《Rebirth of the Sword Emperor(Original version)》Chapter 12: Silvermoon Wolf King

Looking at the monster in front of him, Shesmu readied himself. Even without the Identify skill, he already knew the stats of the monster in front of him. The Silvermoon Wolf had 5000 HP and 400 attack power. These stats would be able to overpower anyone under level 10. Even a level 10 tank who put every single stat point he had on vitality would still be killed in two hits, a normal swordsman wouldn’t survive even 1. If someone wanted to kill the Silvermoon Wolf, he would need a party of 15 level 10 players at the very least. This is not considering the arsenal of skills the Silvermoon Wolf had, just with its stats alone, it can bring despair to any player.
However, even though the Silvermoon Wolf had high stats, the AI running it was still one of the more basic ones. Looking at Shesmu’s level, the wolf pounced on him without using any skill, thinking that it could kill Shesmu with just its attack power alone.
Looking at the sloppy and predictable movements of the Silvermoon Wolf, Shesmu dodged to the side using his superior agility. He didn’t need any fancy footwork, due to how slow and readable the beast’s movements were. Then with an outward slash, he cut the wolf’s side leaving a big gash on the beast’s chest. He then combed that slash with a thrust to the belly, before jumping to the side, dodging the oversized wolf’s claw strike.
Shesmu quickly regained his balance and dashed towards the Silvermoon Wolf, surprising the latter. The beast then opened its mouth and was about to roar.
‘Not good!’
Shesmu stopped his onslaught and dashed with all his force backward. Normally, the stress on his tendons wouldn’t let Shesmu make this maneuver, however, due to him strengthening them in the character creation, he was easily able to do what a normal person couldn’t dream of achieving.
“ROAAAARRR!!”
An overwhelmingly oppressive roar sounded out from the beast and resounded throughout the whole forest, scaring multiple monsters.
Howl Status Effect Fear for 1.5 seconds.
Luckily, Shesmu knew ahead of time what type of skill the Silvermoon Wolf was going to use. Once he noticed the start of the beast’s Howl animation, Shesmu ran away from it. The range of the howl’s skill was broken to no end, reaching a radius of 100 meters. No matter how fast Shesmu was, he couldn’t cross that distance in the 0.5 seconds needed to cast the Howl’s skill. If he had more skills in his arsenal, Shesmu could have interrupted the Howl’s cast. However, Shesmu didn’t do any of the quest given by the swordsman instructor, in fact, he still didn’t even visit the poor guy, and so it’s only natural that he would find himself in situations where he lacked skills.

The wolf, noticing that its howl had an effect on Shesmu, ran towards him in full gallop. Shesmu was 50 meters away from it, even though the beast was vastly slower than Shesmu, it was still able to close that distance in 1 second.
Reaching Shesmu, the wolf swiped with its claws, leaving a gashing mark on Shesmu’s chest.
-400 Hp
After this attack, the 1.5 seconds was already over and Shesmu could finally control his body. The beast was preparing for another attack, and in less than 0.1 seconds, Shesmu would be hit. Looking at the beast which was trying to kill him as if he was a nobody, Shesmu was enraged. For the first time, he actively circulated Ki in his body so as to strengthen it. Focusing part of his Ki on his leg, Shesmu disappeared from where he was, leaving only an afterimage.
“Awoo!!”
The wolf cried and emitted a howl full of pain and agony. Shesmu appeared behind its back and slashed multiple times before ending his combo with a sword thrust, filled with Ki to the maximum. A gaping wound appeared on the wolf’s back showing its bones and internal organs. The wolf stumbled a little bit, trying its best to survive before Shesmu slashed its neck open with a green sword slash.
+7500 experience
The Silvermoon Wolf dropped 2 silver items and 1 bronze item. Compared to the other bosses, the wolf boss was much more generous in terms of both experience and loot.
Shesmu then looked at the items’ stats only to be surprised that they were unexpectedly good.

+5 Agility
Silver Wolf Vest Rarity Silver Requirement Level 9 Description

Shesmu took out the gray fox vest, basic sword and boar pads to replace them with the new items, instantly received a big boost to his defense and agility. He then looked at his gray sword only to sigh heavily. He had something in mind for this sword which fought on and survived with him countless battles, however, with the apparition of the silver wolf sword and the absence of any strong enemy, Shesmu didn’t find a reason to use the basic sword anymore.
“ROAAARRRRRR!!”
Just as Shesmu finished his train of thought, he heard a loud roar, multiple times more majestic and intimidating than the Silvermoon Wolf’s howl. He was surprised and flabbergasted as he never knew that there was another boss monster other than the Silvermoon Wolf in this region, even with his past life knowledge.

As the sun set, and the moon rose up, a huge shadow appeared within the darkness. The clouds cleared up, letting the moon illuminate the world as a beast from the abyss revealed itself to everyone. A silver hue almost becoming corporal escaped its sides, many times more accentuated than the Silvermoon Wolf’s aura. A humongous figure, reaching 6 meters in height, easily dwarfed Shesmu’s silhouette. A white mist emanated from its mouth every time it exhaled, and its blood red iris shone in the night.
Shesmu didn’t know the name of the beast in front of him, however, from its looks, it seems to be of the same category as the Silvermoon Wolf, albeit many times stronger. Shesmu didn’t know what to do for a second against this formidable foe. With close to no skills in his arsenal, Shesmu was limited in his choices and style of combat. If the monster in front of him was able to use an enhanced version of the Silvermoon Wolf’s Howl, Shesmu wouldn’t be able to counter attack and would die in the stun duration. And, from the look of it, the beast in front of him didn’t have only this card up its sleeves, as its stats were clearly abnormally high for the beginner zone. Normally, monsters that had this kind of aura and strength won’t be found until one reach the level 40 range, so Shesmu was worried that this was a special monster that escaped to the beginner zone in one way or the other.
The beast stood still, seemingly trying to gauge the person in front of its strength. The AI running it was multiple times more sophisticated than the one controlling normal boss monsters and elites. The fact that it was summoned meant that the Silvermoon Wolf was killed, and sensing no one but the human in front of it, the beast deduced that the one who killed the Silvermoon Wolf was him.
Shesmu rejoiced at this opportunity. Noticing that the monster in front of him wasn’t going to make the first move, Shesmu swapped his Silver Wolf Sword with the basic one. He then whispered,
“I’m sorry, partner.”
Holding the basic sword in his hand, Shesmu continuously inputted Ki into it.
1000 Ki Points.
2000 Ki Points.
Reaching this step, the sword started deteriorating and cuts were starting to appear all over its blade. 3000 Ki Points, 4000 Ki points, 5000 Ki Points, the sword started shattering and shards of its blade flew off in all directions, as a strong and vibrant green aura appeared on it. 6000 Ki Points, 7000 Ki Points, 10000 Ki Points, the green aura enveloping the shattered sword became stronger and more vibrant, it reached a point where a storm of Ki was holding the blade together.
Looking at the state of his sword, Shesmu sighed and whispered.
“It seems that this is this sword’s limit.”
Looking at the green hue enveloping the sword Shesmu was holding, the beast felt a sense of danger. Not willing to let the human in front of it to continue whatever he was doing, it pounced on him with an unimaginable speed. In less than 0.1 seconds, it crossed the distance of 30 meters separating it with Shesmu. A silver aura enveloped its claws, as it swiped with its massive paw.
Looking at the beast in front of him preparing to send him to the underworld, Shesmu thrust in front of him with his shattered sword. The green aura became corporal as it penetrated the large wolf’s body and went out from the other side. A gaping hole, 1 meter in diameter, appeared on the beast’s chest, its heart and lungs rendered to ashes.
The beast’s eyes still shone with the brilliance of life. It struggled with all its might, as it slowly made one step after the other, trying to approach its killer, however, as the distance between it and Shesmu was less than half a meter, the last specks of light it had in its eyes dimmed and it fell to the ground lifeless.
+30000 experience
Heaving a sigh of relief, Shesmu looked at his sword, only to see it reduced to dust, never to be equipped by him again. After mourning the loss of his sword, Shesmu looked at his right hand. It was burned to the point his flesh was visible from the outside, and his bones were in such a miserable state that no bone was left unbroken.
This was the effect of using this much Ki Points when he was still a level 9 Tier 0 player. While his dantian was filled with the Ki of a tier 3 player, his body still didn’t reach that point yet, and couldn’t keep up with the use of a large amount of Ki.
Checking his injuries, Shesmu knew that he needed to pay Alan another visit. However, before that, he needed to check his loot and level. Shesmu took a look at what the wolf dropped, to find 3 bronze items, 4 silver ones, and surprisingly 2 golden items.

Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
