《They said I could become anything so I became a _____!!!》Chapter 68: What I am

Ugh, my head... What happened? I remember... the battle at Ozlem... Rowan and I used symbiosis and then... the Lich king!
I sit up and scan the area. I am no longer in the throne room but in a room that's at least the size of an expensive apartment. The room is decorated with large paintings and sculptures, most of them depicting large battles or monsters.
I am currently sitting in a bed large enough to fit at least five people, with sheets made out of red silk. It's fluffy... No! Concentrate! I need to think!
The Lich king, Orethon I think was his name, seems to not mean me any harm the way he have treated me but I know nothing about him other than that he's extremely powerful, leads a huge army of undead and seems to be bipolar. The humans don't trust him and seem to think of him like something of a devil. But at the same time, I am not much better. My race is considered "evil" by humans as default it seems.
Did he seek me out because of my race? But it seems that he have known about me for a long time...
((Morgana, are you there?)) I ask, worried that he had gotten her too.
((Yeah boss, I'm here)) Morgana answers.
((Thank god, I thought he had put you somewhere else too)).
((Nah, I'm too quick. The moment he took ussss to this place I returned to the Ssstorage. Knew I wouldn't be able to be much help if I got caught too)).
((Do you know where Rowan is?))
((Sorry boss, after you passed out they took you too this room so I don't know anything more))
((Ok, thank you Morgana. And how are you Balthazar?))
((I'm ok mama!)) Zar exclaims. ((Zar looked after mama when she slept!))
((Hehe, good job Zar)). Good, they are ok. Now it's only Rowan left. I need to find a way to get to him but I can't do it alone. I need to get backup.
I look around and notice a large door at the opposite end of the room. Slowly I slide out of bed. It's first at that moment I realize I am not wearing my usual clothes. I am currently dressed in a white nightgown made out of silk reaching down to my ankles. Who change my clothes? And how did they know my sizes?
... Perverted Lich...
I approach the door and activate Sensor. There are some beings nearby but not too close. Carefully I open the door.
I enter a large hallway decorated with even more pieces of art. Uhm, the ones that are nearby are to the right so let's go to the left!
By using Sensor, Stealth and Shadow Cloak I am sneakily avoiding all life signs. I don't wanna get caught. But after I escaped from the room it seems like there's a lot more people walking around. Are they searching for me? I wish I had my grimoire with me, in case I need to fight. And these clothes... I feel exposed.

Suddenly I can feel someone getting closer at a fast pace. I need to hide. Even if I have these stealth skills I can't become invisible. I look around and find another door. The room is empty. With the person getting closer I have no other choice but to open the door and head in.
Compared to the earlier room this one is much, MUCH smaller. There's a lot of brooms and brushes in here and it smells of soap... Is this where they keep their cleaning stuff? Neat. I can scrub myself to freedom. Y. A. Y.
Hmm? Wait, is that... maid clothes?
... Oh this is gonna be fun.
*Ten Minutes Later*
It's a little big but it's closest to my size. Mhm, looking good, looking good. I never thought wearing a maid outfit could be this fun.
I take one of the brooms and head out the hallway. Hopefully I will blend in amongst the other maids. Now let's-!
"Hey! You!" somebody suddenly shouts. I flinch. A-already? I turn around. In front of me stands a tall woman, also wearing a maid outfit. She's got short red hair and big round eyes the same color as the sky. But her skin... It's blue and she's got a large horn on her forehead.
"M-me?" I ask, pointing at myself questioning.
"Yeah, you! Have you seen Tyra anywhere?". Who?
"Uhm, no, I'm sorry" I say.
"Dammit, just when I need her she always disappears!" the horned woman exclaims with an irritated voice. "I will make sure to- wait, I haven't seen you before" she comments, looking at me suspiciously. Oh no.
"I am, uhm, new here!" I say. Wow, good job me. I'm really no good under stress. No intelligent being would ever believe-
"Oh, so that's it!". Huh? "My name is Charlotte Viskas, nice to meet you!" she says while smiling, stretching out her hand offering a handshake. I take her hand.
"M-my name is Ru- uhm, I mean my name is... Olga! Olga... Presley!". Are you serious? Olga Presley? This is not my day. Luckily Charlotte does not seem to suspect me. Maybe I can take advantage of this. Ok, scam mode on. "Uhm, miss Charlotte? Can I ask you something?" I say, using my most harmless voice.
"Of course! And no need to call me miss, Charlotte is just fine!". Oh, she's so kind. I feel bad for tricking her. Kinda.
"It's a little embarrassing but... Could you please show me the way to the exit? I am supposed to meet someone there but I can't find it...". I squeeze out a little tear that I carefully wipe away.
"Oh, don't worry Olga! A lot of people get lost in the beginning but I will help you! Here, take my hand and I will lead you there!"
"Thank you Charlotte-san!" I exclaim happily, giving her a warm smile. And so I take her hand and we head towards the exit. On the way there we talk a little about various things. Nothing to complicated, just simple things like how big the castle is (yeah, apparently it's a castle!) and how Charlotte used to get lost all the time in the beginning. I would have never had a chance to find the exit without her help.

"Charlotte-sama!" a high pitched voice suddenly shouts and another maid comes running at us. She's shorter than Charlotte but taller than me and her long strawberry blonde hair is put up in a high bun. She could easily pass as a human if it wasn't for her one giant eye.
"Oh, hi Miriam, have you found Tyra? Or did they perhaps find the young lady?" Charlotte asks.
"Uhm no, we haven't found either of them but we are on our- Oh, who is this?" Miriam says, noticing me hiding slightly behind Charlotte.
"This is Olga and she is new here! She got a little lost so now I'm showing her to the exit. Olga, this is Miriam!"
"H-hello" I stutter, sounding as shy as possible.
"Oh, how cute! Nice to meet you! But can I please borrow Charlotte a little?".
"O-ok".
"Thank you Olga! Now, apparently the young lady was last detected heading this way" Miriam says. I gulp. Are they talking about who I think they are talking about?
"Really? I haven't seen her at all!" Charlotte exclaims.
"Well, we don't know what she looks like, we were to meet her today, so she could be anyone! So we need to watch for people we haven't met before!". Oh no, please don't say anything more. Don't think about me. I am not here.
"Yeah, we need to be perceptive! The young lady is obviously very skilled, being able to avoid Wilma-samas detection like that! Well, I will continue searching for the young lady after I help Olga get to the exit. Bye!". Charlotte wave Miriam off and we continue walking. I breathe out. I made it out-
"Wait a minute..." Charlotte and Miriam suddenly says at the same time. They both turn towards me. Oh no.
"Olga, would you mind telling me who you are going to meet at the exit?" Charlotte asks.
"Oh, it's an old friend!" I say, trying to stay calm. I am starting to sweat. Stay cool, you can do this...
"Where does this "friend" of yours come from?"
"... Imarunaway" I say and start start running. Behind me I hear Charlotte and Miriam shouting but I won't stop. They are calling for backup. I put a sealing rune behind me so that the one that chases after me will get stuck, slowing them down.
There it is! The exit! It's... bigger than I thought. Can I even open it? I gotta try! Minor Physical Buff!
I rush towards the gates and when I'm just a few meters away I jump and land a kick on it using Quake Stomp. The gate starts creaking and slowly opens up. The opening is small but it's big enough for me to get through. I slink through the gap.
A cold wind hits me. As I look around I can only see a desolate landscape made out of rocks and sand. I can't see any roads nor any other civilization. How do I get out of here?
A sudden roar causes me to freeze. I look up and instantly my jaw drops. A giant dragon, soaring in the sky. It flies lower and lower until it lands on the ground. When it does it starts shrinking and turns into... the pervert Lich king, Orethon. Damn it.
Orethon rushes towards me and for a moment I think that he's mad at me but...
"My dear Songbird, that was amazing! To be able to escape from the castle without any battle! As expected of my master!" he says as he kneels in front of me. I cannot help but imagine how his eyes would sparkle if he had any. "But please, next time you wish to leave, just tell me so that I can send some guards with you!"
"Where is Rowan?" I ask. I would feel much safer if he were by my side.
"Ah, of course my Songbird. Here he is". Rowan then appears right in front of me.
"Rowan!" I exclaim and takes his hand. "Are you ok?"
"I think so mistress but how about you? Apparently something happened" he says when he sees the clothes I'm wearing. I can't help but blush. I turn towards Orethon.
"Explain this".
"Of course my Songbird" Orethon says. "It all started long ago before this world existed. There were three gods; the goddness of light, Chreshna, Ylwa that was the goddess of darkness and... the god of balance and chaos, Hariam. They were all siblings and ruled the world that they created together. But the Chreshna and Ylwa got greedy and wanted to be the sole ruler. Hariam tried to stop them but they combined their powers to bring him down.
But they were not able to finish him. Instead they sealed him away. And with Hariam gone the endless conflict began. The world was thrown into chaos without Hariam who usually kept the balance between darkness and light. But even thou he was sealed away he still had some powers left. He searched through time and space after a soul that could help restore the balance in this world. And then he found you. A strong soul with the ability to wield his powers".
"So I am here to restore balance? But how? What can I possibly do?"
"It's simple my Songbird. You are the creator of heroes and the one that shall unite this world and stop the endless conflict. You are the weaver of tales, you are the Songbird".

RETURN, A Dark Lord story.
Return, Synopsis In the Triangulum Galaxy, one of a number of galaxies controlled by the Empire of The DARK LORD, JENNA OF CHRISTOS finds herself on the run after she killed a patrolman. Becoming pilot on a pirate craft, several years later she and other pirates are devastated by attacks of the Imperial Legion and are now trying to regroup. Seeking funds that will help them hide out for a time, their leader THURGOD DRISTA and JENNA meet with a PROFESSOR of galactic history who gives them information, a map and an ancient artifact described as a singing stone. He tells them that this could lead them safely to a legendary treasure trove, called THE DARK LORDS HOARD, on the forbidden planet TRILLA. The hoard is supposed to belong to the ruler of the empire who vanished close to one thousand years before and is presumed to be gone. The treasure is believed to be hidden in a tunnel accessible from the planet surface but no one who has gone into the tunnel has ever come out alive or sane. Leaving the pirate hideout immediately after the meeting and avoiding a major attack by the legion, the pirates travel to the galactic rim for supplies and to leave a false trail. With them they take the PROFESSOR and ILISA, a serving girl. However CAPTAIN TRASKA the commander of a Legions task force called Detachment T, has guessed the pirates intentions and tracked them to the rim. The pirates leave on their next leg to TRILLA unaware that CAPTAIN TRASKA with his force of heavy cruisers, is already there and lying in wait for them. Allowing the pirates to land, including an unexpected second pirate ship, CAPTAIN TRASKA sends a force of troopers to capture both craft and their guards. Before they can do this, THURGOD, the PROFESSOR and others, numbering thirteen altogether and led by JENNA entered the tunnel complex. JENNA, warned by ILISA that she must be the one to hold the singing stone, carries it in the hope that it will guide her and her companions past the many dangers in the tunnel. Shortly afterward, VIS VISTRICER the Legions overall commander travels to Trilla in an armoured planetoid, a spacecraft as large as a moon. On his arrival at TRILLA, VIS VISTRICER meets with CAPTAIN TRASKA but before they can do much, they are both surprised by one of the LADIES OF THE CIRCLE who is waiting for the outcome of what is happening in the tunnels. In the tunnels, JENNA leads THURGOD and the rest of party through many dangers and tests. Four are killed in the tunnels but the rest finally come to their goal where, to their surprise, in a cavern they meet the DARK LORD who is alive and very well. He has been waiting for them so he can return to the Empire. JENNA finds out that the patrol officer is alive and that she and many others have been manipulated all this time by the DARK LORD. She also finds out that ILISA, whose real name is JURA, is a member of the CIRCLE OF LADIES and was sent to teach JENNA many years before on her home planet of Christos. The DARK LORD restores and fulfills a promise to release JURA from her service as a LADY. He next has each pirate declare their own fate and takes them to the surfaces of TRILLA. There, at their election, he executes two of the pirates while JENNA is pardoned and some have the death penalty reprieved. The rest will face the courts of the Legion. VIS VISTRICER is raised to the rank of STAR COMMANDER, the highest rank in the Legion while TRASKA becomes a COMMODORE. The DARK LORD returns to Tihab, the administrative centre of the empire. There he takes up his residence in a surprised and disconcerted imperial palace. JENNA is returned by COMMODORE TRASKA to the planet Christos where she is welcomed by the planets rulers and her family, some of whom were aware of some of what was happening.

A War Beyond Kings
Author: I made som mistakes early in the story that I will have to correct, but it will take some time. I have not abandoned this story, but I will be working on my computer and will not be active on royal road. "The elves start to leave their secure forest of Silvanwood for the first time in over two thousand years. Wizards are murdered in their own homes one by one to the dismay of the Jeidan Order of mages. The ancient ruins in Agnellia seem to have awoken after thousands of years of abandon. The flames of war are brewing, and the continent of Maëgor is about to witness a war like never seen before." Author’s note: This is a serious story, loosely inspired from many great works, which you will maybe be able to identify on your own. It is entirely original though. I’ll be working on this for hours every day, but that doesn’t necessarily means that there’ll be daily chapters. I don't own the rights to the cover image, and will immediatly take it down if the author requires so. Every chapter will be at least 2000 words. And congratulations to anyone who guesses on which language the chapter titles are written in.
