Chapter 5- Manifesting Evil
Note: Dialogues with an Asterisk *kill* are only thoughts or actions.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Morning;
Hearing a sharp screech, he fumbles out of his bed while clamping his hands over his ears, after a while the screeching stops. He turns to look at the clock, pinned on the wall.
I woke late, Aunt Hilda is going to be mad, he mumbles.
Quickly putting on his clothes he rushes downstairs along the way he takes notice of how surprisingly light his body has gotten and his sharpened senses. Arriving at the hall he hurriedly consumes his set meal which is placed upon on the table and bolts to the training grounds.
Aunt Hilda soon comes into view; her face having a displeased look.
Avaritia Dear, you`re late, a delay like this can cost your life someday. Then, of a sudden she licks her lips, in an erotic way.
You have to be punished for this dear, come here, Aunt Hilda says in a sensual tone.
Her killing intent plainly expressed. Nonetheless, he moves towards her.
In a flash, a broad gash appears on his abdomen, screaming in pain, he collapses to the ground clutching his gut, blood starts seeping from the wound, Aunt Hilda cleanly severed open his stomach, his intestines could be clearly perceived. Feeling dazed from the blood loss, he tries dragging himself towards the lake. However, it is futile, he can`t muster any strength to move his fragile body.
Here, let me help you dear, Aunt Hilda speaks. Grabbing him by his wrist, she flings him into the lake. Before long, cool water embraces him, soothing his pain and mending his injuries. Full healed, he heads back to Aunt Hilda`s position.

Dear, now I am going to pass onto you our families close combat style, Wrath Arts, so pay close attention to the steps, that I am going to display, Aunt Hilda speaks in a serious voice.

Then she moves, a fair distance away from him. Taking a stance, she exhibits a surge of punches, which flaunt like twisting whips, moving in random directions; they tear through the wind causing deafening sounds, the ground her starts to fracture, pieces of dirt and grass spray all around. After few minutes, she comes to a halt. Her surrounding thrashed.
This is the first technique, Flash Storm; you have four more techniques to learn but those are for a later date. Now, recreate what I just did, Aunt Hilda spoke.
Taking the same stance as her, he started flinging his fists which soon turn into a barrage and then dispersing into blurs, moving faster than the eye can see.
He had perfectly copied Aunt Hilda.
*Ding*
You have learned Wrath Arts: Flash Storm
This boy has learned in one hour the technique that took me 3 years to master. He is a monster, alright; Aunt Hilda thought to herself and smirked.
He notices a glimpse of envy in Aunt Hilda looks as he glances at her, which disappears instantly. Then, she walks toward him.
That was brilliantly done Avaritia dear, but you need to refine it more, ok, Aunt Hilda praises him. Then, she put forward her right palm and in a flash of brilliant light, pairs of shackles materialize on her palm.
Here, put this on Avaritia dear, you will wear these weights for a week, 24/7, Aunt Hilda voices.
Tightening the weights around his ankles and wrists, he tries to move around. At that instance, pressure surmounts, forcing him on his knees.
And Avaritia dear, the weights are integrated with mana so they are set to get heavier after each hour. So you better adapt quickly or you will be crushed, Aunt Hilda giggles. She then heads back to the mansion.

After she disperses from sight, he quickly lies flat on the ground to minimize the pressure. His bones crack from the increasing pressure, one even juts out from his wrist. Calming himself, he devises schemes to get out of predicament. At that second, an idea erupts at him.
*grins*
Channeling his mana into the weights, he engraves new conditions upon them. Immediately, the pressure vanishes. He then looks at his wrist; it has healed completely leaving not a speck of his previous injury behind. He starts to thoughtlessly stare at it for a moment. Escaping his daze, he notices, how dark it’s gotten, he races back to the mansion.
Out of the blue, a rock shard shoots out from a nearby tree impaling his shoulder. Slowly, a golem reveals itself from the darkness. Fragments of rocks protrude thought its body. It approaches him sluggishly, while releasing killing intent.
He smiles, at the golem, his murderous intent flooding out, his true personality coming out.
He sprints towards the golem while cloaking himself with mana. Arriving in front of it, he lets out flash storm. The rock armor begins to crumble into pieces from the barrage of impacts, breaking through the armor it insides are exposed. A blue colored heart lays bare inside.
*Ding*
Corruption has taken effect
*Ding*
2/100 soul pieces are corrupted
Cannibalistic urges surge through him, instinct taking over, he reaches for the heart, ripping it out from its host; he devours it at the spot like a wild ravenous beast. The golem just stays still. Consuming the heart restores his senses, he quickly wipes of the blood stuck at the corners of his mouth.
*Ding*
Corruption has stopped; Duration: 2 months
Would you like to absorb Rock Skin?
No, he uttered
Continuing his way back to the mansion, he quickly rushes into his room, strips of his clothes and jumps into the bathroom tub. Lying in the tub, as water pours upon him.
He feels, something changing inside of him, Evil manifesting.
Weary, he falls asleep in the tub, under the downpour of water.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reason he didn`t absorb rock skin is because it would decrease the benefits of metasis.

8 208Long Island
Long Island was not the first virtual reality game or to say a VRMMORPG. Not the one which changed the world and became a legend. No, it was made when there were lots (quite a few) of virtual reality games already on the market. Each game had its own unique AI feature, its own unique adventure, promising everyone a chance to become King, if not a God. In such a time Long Island was made. Just a little different, just a little unique. Swamy was starting his own adventure, in life and in game.Note - Thanks @DameCarnelian for the cover. Just so people don't get confused, that ship is not Raka's ship :)

8 111Rage: Crisis / Consequence / ???
Its been ten years since Seth was given his powers, ten years since his town was driven mad by that very same power, and ten years since its source was shunted into his head. A species of energy beings, a people filled with regret for what their entrance onto this world caused. Regret for the deaths that town perpetuated, the devastation they brought, the blow they served to the once proud heroes of this world. Heroes Seth now hopes to join, hopes to heal and atone to for what transpired. But their wounds run deep, their ire sharp, and their acceptance thin. And to top it all off... Seth's power is run far deeper than he knows, and sees his world in a light all its own. This series is my first foray into authoring, with two parts out of at best four if the readership stands. But part three will still book end nicely otherwise. And I'm not stopping till then. It is action heavy with varied and ramping up fight scenes through out. (Book 1 is heavy / Book 2 a little lighter) It is bloody in places, mildly gory in others, and heavily gory in simulated places. Nothing truly horrifying, I think, but be warned. It has trauma. PTSD is a major part of the story, but I will never trust that I got it completely right, so your mileage may vary on how believable or impactful it is. Lastly it has language. Swearing ebbs and flows as the story progresses and attitudes harden or soften. Sometimes bleeding through into the narration... somehow.
