"Let me get this straight" Gret say while massaging his forehead. After he woke up we proceeded with explaining everything for him. "So what you are saying is that this being named Morgana, accidentally cursed Ruth when she was young and now she transforms into this bird-beast whenever she gets stressed out. They don't know how to undo the curse but now they travel around as adventurers in order to hind a way. Did I miss something?"
"Nope, you pretty much summed it all up" Philomena answer while chewing on a piece of meat.
"Hmmm... Well it does not sound impossible. I've seen similar cases before".
"You have?" I say with a surprised voice.
"Yes. This sounds very much like a werewolf curse". W-w-w-werewolfs!? That's so cool. I hope I can meet one. "Have you tried going to a church and get the priest to lift it?"
"Yes" I straight out lied. "But it didn't work". I don't think I should ever enter a church actually. Being a monster and everything. But maybe it could solve this hole madness curse... I need to think more on that.
"Uhm, master?" Leo suddenly intervenes. "Are you sure you feel well?"
"Yep! I feel as fresh as a morning rose!" Great says and flexes his arms. Seriously... "I just lost my cool in there when I saw those wraith dames, ehehe!" Are you really an veteran adventurer? Well, at least you are not as impatient as Philomena. "But really, that curse... How could you mess up a blessing so bad?" This question was directed at Morgana.
"Ah, well..." Morgana says. Come on Morgana, I believe in you! "When I casssted the blessing I didn't notice that sshe already had a minor curssse on her that caused my blessing to mutate and get corrupted into a curssse". And the prize for the best lie goes to Morgana! But seriously kids, don't lie, the truth is always the best option. Except if you are a monster. Then lie. Lie your butt off. I won't judge you.

"Now that's... unusual". Oh no. "But not impossible". Yay! "But miss Morgana, if I may ask, why that form? From what I've heard you seem like a very powerful entity but your form is that of an green mana crystal snake. Why is that?"
"Well you sssee, this isss the form I feel the mossst comfortable with at the moment. My real form isss something elssse but it's not that good to move around with". Bravo! I applause you in my mind Morgana!
"Ah, I understand. But now we need to discuss another important matter. The wraith dames". The atmosphere suddenly becomes very tense. Philomena even stops eating. Bastion, that's been standing quietly in the background takes a step forward.
"Gret is right" he says. "This is a very serious matter. For wraith dames to appear in a dungeon like this and so close to a city to boost... This is very unsettling. We need to inform the guild at once".
"I agree with Bastion on this" Philomena comments. "I've seen the damage one wraith dame can do, and for five of them to appear at once...". Philomena sounds unusually serious. I wonder what she have seen in order to make her this grim about it. No, wait, I don't think I wanna know after all.
"It's just as you say, but we should wait until tomorrow. For now, we should all rest" Gret says and everyone just mumbles in agreement. So we get ready to go to sleep when Leo stops me. "Hey Ruth, ya got a minute?"
"U-uhu". Aw fudge, what now? We go away a bit from the camp, behind a large rock. I start fiddling with my hair and don't know where to look. Did he see through our lie? What should I do, what should I do, what should I-
"I just wanna tell you I'm sorry". Huh? "I know I've not really been... the friendliest of guys during this time and I want to apologize" Leo says and bows deeply.

"A-a-ah! Please don't! It's not your fault! I've not acted the best either, I mean, I should apologize too!"
"There's no need to! I've acted far more worse than you AND I attacked you!"
"Well I defeated you and wrestled you too the ground! And don't forget I did those... those... THINGS! So I should apologize!"
"Ugh! Sure! If you wanna be that way then apologize already!"
"Huh? I already apologized for that! And if you are gonna be like that the forget it!"
"Fine! I didn't even want your apology! And you know what!? Forget that apology, you ain't getting it!"
"Fine!"
"FINE!
"Hmph!!!" (both, at the same time). I angrily leave Leo and head to my sleeping bag. I tuck myself in and say good night to everyone, except Leo that idiot! I really don't get him sometimes! And he acted so sweet earlier! I hug Babbit in frustration and close my eyes tight. One would think that going through all those dangerous moments would make us closer but noooo!
But speaking of dangerous moments... I haven't checked my stats yet! I bet I have earned a lot of cool skills!

Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
