《They said I could become anything so I became a _____!!!》Chapter 59: Mr Puffing

Wow. Simply... wow. The speed we are moving at right now is simply amazing! I've never gone this fast before.
The moment everyone had woken up we packed our stuff together and headed to the entrance of the dungeon. Philomena then threw me on her back and started running. I was confused. Even if she ran we still had to face the monsters in the dungeon at some point and it would halt our progress, right?
Nope. It was at that moment I learned the truth. They had gone easy on all the monsters we had faced so far in order for me and Leo to get the most out of this experience.
It was a massacre. Blood splattered everywhere, everything burned, screams of agony could be heard as we moved forward and they didn't even bat an eye... I am so happy they're on my side.
It took us ONE HOUR to reach the surface. ONE HOUR. And they ran through the forest, swamps and all while killing monsters left and right. Well, gotta go fast I guess.
When we reached the surface they didn't pause or anything. They just kept running.
Half an hour was all it took to reach Ozlem. Ok, but now we need to stop. I mean there's a gate in front of us. Even if there's no one in line now we can't just rush through it... Philomena? Y-you can stop now! W-w-wait! Ahhhh!
*BOOOOOOM*
Philomena fired a fireball at the gate, causing it to explode into smithereens. The guards flew a few feet but they don't seem to be hurt. Well, if you don't count their burnt eyebrows and beards.
"W-what is happening!?" one of them shouts, staggering forward with his weapon ready.
"No time to explain!!" Philomena shouts back and flicks the guards weapon away.

"I'm sooooooorry" I shout as we run past the confused guards. Poor guys. They are just doing their jobs. And to destroy the gate... I hope their boss understand that there were nothing they could have done. Well, maybe Jeanette can repair the gate with that power of hers?
We dash through the city, avoiding pedestrians as we make our way forward and we soon arrive at the guild. Like a storm Philomena hurls through the door (with me still on her back). Well, at least she's got the sense to use the door.
Already back Philo-?" (Random Adventurer)
"Shut up Jeff, this is serious!" Philomena shouts. Everybody in the guild flinches at her attitude. She is not usually like this so they must realize that something bad have happened. "Where's Jeanette?!"
"S-she left for a meeting I believe" (Random Adventurer 2)
"Where!?" Calm down Philomena, you are about to catch fire with that attitude of yours and I don't wanna die yet.
"In the capital, I believe the king sent for her" (Random Adventurer 2). For a second no one did anything and silence filled the room. Then-
"Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!" Philomena shouts and slams her fist into the wall, causing it to explode. Please stop that! Now that Jeanette's not here someones got to pay for that you know! Show some respect for the working class! Also, don't set fire on the guild again. You want Jeanette to scold you that much?
"Calm down Philomena" Gret says and lays his hand on her shoulder. "Also, you shouldn't use such language in front of a child, it will set a bad example". Oh I don't really mind but thank you for your consideration ^.^
"But, eh, Philomena" (Random Adventurer 3) "what's going on here? Why so upset?"

"'Cause we found five wraith dames in the dungeon" Bastion says. The room instantly goes quiet. Not quiet, no, it's quiet quiet. It's as if everyone is holding their breaths while sitting on eggshells.
"A-are you sure?" one of the adventurers finally asks.
"I would never mistake a wraith dame" Philomena growls between her teeth. I can't see her face from her back but I don't need to. I can feel her rage.
"T-then what should we do? If there were so many wraith dames at one place then that can only mean... A lich king is nearby..." Silence again.
A lich king huh? They are popular enemies in video games, wielding the power of necromancy and with the appearance of either a skeleton or a rotting corpse. Low health but amazing MP. Intelligent and power-hungry. That's how they are mostly portrayed at least. One of my favorite enemies.
But I should ask later when it's not so tense to be sure. I could be wrong. What if it's a giraffe? A magic giraffe of course. That can talk. And shoot lasers. Out of its butt hole. That would be so cool. I would name him Mr. Puffing and he would live in my yard and only eat rainbows and sunshine. Then I would go on an epic adventure to rejoin Mr. Puffing with his long lost family that disappeared during a meteor accident. And in the end Mr. Puffing would be made king and I would realize that if I believe in myself, everything can happen and I would finally start my pop-star career.
"- very dangerous, we need to send for backup. Send a message to the church immediately, we will need their holy magic".
Huh? What are they talking about? Wait, the church?! Nonononono! No church! I'm a monster! If the church finds me they will slay me!
"Because it will be so dangerous, all adventurers below D rank are not allowed to participate and will stay in the city until the problem have been solved" Gret says with a commanding voice. No one is questioning him. He's a leader and a leader is what they need right now. "This goes for all the civilians as well. This is an emergency. We need to inform the count of the city. Can someone run to the counsel with the message?"
"I can do it!" one of the adventurers shout and run out the door. There's a huge hole in the wall, why did you run through the door?
"Good. Now then, until we receive our reinforcement we have to prepare ourselves. Warn the merchants approaching the city and the farms nearby! Understood?"
"Yes sir!" the adventurers shout, all full of energy. They really wanna protect this city with all their might. That's admirable. I wish I had that resolution. But I'm to cowardly.
Despite my powers I can't do anything and when I do things they backfire. Then why do I continue fighting? I don't know... Maybe it's guilt or perhaps I still don't realize how real this world truly is and still see it as a game? Maybe it's nothing at all and I'm just really stupid. Yeah, that's probably it. Luckily Mr. Puffing doesn't judge.

Author's Note: - This story will contain litrpg elements like Titles, Skills, and Levels. - MC will not become instantly powerful. I plan for a slower grind with a focus on the characters themselves rather than their abilities. - This is my first attempt at a litrpg story, so please leave any comments/suggestions you have!

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
