《Biomancer: Songs of Sirens》Falling Down

---------------------------------------

Pyrex lunges towards me with dark red foam dripping from his mouth. Chunks of earth grip to his tails as I focus my thoughts towards my palm. The liquid energy brims my hand with cool as I lift my arm.

A path of blue magma appears as I raise my hand. The force covers Pyrex before it freezes the air around him. My ears pop as the air around him condenses over him freezing him in a deep blue that masks his growing madness. I don't know what's causing him to act so crazy, but restraining him seemed liked the only option.

A fog of white expels of the jagged and frozen air covering him as I catch my breath. I need Gorge and Harlow's help with this. They know all about that biological stuff, so they should be able to help cure Pyrex of whatever's causing him to be this way.

I can't channel the glowing liquid for travel yet however. I have no way to move or get around, and even though I managed to handle Pyrex right now, I don't think I'll be able to do much more than stop him from hurting me or himself.

AS these thoughts swirl in my head, a burning sensation builds in my chest along with a crawling sensation not quite like fear. No, it's more desperate. More like the feeling after I was separated from my sister sirens.

It's loneliness. I'm scared Pyrex will never return to normal. Tears of purple splash against the ground as I frown. I had to use the powers I'd been hiding to surprise Pyrex on him to stop him from eating me...

Right before I weep, the entrance opens revealing Bordore who stares at the scene with a sort of shocked expression that eases my own pain. His eyes open in surprise while his jaw opens releasing a murmur,

"Incredible."

His shoulders relax before he shakes his head for a moment. He turns his head towards me before he rushes over saying, "What happened? Why is Pyrex in this block of ice?"

His fear calms my mind as I say like a mother to her son, "Pyrex caught something from this crazy person in an alleyway..."

I wipe the tears from my eyes before I continue, "He said something about zombies or something."

Bordore nods before saying, "Sounds like something Harlow would understand. Here-"

He lifts me as he says, "I'll take you to Tellara and Gorge. You can tell them the details while I get Harlow and I to carry Pyrex inside where we can see what's wrong."

He jogs inside passing through a series of hallways as my thoughts race. Bordore's once grossly large arms feel strong now, and his pair of circular glasses edged on his nose give him a more...human look rather than making him look dumb. I never liked him after Gorge ordered him to carry me away from Pyrex when we first met, but he handles the situation so quickly. It's incredible.

His speed increases as the momentum of our travel clears my mind. The momentum and shifting gravity overcomes my worries before I find myself enjoying it like a ride at one of Pyrex's stories about parks. He talked about different pieces of his childhood he wanted to show me. He won't be able to kn-

I slap the edges of my cheeks. It'll be fine. Theres nothing that's stopped him so far. I doubt something like this will stop him either. He's laughed at death before. Seriously.

He wouldn't want me worrying about him. He'd want me to be as spirited as always.

The thought gives me some peace of mind as we reach into the room holding my pool where Gorge bathes without any clothes on. She turns towards Bordore as she holds her wet and fiery red hair before she shouts,

"What the hell are you doing here?"

He paces up to the pool as he says, "I'm sorry Gorge. There's no time. Allure will tell you what's wrong."

He sets me into the pool before he turns running out of the room with his face blushing a deep black. His embarrassment caused him to redden enough that veins started appearing on his face. Even his hands trembled at the sight of Gorge. It was adorable, though I wouldn't tell him that. It'd be mean.

That doesn't change how the cool water gives me a refreshing comfort from the dry air. I circle the edge of the pool a few times stretching my muscles before I lift myself above the water. Gorge looks at me in shock as she cups her breast in one arm while covering her other hand over her lower hips.

I grin before I say, "You know you only look more erotic like that right?"

She rolls her eyes before she exposes herself saying, "So why did you have Bordore come in the middle of one of my baths?"

I blink before I pause for a moment. Whatever expression I had on my face must have told her a lot about what was happening because her eyes softened before she leaned closer to me saying, "Did something happen to you and Pyrex? Why isn't he here?"

I bite my lip as my throat grows a fire. My shoulders shake before she hugs herself against me. She says, "It's alright Allure. It's ok."

I let out a wail before I start crying. The somewhat repressed tears devolve until I openly weep at what happened earlier. I mumble between sobs, "Pyrex...he changed...I can't get him back to normal...he was covered in blood....it was so gross...and he killed people...I don't"

Her breathing grows ragged as she says in a voice cold as blast of icy water, "What did Pyrex do to you?"

She leans back from me before she stares at me. I breath a few times before I say with my voice stifling from crying, "We...we met some guy eating a girl. He killed that guy before the girl bit into his neck...He was covered in blood. He carried me here before he attacked me."

I lean downwards before I say, "I froze him. I didn't know what else to do."

Gorge bites her lips before she leans her head against her hand while resting her elbow against her hip. She thinks for a moment before she says, "How does he attract so much trouble?"

A small laugh escapes my lips before I say, "I think it's cause he's so attractive."

The beginnings of a grin form before her expression becomes grim. She says, "What did Bordore do?"

As Gorge's power supports me upright, I say, "He went to get Harlow. He said he would be best at figuring out whatever went wrong with him."

She nods before she says, "It sounds like he handled it well. I may promote him for this."

She uses her rose colored flow to set me into the water before she turns around. The first thing my eyes see are the black pits where the liquid juts from. They weave outwards changing from jet black to the rosy color at the edge of her control. I always thought she controlled a bunch of watery stuff, but she seems to use some other power from her back.

I noticed that and the rounded curves of her figure. I can't blame Bordore from blushing so much at seeing her once I observe her more closely. She's less curvy then me, but the muscle on her frame gives her a powerful, controlled appearance in comparison. Even without her edgy outfit, she still emanates security.

That security draws from her calm in situations like this. She lifts herself out of the water before she slips into her spiky red armor that dulls the appearance of her form some, but you an still see her gender underneath the plates of condensed material.

She uses her power to create a bridge from the water that I use to swim on. The tatters of my dress flip as we travel towards Harlow's new lab where I find a familiar sight. Pyrex floats at the center of a tube of yellow liquid while his tails twitch and squirm about. They cover every inch of his skin.

As we pace up, Harlow speaks in his spindly voice, "Stay calm. We are keeping Pyrex suspended until we can figure out how to cure him of whatever infection this is."

Gorge paces up before she places her hand on Harlow's shoulder. He glances up before he sighs with a smile. He says with his beady eyes glancing between us, "It's good to see you're both alright. I had feared the worst."

Gorge grins back before she says, "Can you calm the tails down, Allure?"

I nod before she places me in front of the mic. I say with a soft voice, "Hello. It's ok guys. I know you're worried about Pyrex, but these people are here to help."

As I speak, they unravel from Pyrex revealing the blackened mush of his skin. I cover my mouth before Harlow sighs then says, "It's a sad fate unfortunately. If he weren't so...well....mutated, then he would have died instantly."

I look at him saying, "But he was able to handle this much cold so easily before. What changed?"

Harlow shakes his head saying, "When you both fused, whatever seal it is that's keeping your powers contained detonated allowing him to sustain through such ridiculous cold. Even with his super human physique, there are few things that can survive a containment with liquid nitrogen."

He raises a finger as he says, "But, you see, he's a fighter. He doesn't want to die. His cells are absorbing the rejuvenation fluid rapidly allowing him to recover, though he'll likely be changed at least physically when he recovers."

I blink in utter disbelief as I say, "What do you mean?"

Harlow taps his fingers before he says, "Well...there are a few...complications."
