《They said I could become anything so I became a _____!!!》Chapter 67: Things Are Getting Weird...

"Gyuaaahhh!" one of the undead scream as a I burn it with fire. It's really nasty and nothing I would suggest. The sound, smell and sight of it makes my skin crawl. Burning alive like that... well it's not alive but you get what I mean.
I've been fighting for only twenty minutes but it feels like hours. I'm getting tired, despite my superior tired and no matter how many I slay more always come. An army of 300 000... All undead, meaning no need for rest. And it seems that the dead soldiers are all revived as zombies and therefore their force just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
I fire a mana sphere into a horde of zombies coming in through the former gate, causing them and the aura around them to explode. Blood and organs splatter onto the people nearby but I can see no difference. They are all already covered in the remains of both enemies and former allies.
The specter I summoned is hovering around me, destroying the undead getting to close. I don't know it does it, the specter simply passes through them and they collapse, not moving again. What a scary ability.
I have leveled up a lot of spells and have leveled up 5 times already! Killing undead sure gives a lot of EXP..
Oho, that zombie is getting to close. Fire breath! Got you- huh? Suddenly something embraces me from behind. It's another zombie.
"Get off!" I shout trying to force it off using minor physical buff but to no avail. I am not strong enough. Wait, why is it not doing anything? I am helpless right now.
Before I can think about it any more the zombie suddenly release me from it's grip and fall down on the ground. I turn around and see the zombie, lying with a head split in two, on the ground. Behind it stands Rowan with his sword covered in blood.
"You worthless filth!" Rowan shout, wrath apparent in his voice. "How dare yo touch mistress!?". He start stabbing the zombie again and again, each stab more fierce than the previous one.
"Rowan, stop that!" I shout. Rowan immediately stops but he doesn't move. "I'm okay, see? So please, stop".
"I, I'm sorry mistress, its just that..." Rowan says before pausing. "I can't stand these things touching you. Therefor, can you please grant me this one selfish wish of mine; please enter Symbiosis with me".
Symbiosis; a skill Rowan have that allows him to be worn by someone else. This gives them an incredible stat boost.
... It does sound like a good idea so why not? What can go wrong? I take Rowans hand.
"Let's do it".
"Mistress!" Rowan exclaims before embracing me. A warm light surrounds us and a feeling of delight fills me. What is this? I look around and notice that I am much taller than before. Is this how Rowan sees things?
((Rowan? Are you there?)) I try asking.
((Yes mistress, I am)) he responds. ((How does it feel?))

((It's weird but not bad weird. How about you?))
((I am fine, mistress. I feel empowered. I could never imagine that mistress was this powerful)).
((That's good. Now let's kill some zombies!))
((Yes mistress!)). Just as he said that we immediately charged at the closest undead that just so happened to be a skeleton. It was as if we were one. Our thoughts were in sync and when we moved we moved together. His skills became mine and vice versa..
We dashed into the skeleton, causing to shatter completely. Skeletons have a high resistance against slashing damage but are weak against blunt attacks while it's the opposite with zombies.
Around us the soldiers are all standing dumbfounded while looking at us. Ah, they are probably wondering what's happening.
"GREETINGS" I said while raising my hand. Huh? That's my voice? It's so loud and rough. It sounds just like a mans. Suddenly an arrow is fired at us. We raise our hand immediately and catch the arrow in mid air. Wait, this arrow... it's a human-made arrow.
I look up at the crowd and see a line of archers ready to fire more arrows. "WAIT-" I say but are immediately cut off.
"Fire!!" one of the soldiers shout and suddenly a small rain of arrows approach us. Shit! Quickly we evade my rolling to the side. What are they doing!? I am on their side! Stop this!
--------------------------------------
*Third Person POV*
The moment Ruth and Rowan entered symbiosis the light that resulted from it momentarily blinded everyone on the battlefield. When they turned around to look at what had caused the light they all took a step back. They had all seen the white and golden golem fighting but this thing... this thing was different.
The shape was the same as the golem but it looked more sinister. Rowan still had the golden designs covering his body but they were now more jagged and the previously white color had now turned jet black. His horns had become longer and more crooked and one of the yellow lights that was his eyes had been replaced with a red one.
But what was worst was the aura that surrounded it. It was an aura of pure malice and bloodlust..
The humans got confused and scared but even though the thing seemed to fight against the undead they decided to attack it. Nothing so evil could be allowed to exist.
--------------------------------------
*Ruths POV Again*
This is bad! Really, REALLY bad! For some reason the soldiers are attacking me and I have no idea why! Is it because of the symbiosis? But why? And where's Philomena when you need her!? Sigh, it's to late to go back on my decision now. For now I just gotta deal with it.
But now I have to avoid both the humans and the attacks form the undead! I try not to hurt the soldiers but it's difficult not to when they are getting in the way like this.
Luckily it's easier to fight and move now. Combining Rowans fighting skills and my spells we are like a rampaging train, ramming through everything! With a sword in one hand and a grimoire in the other we are unstoppable! It's exhilarating!

A corpse eater charges at us but we simply jump high up in the air using fire step as a kind of rocket and finish it off with a single drop-kick on it's head. A group of undead approach us but a pair of mana lances quickly finish them off.
Suddenly something lands on our pack. A zombie. We activate fire coat and burn it off.
This is getting surprisingly easy. Oh, another corpse eater? Roundhouse kick! A rain of arrows? Mana dome! A wall of fire in the way? Water Beam! More zombies coming our way? Mana sword baby!
((This is going well, mistress)) Rowan comments.
((Yeah, but it would be easier is the soldiers didn't ATTACK US!))
((We could just cut them down...))
((NO WE CAN'T! Well we CAN DO IT, but we shouldn't!))
((As you wish mistress...)). Don't sound so disappointed about it! Suddenly the ground starts to shake. Is it another Corpse Eater? Well, get on with it! I am ready!
And then the earth explodes and the mere pressure from the explosion forces me backwards. Those not strong enough fly away like paper dolls. This is... new.
A thick miasma emerges from the pit created from the explosion and a figure appears. The vail of dust prevents me from seeing the form of my new enemy but I can still see enough to use appraisal.
Name: Orethon
Title: Lord of Death, King of the Underworld, God of Slaughter, Supreme Necromancer
Race: Ancient Lich King
Level: 587
HP: 556
MP: 19000
Vit. 101
Str. 87
Dex. 65
Int. 400
Wis. 600
Char. 15
Luck 56
Nope. I ain't doing this no more. I wanna go home. I am already terrified. Sooooo not cool.
((Mistress, this is dangerous. We should retreat)) Rowan says. I can feel how he's getting tense. He also knows of the danger that this foe possess.
((Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing...)). I don't like the idea to abandon all these people but I have absolutely no way of beating that thing. Sorry everyone but I don't wanna die again. I am not THAT kind.
But just as we are getting ready to flee a loud voice can be heard.
"There you are, my Songbird". Suddenly a shadow launches from the dust cloud. It startles me, causing me to take a step backwards but a hand grabs my wrist.
I can see the figure before me now. It's truly a stereotypical lich. It's body only consists of dried out, white bones and in the eye sockets shine green lights. It's dressed in a well-made black robe made out of what seems like silk. On its head it is wearing a high black crown decorated with green gemstones. So it wasn't a giraffe...
Fear takes a hold of me and I just stand there frozen. The lich grabs my other hand and goes down on his knees. What is going on!?
"My Songbird, I have waited so long for your arrival" the lich says with a low voice.
"WHA-?"
"I truly beg for your forgiveness for not finding you sooner and having our first meeting in such an inappropriate place" the lich continues ranting on, not noticing my confusion. "If things had gone as I had wished then I would have prepared a banquet to your honor and presented you with the head of our enemies later on". No please don't do that.
"WHO ARE YOU?" I ask.
"Ah, once again I have failed you! I will accept any punishment you choose! My name is Orethon and I am your most devoted follower, my Songbird".
"... WAAAAAAAH-?"
"Oh, I understand that you are confused but let's continue talking somewhere else" Orethon says while standing up, still not letting go of my wrists. "This place is not worthy of your presence".
Suddenly the space around us start to twist and the scene change. Gone is the battlefield. I am now in a large room, decorated with banners, golden statues and pieces of art.
"WHERE AM I?" I ask while preparing to attack in case this gets even weirder.
"We are currently in Azmiels throne room, my Songbird".
"AZMIEL? AND WHY DO YOU CALL ME SONGBIRD?"
"Ah, I shall explain, but first, why don't you separate from your servant so that I can see you for myself?". With a flick of his hand me and Rowan starts to shine and suddenly we are separated. "Ah, you truly are beautiful Songbird, words cannot describe-"
"How dare you abduct mistress like this!?" Rowan shouts and grabs Orethons collar. Orethon sighs.
"My, my, is this how you treat someone in front of your master? I will let you calm down". With just those words Rowan disappears.
"R-Rowan!" I exclaim.
"Don't worry Songbird, your servant is safe. I simply put him in a separate dimension so that we could talk uninterrupte- WAH!!!"
"Wh-what is it?" I ask, worried that he will suddenly attack.
"Y-y-y-your eye! It's gone! WHO DARES TO HURT YOU MY SONGBIRD!!!!!" he shouts and suddenly green flames appear around him.
"Oh, uhm, it was glutton troll but..."
"I SHALL KILL ALL GLUTTON TROLLS MY SONGBIRD FOR WHAT IT DID TO YOU NONE SHALL HURT YOU ANYMORE!!!!!!"
"T-that's not needed! I have already killed the one responsible!"
"If you say so my Songbird". His mood change a lil' bit to fast. Is he biopolar? A super strong bipolar lich king... How have this world survived for so long? "But I have to do something". Huh? What? "Stand still my Songbird".
Suddenly Orethon puts his hand over my missing eye.
"Wait, what are you- Auaaaah!!!!". A sudden pain strikes me causing me to scream. It feels likely head will split!
"Please, my Songbird, it will soon be over!" Orethon exclaims. You muthaf- Then everything goes black.
