asked Matthew.
"Sounds good" Dominic replied.
Dominic armed himself with two pistols. Plasma pistols that he had bought quite some time ago. They run on basically batteries, rechargable ones, and can last for up to as long as 3 days continuously firing. They were great for preventing himself from destroying the surroundings whenever he fought.
"Ooh, so you use pistols? Are you a gunslinger?" Matthew asked. Though the guns Dominic equiped were some rather old models. They were easily out classed by any other weapon for sale now.
"Sort of" Dominic replied. It seemed rather cool to be a gunslinger where the very best was known to have cleared a S rank dungeon alone. The assasins were more popular since the highest one cleared solo was done by one from the assasin class. Since they could sneak past all the way to the boss rooms, it was much easier.
"So, as a scout, I'll hide us in magic." Matthew casted some strange aura over both of them. Though, the aura comming towards Dominic passively dipassitated.
"That's strange? Why doesn't it work?" Matthew wondered.
"Oh, I'm unable to recieve any magical buffs. Part of the restrictions of my class" Dominic smoothly covered it up.
"Its fine, let's just go in" Dominic said.
And Matthew obliged.
"So, let me mark the map as we go" Matthew enabled some skill on his system. Dominic noticed a virtual map popping out.
"Must be nice to have such a convinient skill" Dominic thought.
The zombie at the front, instead of charging towards them, appeared to cautiously approach them. In which, Dominic shot it in the head.
The dungeon was completely different from its surroundings. Its walls were covered with completely non-understandable writings or scribblings. There were nothing but zombies roaming around, they appeared to react only to the sound. Dominic tested it out, as he stood still in a crowd of zombies.

"Zombies use echolocation" Matthew noted down.
In a blink of an eye, Dominic cleared all the zombies around, as a hole bore its way accurately in their heads.
"Pew pew pew" Dominic made sound effects, since the plasma pistol was rather silent.
"Hahhahhahahha. Woah nice" Matthew commented, as he couldn't help laughing after Dominic started to kill the zombies while making some toy gun shooting sounds.
"No wait a minute" Matthew said.
"We have to leave some for the adventuring group you know?" he told Dominic to stop.
And they continued deeper into the dungeon.
Halfway through, the dirt floors turned into stone, as they continued down a straight path in a large hollow room. Matthew found his leg stepping upon a trap, as the ground slightly caved in, revealing spikes that shot out from the sides.
"Traps! This isn't supposed to be on the first floor of a D rank dungeon" Matthew shouted, as Dominic pushed him away from the incomming spikes.
His voice appeared to have gotten the attention of the zombies behind.
The dungeon was dimly litted up by the slightly glowing inscriptions on its walls and floors. Blue writings on grey stone walls. Quite a classic dungeon.
"You got some trap seeking skills?" Dominic asked.
"yeah, I'm already on it" Matthew replied.
From what Matthew could tell, Dominic had some serious skill with guns. "As expected of someone from the same bloodline as Benedict, they aren't ordinary" Matthew thought.
A yellow coloured light seeped out from Matthew, and shot towards various places around the floor.
"That's where the traps are" Matthew said.
"Don't tell anyone about this" Matthew told him as well. This was a high-level magic which only vertan scouts or thiefs could use. Not like Dominic understood what was so amazing about it.
They continued onwards, and came face to face with a spiral staircase leading downwards. But the problem here was that it was also highlighed in yellow.
"Stairway traps? No way, only B rank dungeons have them!" Matthew was suprised yet again.

Suddenly, the ground they stood on started to lower. Or more accurately, after Dominic poked a button hidden nearby behind a rock, it started to lower.
"Nice, how did you find it?" Matthew asked.
"It was covered in a illusion spell" Dominic replied. He had noticed a strange aura comming from behind the rock, where a button was hidden in some fog.
"You can see the flow of magic?" Matthew was suprised.
"Keep it a secret alright?" Dominic said. He didn't know being able to see it was out of the ordinary.
"Then you're a magician?" Matthew asked.
"Uh. No." Dominic replied.
"Can't use magic after all" he said.
Now that Matthew had noticed it, he couldn't feel the mana pool of Dominic, actually he could but it was so little, even less than a newborn child.
"ooh." Matthew slightly felt abit awkward.
"Wait a minute, we were only supposed to explore the first floor!" Matthew shouted, however the hole above sealed up.
"Blocking the exit?! Is this some sort of A rank dungeon?!" Matthew screamed. He was just an ordinary youth with plenty of dungeon experience. His parents were rather well-known scouts, and had brought him for alot of trips since he was little.
"You seem to know alot about dungeons?" Dominic asked.
"Yeah, I've been going with my parents since I was ...oops" Matthew realised he slipped up.
"Must be nice."Dominic replied.
"Come to think of it... I heard that they didn't have parents." Matthew recalled a rumor.
What awaited them on the 2nd floor below, was a bunch of skeletons, dressed in chain armor, weilding various classical weapons.
"...." Matthew was speechless.
"Let's go" Dominic announced. As his guns fired off and reloaded so quickly Matthew had trouble seeing the movement of Dominic's hands and fingers.
When he saw the horde below, Matthew was already thinking of a way to escape. Yet, it seemed rather hopeless. The second floor had a extremely wide area filled with random stone walls here and there. And it was swarmming with equipped skeletons. They were at least an A rank. When put together, they were categorized as an A rank.
Matthew took out his small dagger. Prepared to fend off against whatever comes near.
Yet, before he could do anything, holes had found their way through the heads of the skeletons. With deadly precision. The area that was laid visible to them was cleared out before he even realised.
"Let's go" Dominic said again.
"The...the loot!" Matthew panicked.
"Store the money, the items are worthless" Dominic told him.
You have recieved 4098 credits from Matthew!
Dominic got an anouncement.
He sent it back.
"Just keep it." Dominic said.
"But I... I didn't do anything" Matthew muttered.
"Then take it as a sort of favour, if you see anyone of my siblings in danger next time, be sure to help them alright?" Dominic said.
"Who knew, this beta was actually such an Alpha" Matthew smiled, as he folllowed along.
Matthew came from a long line of servants since the start of the world. In which most of his family ends up as scouts or butlers, or maids to serve someone. They take pleasure in helping someone else succeed in life, quite a strange fetish that runs in the blood of his family. Hence his position as a constant Beta.
Even his first ancestor, one of the wielders of the 13 Genesis weapons, served under a hero to stop the origin war in the past. It wasn't really uncommon. After all the academic city was world reknown. To be world reknown in this gigantic ever growing world, was quite a feat.
"Of course" Matthew unconsciously took pleasure in following after Dominic.

8 275Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri-Sat, 10am Central/ 3pm GMT. ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.

Perry Z has a Magical Destiny.Born to a Magical Fantasy Princess and a nine-to-five Supervillain, Perry's never felt...adequate. He's completely magically dull, and without a scrap of superpowers. When The System boots, he's forced to follow in his father's footsteps, but he'd rather take after his mother.Maybe there's a way he can do both... This is Macronomicon's take on a lighthearted slice-of-life superhero story. It is one of mine, though. So...you should know what you're getting into =P The Worldbuilding is primarily inspired by Superminion, which was in turn inspired by Worm. The explicit content tags are so if I decide to dip a little dark later down the line, you can't say I didn't warn ya. Except the cussing. That's there from the beginning. I tried to tone it down but a little just slipped in there.
