《They said I could become anything so I became a _____!!!》Chapter 63: Let's go shopping!

Today I'm gonna spend all my time in down town. I am afraid that my little stunt yesterday might have attracted even more unwanted attention to the tavern I currently reside in and I do not want to be there in case the paladin decides to check it out.
Recently I compared my equipment with some of the other adventurers and I realised how badly equipped I truly am. So I decided to use this moment to go shopping.
But just to make things clear; I am not just walking around on the streets like a normal person. No sir. I am taking the Backstreets while using both Stealth and Sensor. Using Shadow Cloak would be just to suspicous. I will use it just in emergency.
My first stop is a shop Philomena suggested to me. According to her it sells some very good magic equipment for a good price but it's not that well know because it does not promote itself at all. Luckily she told me how to find it.
After a 10 minute walk I arrive at a seemingly rundown old building. There's no sign hanging in front of it, no windows and I wouldn't be surprised if it fell down right now. I open the door and head in.
The inside shocks me. Compared to the buildings facade the inside is incredibly neat and tidy. In the ceiling hangs a crystal that gives of a soft yellow light. The shelves on the walls are all full with different magical items. Staffs, wands, grimoires... Is that a human skull? Awesome.
For some reason the shop makes me feel all fuzzy inside...
"Who's there?" a voice suddenly calls out. I turn towards the direction and see an old man. He's dressed in simple brown robes and holds a long wooden staff in his left hand.

"U-uhm, hello! My name is Ruth and Philomena suggested this shop to me! I-I don't mean to bother you so if you are closed right now that's ok and if you worry about Money, I promise I can pay. I mean-"
"Calm down child, I am not bothered by your presence. Rather, I find it rather amusing that little Phi would trust someone enough to tell them of this place..." the man answers.
"Huh? What do you-?"
"Enough about that" he says, interupting me. "You have presented yourself and so I should do the same. My name is Accot Delmir, but you can call me Accot, I am the owner of this shop. Now I guess that you would like to purchase a magical weapon?"
"Ye-yes! That's right!" I exclaim. "But I have never owned nor wielded one before so I don't know anything about them..."
"That's not a problem. Now before we start I need to know your preferences".
"Preferences?"
"Yes, for example; do you prefer to fight head on or are you the type that fights from a distance?" Accot explains.
"Well, I prefer fighting far away but I want to be able to fight upclose to".
"A balanced fighter huh? How strong are you, physically that is?"
"I am weak..." I answer while looking down on the floor.
"That's nothing to be ashamed of child. Most mages have poor strength" he says reassuringly. "Now, do you often fight with someone else?"
"Ah, yes I do!" I say while thinking about Rowan.
"Good, good... Hmm, I think I've got the thing for you. Wait here for a second". Accot walks into another room in the back and when he comes back he's carrying something in his arms. Wait, is it a... book?

"Here" Accot says while giving me the book. "This is one of my most recent creations".
"Oh, uhm, what is it?"
"This my child, is a grimoire. It helps you concentrate your magical powers and as you grow so will it. While the pages are currently blank you can always write down your spells. When you do those spells will become twice as powerful. It will also help you to handle multiple spells at once and it cannot be destroyed my normal means".
"Wow, that's amazing! But, I don't know if I can afford it..."
"Don't worry about money my child. This one is for free".
"Bu-but-!!!" I try to protest.
"Don't worry child, Philomenas friends are my friends. Please allow this old mans gift" Accot says while giving me a gentle smile.
"O-ok! Thank you mister Delmir!" I exclaim and bow. I then exit the store while embracing the book tighly. The fuzzy feeling from the store lingers in me. I look down on the book. The red leather covering it is smooth and the yellow pages seem to emit a warm feeling. I wonder how it stats look. I activate appraisal.
Vorelim Mortalis
C-ranked grimoire
Current owner: Ruth
This grimoire was created by the master magician Accot Delmir. It grows together with it's owner. The spells written in it becomes twice as powerful and it helps the owner handle multiple spells at once. Can only be destroyed with powerful magic.
He-he's a master magician? I wonder how powerful he is? I am glad he considers me a friend.

*Accots POV*
As the child called Ruth leaves my store I sigh.
"Why did you help her?" the skull on the shelve asks. In it's empty eyesockets cold blue lights can be seen. "Why did you help a monster?"
"I don't know what you mean, Heltin" I say in a nonchalant voice.
"You can't fool me old man. I know you felt it. You even prepared to attack her". He's right. The moment she entered my store I felt the wretched monsterous aura inside her and for a moment I thought about killing her on the spot. But then I felt something else. The aura that only divine beings emit. So I decided not to attack.
"She's... something else. I have never felt something like that before".
"Hehehe! Seems like we met someone interesting! I wonder what she will become?" Heltin exclaims with a playful voice.
"Let's hope I made the right choice in helping her" is all I say. Only time will tell...
