《They said I could become anything so I became a _____!!!》Chapter 34: Cuteness Is the Ultimate Justice

After my failed attempt to cook some food I went to sleep. Because Rowan and the feather minions don't sleep I had them guard me during my rest.
That night I had no dreams.
As soon as I woke up we continued to walk. Of course we destroyed any evidence that we had set camp in case Julia-sama were still searching. I kept the pelt from the starlight deer, thinking it could come in handy. Maybe I could make it into some kind of cape?
I have no real goal and I don't know where I'm going. I guess that I can try finding someone strong enough to dispel the curse on me. I tried using Divine Aura on myself, but it didn't work. I guess it is to weak. Maybe I can try going to a church? Maybe there's some priest that can help me? Yeah, that sounds good. But I won't go the village Julia-sama visits occasionally, she would find me within two seconds. Sigh, I guess we just have to walk until we come across a city or something similar.
While walking I try out my abilities. I am still using Stealth and Shadow Cloak when I walk. Stealth even leveled up to level 4! I use Physical Buff on some occasions and cast Mana Spear whenever I can, which is always.
It is pretty easy to cast it. All I need to do is imagine my mana gathering in my hand and then how it change shape into that of a spear. It is actually pretty powerful, despite being level one. When I first casted it I fired it against a tree. The result? The tree got split in half, almost as if lightning had struck it.
I am not using fire magic as much as you would think. I don't wanna cause a forest fire.

Feather Minion have not leveled up yet, maybe it takes longer time for it? I tried to name them but I couldn't. Maybe because they are a part of me? They don't seem to have any consciousness or awareness as separate beings, thinking like one. Sometimes it gets a little creepy.
I do have two golems left to create. The reason I have yet to do it is because of... Rowan. If I create two more, will they act just like him? I don't know if I will be able to handle three nagging golems. Sigh. But I better create them soon so that I can begin leveling them up.
The forest change as we walker deeper into it. The trees get higher and their branches block out the sun, causing everything that grows on the ground to die. Just bare ground with large roots covering it. Sometimes I trip over them because of my eye. When I do Rowan immediately helps me up.
We walk the entire day, occasionally taking breaks for my sake. The only reason I was able to walk three days straight was because I used my healing magic to temporary cure my fatigue. But now that we have put such a distance between us and Julia-sama I am starting to rest more, taking it easy.
When night fell we set up another camp. I lit a fire and roasted some nuts that I had brought with me along the dried fruit. After dinner I decided to create the two other golems. But this time I decided to do it a little different. When I created Rowan I set for a basic humanoid shape but I know that I can shape them however I want!
For the first one I decided it should have the shape of a snake. An elongated body, no limbs and clad in what seemed to be scales made out of earth. Of course it was really tiny, only about 30 centimeters long.

The second one I decided it should look like a deer, taking inspiration from the starlight deer. It is smaller than the original, looking like a deer kid. It is really cute.
I also noticed an interesting thing. Their abilities varies according to their form! They both have Earth Heal of course.
For example, neither the snake golem nor the deer golem can use Earth Punch (because they don't have hands) but they have other abilities instead! The snake (that can't use Earth Kick either) have an attack called Earth Bite and another named Earth Whip, which it uses it's tail to attack.
The deer golem have the abilities Earth Kick and Headbutt. It is also faster than both the snake golem and Rowan when he were at the same level. Otherwise their stats were identical to Rowans old one.
Hmmm, now what should I call them? After thinking for a while I decided. The deers name is gonna be Balthazar (Zar for short) and the snake is gonna be named Morgana. The moment I decided the names a screen appears in front of me, the same screen that appeared when I named Rowan.
//Do you want to name your Earth Golems "Balthazar" and "Morgana"? Y/N?//
Of course I choose yes.
//You have named you Earth Golems Balthazar and Morgana! Thanks to this they have gained one level and due to your title Namer they have immediately gained mediocre sentience!//
Ohhh, so they are just as self aware as Rowan?
((Hello, my name is Ruth.)) I decide to communicate telepathically.
They stare at my for a while before suddenly Rowan steps in.
"Do you not know your place? When mistress introduces herself you shall kneel and pay your respect!"
The two golems flinches and hides behind me.
"Rowan, they don't need to do that! Besides, this must be weird for them, experiencing self awareness for the first time!"
Rowan goes silent before he kneels down.
"I am sorry mistess, I did not think of it. I beg both your and their pardon".
Sigh. I turn towards the two golems again.
((How are you feeling?))
Again, they keep silent. They look at each other before finally Morgana slithers towards me.
"Thank you bosssss. We look forward to working under ya'". Morganas voice is soft and she drags on the letter S.
"Let's have fun together" I say, smiling. Zar steps forward and rubs his head against me. S-so cute!
"Mama!"
Huh? I stare Zar in he eyes. What did he just say?
"Mama!" He exclaims happily, once again.
"Mistress is not your mother!" Rowan shouts.
"Mama?"
"Oh geez, he seemsss to have the mentality of a child" Morgana says.
Zar continues to rub his head against me, ignorant to what they are talking about. Rowan tries to pick him up but when he tries to Zar kicks him with his hind legs, causing them to break. He gives of a weak whimper and seek protection in my arms.
"If you don't stop bothering mistress I will-!"
"Rowan. Stop" I say.
"Hm? What do you mean mistre-"
I look up staring into his eyes while healing Zars injuries.
"I said; Stop".
"... As you wish mistress".
Zar lays down in my arms. He is surprisingly light. So cute... I pet his head and he gives off a pleased sound. I don't notice but Rowan is shooting daggers from his eyes when looking at him. Morgana sees this and smirks.
"Oh, thisss isss trule gonna be fun bosss".
I don't hear her, I am to busy petting Zar.

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!

Daily life of a cultivation judge
Tired of those cultivators who think it is righteous to eliminate a sect or clan root and stem all in the name of revenge and avoiding future troubles, fights over treasures that end up destroying cities with no consequence whatsoever to the culprit, these psychos whose aim for the peak always involves a trail of carnage and bloodshed in its wake for some reason. Then look no further than the daily life of a cultivation judge. Yang Qing, is a young genius cultivator from a low-tier family whose only safe choice to get resources and hopefully lead an easy life led him to the courts of the Cultivation Order Society. Author’s disclaimer: Hey there this is my first novel so any criticism will be well taken though beware I’m a million-year-old monster who has cultivated the way of the sword to the peak. The daily life of a cultivation judge will be true to its name so it will be heavily on the slice of life lane with a bit of action here and there.Meaning we will see the life of Yang Qing when he clocks in and out. Hopefully, it will be one of those novels you read if you need to relax or are in a slacker mood like one of those otakus who listen to the noises of cicadas in the summer famously used in most animes. And it is in the slacker spirit that chapter release will be on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday. Sank yuuu Cover art by Conny Schneider on Unsplash
