3rd POV

"So this is where people come and have fun?" asked Titania.

"Yes, well for most cases, its pretty fun in here?" replied Michelle.

"What's this?" Titania asked, as she took a look and pointed towards the blackjack table, more accurately, she was asking about the cards held within the hands of the players.

"Oh that? Its a game. Though it might look like a simple game of luck, there are various tricks and secrets to it as well" Michelle replied.

The two of them had hit it off, after living together for around a week or so. At first, Titania had a really arrogant and oppresive behaviour, so Michelle corrected that with her preaching. Since her current self was weaker than Michelle, she had no choice but to recongise her as a formidable opponent.

"Look over there" Michelle said, pointing at a player with the cards 5 and 10.

"Its a psychological warfare between the players and the banker. Although luck does play an important role, however that'll only happen when you won with a blackjack right off the bat."Michelle said.

"The game is sided with the banker, as you can see, the chance of getting a blackjack at maximum would only allow 4 players to win, while the others might have a high probability to lose. So, let's say you have hit a total of 14 at the turn your card was revealed. You would have no choice but to draw the card since its below 16. However, the important part comes in at this point when your cards are above 16. The maximum you can reach before losing is exactly at 21. So then, now you have a choice. To draw the card or not to do so. To do this, you must check out the cards of other players. be it discreetly or in the open if they allowed you. From then , you could calculate the probability of going bust, or the banker going bust on his draw. And wether or not he would have beat your points." Michelle rambled on.

"I'll bet 1000 credits" Titania sat down and said.

"Were you listening?" Michelle asked her with a pout.

"Yeah yeah, all I have to do is to win right?" Titania said.

And then, the cards were distributed.

The scene moves along to a different part of Academy City. To be specific it'll be 5thDistrict Middle school. Why the name? Because its in the 5th district that's why.

"Are you alright Mitsuha?" Asked a female classmate. Going by the name of Julie. She had, a rather pleasent atmosphere around her, with twin tails, brown hair and a short figure. Her face was slightly better than the average women.

"I'm fine," Mitsuha shot her down coldly.

"As expected of the Queen~! So cold!" Julie happily screamed inside. Despite her calm and collected demeanor, she had an unexpected M side. (M is for Masochist)

"I heard she had some sort of terminal disease but I guess that's just a rumor"the surroundings begun to gossip.

"Oh Mitsuha! Today I shall be the one to defeat you!" a voice demanded from ahead. It was a guy standing at 175cm tall. Completely ridiculous for a middle-schooler if he wasn't from the rihno-tribe.

The city, is a city made centered around its students. For it serves as both an educational facility as well as a research station for the development of pisonic and magical abilities. Of course, combat and martial arts were also conisdered in their second priority.

You have been challenged by: Kituinau

Accept? Y/N

The screen popped out ahead infront of Mitsuha.

If you're wondering what this was? It was a system created by the city to discover what stands out on top in terms of battle potential. Be it magic, pisonic abilities or flat out raw strength.

"Sure" Mitsuha agreed coldy.

The rihno-tribe Kituinau rushed ahead. Using his bare hands capable of crushing rocks. Well anyone with enough strength could do that as well (15k).

Mitsuha simply stood still.

She convereged her pisonic abilities in one spot. And, as the rihno boy finally reached that spot, she smashed it down mercilessly.

The floor cracked, as the concrete floors found a new shape, with a certain individual replacing the concrete that flew out.

Without a word, Michelle carried on her slow pace to her classroom. As one could tell, she was in a rather bad mood. The reason? Well let's go back to a week ago.

"How did...how?" Mitsuha demanded an answer from her brother.

"It was a miracle done through the powers of the potato god and the almighty potatoes" was her brother's reply. Clearly, he wasn't planning or even trying to take her even the least bit seriously. Dominic had thought it was good time to convert her to his religious belief, but he thought wrong.

"Answer me!" Mitsuha was happy, yet confused. Thus she demanded so.

"Answer yourself" was the reply.

"If you don't tell me, I won't ever talk to you again!" Mitsuha pulled out a rather childish trump card, suited for a 13 year-old, or not suited at all.

"That'll be great(lol)" was her brother's reply.

Hence bringing us back to her moody temperment inside a school known as 5thdistrictmiddleschool.

Mitsuha always hated not knowing.

She wanted to know everything. How the way the pen works, The way the sun rises in an infinite world (not explained). The way day and night operates. Her standing in this enormous world.

She thought she was going to die. At the ripe age of 13. And then, her brother appeared. One which was rather foolish and yet she knew he was the most gentle one? At least towards his family. He didn't have any powers of note, he was weak (she thought) but always tried his best.

Then out of the blue, he just suddenly healed her terminal illness.

Just poof.

And it was gone.

She knows she swollowed something, but it dissapeared the moment it reached her stomach. No amount of pisonic ability was going to bring that back.

This awokened her curiosity. And yet... she was unable to find an answer. Even with the bags under her eyes, she was unable to figure out how and how exactly her brother did this.

"Hey are you alright? You seem rather upset" John, Mitsuha's self proclaimed rival as well as the person who seats next to her asked.

"Its nothing." she replied, as she pouted.

Her new expression struck into something within John's heart.

"That's unfair" he muttered.
