《They said I could become anything so I became a _____!!!》Chapter 75: Ready, set, GO!

The moment the words leave my mouth Bekkhildr disappears and the iron golems transform their arms into swords, preparing themselves to lunge at us. We immediately get closer to each other so that we stand back to back. Time to organize.
"These guys have high defense and strength but are quite slow so try to move around as much as possible. Morgana, I want you to sneak behind them and use quick attacks to disorient them, Zar, I want you to cooperate with her and freeze them to the ground, lowering their defenses while Rowan and I focus on destroying them. Rowan, it's also your job to keep them from getting to close to me, understood?"
"Understood" all of them respond before carrying out the orders I gave them. Rowan charge headfirst at the golems with two swords in hand while Morgana disappears from sight. I bring up my grimoire and start reading it. Now which spell should I use first? Let's try a Mana Lance.
I create a Mana Lance and search for a suitable target. Ah, there's one unable to move because its leg are encased in ice. The line is clear, no one is standing in the way. Perfect. Now please die. The mana lance is released from my grip and flies towards the iron golem. It hits the head which causes it to shatter. But it's not over yet. I was sure that a headshot would kill it but the golem is still standing. After a few seconds it starts to form a new head.
So it can regenerate wounds and HP? Well, it's not unusual to have that sort of skill but for it to grow a new head like that... It must be some kind of special racial skill that enables it to do so. Luckily it's not infinite. The moment it regenerated I could feel some of it's mana drain so I guess the skill needs mana to function. So the moment its MP runs out it can't use that skill anymore. But we can't just wait for it to run out by itself, it will take too long and will heighten the risk of defeat. So we need to have them run out of MP quick.
"Morgana, use Mana Leech to drain their MP, they can't regenerate if they don't have any mana!" I shout.
"Got it boss!" Morgana responds. Good, now we should have a chan-! The iron golem I just attacked suddenly appear before me, ready to strike. I instantly activate Mana Dome. The moment its attack lands on the shield I can feel it shake. That was one heck of an attack! If that had hit me I would be chicken nuggets right now!
"I'm sorry mistress!" Rowan shouts. "One of them slipped through my defenses and got to you!"
"It's ok Rowan, I can handle it! Just focus on what you're doing!" Wow, that gave me a fright. And don't worry Rowanm it was my fault to begin with. I didn't pay enough attention to the fight. Bad Ruth. You should have learned by now. Now let's deal with this nuisance.
I fire another Mana Lance towards the golem but intead of hitting it the golem dodges out of the way. Ah, so the same attack won't work twice. Well, not that it matters, I've got plenty of cards in my sleeve. Fire Breath! A cloud of fire exit my lungs and cover the iron golem which causes it to partially melt. Ah, that gotta hurt! Sorry! But at least it stopped the golem from progressing. It's stuck to the ground now but it's already starting to regenerate. Let's wear down its MP even more. I summon a Mana Sword into my hand and slash the golem across the chest multiple times. Ah, this is tough. My physical abilities are too poor. Perhaps I should start bodybuilding? Nah. Imagine a child with six pack and biceps the size of melons. That would look ridiculous! A sudden shout interrupts my thoughts.

"Watch out boss!" Morgana shouts. Eh? What's wro-AAAAHHHHH! Something grabs my ankles and causes me to fall flat on my back. Ugh, what happened? I search for the cause of my fall and immediately notice a black tendril like... thing. I dislike to think of it as a tentacle. The origin of it? The iron golem I just attacked without mercy. The tendril seems to have sprouted from its back.
Ah, I should have figured. Since they can transform their arms then they should be able to do so with the rest of their bodies. I didn't think of that.
"Mistress, I will help you!" Rowan shouts from somewhere, I can't see him.
"No need, I can handle this-!". The iron golem suddenly appears, casting its shadow over me. Oops, got lost in my thoughts again. I really need to work on that or else I might die AGAIN. The golem transforms its arm into a blade and aims towards my head. Before it can hit me I roll to the side.
I use the Mana Sword to slice through the iron-tendril binding me and jumps up on my legs. Now that the golem is in so close proximity to me I need to be even more cautious so that I don't take any damage. Heightening my defenses right now is crucial. I activate Minor Physical Buff and Earth Armor, causing pieces of rock and earth to stick to me, like a thin, protecting veil.
The golem dashes towards me but I am faster. I take a leap backwards and start firing Mana Lances like crazy. When the golem gets to close I take another leap back while continuing my RUTH-less attacks! Get it? Cause my name is- eh never mind.
About four fifths of its MP disappears as it regenerates and its moves gets slower and slower. Let's finish this thing.. One, two, three four... It takes another four Mana Lances until the Iron Golem's MP finally runs out and it shatters into hundreds of pieces, unable to regenerate anymore. Thank you Golem-san for this experience, I will never forget your sacrific- oh, I leveled up! Nice. Now how are the others doing?
Rowan have already defeated two of them (there were six of them from the beginning) while Zar and Morgana have brought one down together. So there's two left? Good work guys! Hmm, now how to deal with the rest of them... Ah! Now I know! Let's try put some more of that transformation! I tried it out a little yesterday but not for long. To see how my spells and skills affect me in my transformed state would be good to know.
I transform my legs, just like yesterday, and use Fire Step to get closer to one of the remaining iron golems, the one Rowan is currently fighting. As I thought, using Fire Step with these legs sure does make me go faster.
"Hey Rowan, would you mind if I tried something out on this one?" I ask while dodging one of the golem's slashes.
"Of course not, feel free to do whatever you want mistress. I will aid Balthazar and Morgana meanwhile" he responds, taking a huge leap backwards to give me some space to do as I wish. How thoughtful of him. Now then, to proceed with my experiment. The golem itself have about half of its MP left so this should be easy.

First I charge a Mana Sphere that I fire towards the golem's legs, causing them to shatter. The golem falls flies a few meters away before it lands flat on the ground. I won't let it get up again.
Before it can regenerate I jump high up into the air where I activate Quake Stomp and, oh you know what I'm gonna do, land my attack on the iron golem's torso. The golem shatters but that's not all of it. The ground starts to shake and cracks start to appear. Wow, that was one heck of an attack. And the iron golem... it's not regenerating. Was my attack so strong that it's MP didn't cover the skill cost? Nice.
I look around and notice that there are no iron golems left. Oh, so we're done then? Fantastic!
"Good job guys!" I exclaim while smiling. "I am proud of you!"
"Thank you mistress, we did our best!" Rowan says, kneeling in front of me. Well he sure seems happy.
"It was very insightful mother and I have learned a lot from this experience" Zar says while rubbing his head against my cheek affectionately.
"Ssuch a fun time, boss" Morgana comments. "We ssshould do thisss more often".
"Ahahaha, yes! This was really exciting" I say, agreeing with Morgana. This surely was something else. But now I wanna snuggle. I need my fluff. Babbit, let me relieve my stress on you.
*Charlottes POV*
This. Is. Incredible. I had no idea lady Ruth was so powerful! At first I was worried that those golems would be too much for her but I was entirely wrong! She was so cool, never panicking during the entire battle, always wearing a calm poker face. She was like a goddess of war out there. A tiny, incredibly cute, adorable, sugar sweet, goddess of war. Ah, I'm so happy I know her!
And her companions, OH, they were awesome! That guy with the armor, sooooo cool! The way he ruthlessly attacked those golems was really hot! Uhum, I mean, he was impressing.
But what's more, I AM SITTING NEXT TO BEKKHILDR-SAMA! I AM SO HAPPY I COULD DIE! AHHHHHHHHH! No, I need to calm down, I can't afford to embarrass myself or the other maids by acting so immaturely. I just hope that she doesn't notice my blushed cheeks...
I carefully glance at Bekkhildr-sama. Ah, she's so cool. And strong. So, so, so, SO strong. Ah, those muscles, those SCARS! I wouldn't mind dying right now.
Suddenly a bunch of explosions can be heard. I turn my attention back towards the battle and see lady Ruth creating a bunch of spears made out of light before firing them towards a golem. It's beautiful...
"That's a lot of mana..." Bekkhildr suddenly mumbles. She's been quiet this entire time so suddenly hearing her talk was unexpected.
"What do you mean?" I exclaim without thinking. I immediately cover my mouth when I realize that I have spoken to Bekkhildr. But she don't seem to mind my question, instead she answers it!
"Right now she is using up a lot of mana but I can sense that she still got plenty left. Sadly her control over it is unprofessional and about 20 out of 100% percent of her mana output goes to waste. Therefore her spells aren't used to their full potential".
"... What happens with the 20% that she doesn't use?" I ask, unable to keep back my questions. I may never talk to her again so I should take this opportunity.
"It simply disappears into the air and ground. I can see it thanks to my eyes" Bekkhildr says and points towards her grey eyes, never looking away from lady Ruth. "Oh, this is interesting!" she suddenly exclaims with an exhilarated voice.
I immediately turn my attention towards the fight and see lady Ruth, standing beside the remains of an iron golem. Ah, good work lady Ruth! Hmm? The air, it feels colder somehow. I rub my arms, trying to keep warm.
"Bekkhildr-sama, what is ha-" I say before cutting myself of midsentence. The only thing I can do is stare at what's happening in front of me.
Lady Ruths legs start twisting and bending. A disturbing snapping sound can be heard, as if her bones are breaking. Despite this Lady Ruth does not show any sign of being in pain, no, she's smiling instead. After a few seconds the transformation ends and the result is a pair of legs, similar to the hind legs of a beast, covered with beautiful silver feathers. Protruding from her feet are black claws, digging into the ground.
It's beautiful.
Suddenly her legs catch fire and she appears beside the armored man that's busy fighting one of the golems. I-I didn't even see her move! That was way too fast! I glance at Bekkhildr and notice that she is smiling. Ah, she's so cool.
The armored man suddenly leap backwards and join the other two fighting another iron golem, leaving lady Ruth alone with the one he just fought. What is the meaning of this?
Lady Ruth fires a ball of pure light towards the iron golem's legs, causing them to shatter and fly backwards. Then, without giving it a chance to get up, she jumps high up into the air before landing a kick on the golem's chest. For a half second nothing happens, but then the ground around the cracks open and start to shake, the golem shatters and I am hit by a shockwave.
A-a-ah. What was that? Such power, such force... It was amazing! My heart beat so fast and I got dizzy from all of that excitement! You are so adorable lady Ruth!

8 364Will You Be Alone? After The End? Don't You Know We're All Still Here?
More than a century ago the world was devastated, but that doesn't matter. Nobody cares about the past, stories from that time are as wildly conflicting as they are ridiculous--when any stories exist at all. There are problems in the here and now that need to be dealt with, bringing the past into things isn't going to help anyone. The fact is that young people all over the world are developing mysterious powers, and the public reactions to these powers are far from positive. Fair enough, you might say. Who wants a young man around who can conjure heat from the palm of his hand? How deeply undesirable is a girl who can bend your emotions to her will? What use, I ask you, is a girl whose very essence crackles with lightning? No use at all, I'd say. As for this so-called Mr Fin and his grand ideals, well, all I can say is that his clothing is of better quality than his plans. Vague allusions to a 'sanctuary' and a 'mysterious and powerful statue' are all very well, but when it comes to solid results I fear you may find him somewhat lacking. Mark my words and mark them well, following one such as him will only lead to tears. All in all, I'd say there's not much you could reasonably expect from a world such as this. Conflict, perhaps. Hardship, certainly. Despair, heartache, loss... ...hope? No, don't be ridiculous. Where could one find hope, in this ruin of an existence? Honestly, I am asking. Where?Discord
