《Biomancer: Songs of Sirens》Uphill

A tail stabs through her body while two of them smash her skull in front of me. The other three block the blood from hitting Allure while I wince backwards. The horns on my back blocked my eyes, but the mush splattered across me otherwise. I don't understand...
After a moment of tense silence, Allure says, "I don't understand..."
I bite the inside of my lip as I say, "I don't..." A realization pops in my mind after a moment, "It's has to be an infection of some sort. I can't believe this shit. It's zombies."
Allure rolls back from the disgusting scene for a moment before she says, "Zombies?"
I wipe blood from my face as I say, "It was a cultural phenomenon on our homeplanet centuries ago. Scientists eventually decided it was a reaction to how materialistic and linear life had become for a large part of the developed world. Like people wanted to go back to a simpler life and time without all the complications of a modern life."
My tails writhe behind me scraping blood from me as best they can as I turn towards her saying, "It turn whoever's infected into a lunatic that eats people...This is bad."
Allure stretches her hands outward as she says, "Of course it is! Everything was so perfect too....Are you going to be alright?"
I shrug as I say, "I don't know." My tails sear the blood off their scaly expanses as I say, "It's making me nervous though. She contracted the disease rapidly, and based on the other zombies actions, I can't expect me to be sane after the infection's run its course."
The tails wrap around her wheelchair before they stab into the edges of the walls. They lift me before we reach the top of the roof. They pull us across the rooftops smashing stone before I say, "I feel weird...I have to get you to safety before I feel even weirder."

Allure reaches her arms out as she says, "It's fine. I trust you. We just have to get you cleaned up is all."
I shake my head as I turn away from her. My pulse pounds in my ears while my a growing hunger builds from my stomach. Oh shit...
I rasp as I amp up the pace of our travel, "I don't trust myself Allure."
I zone out her voice as I focus all my efforts on escape. I must leave the town before I lose it. My breaths grow ragged. The hunger gnaws at my insides. I just want to eat something soft. Something wet. Something-
I shake my head snapping myself from my trance before I punch myself in the face. The dull pain restores some normalcy before we reach the trees at the edge of the city. We land on the edge of ground before I sprint with my tails assisting me. They reach ahead and pull me forward with apt focus.
We reach the edge of the quarry before a pulse in my bones sends me to my knees while my tails drop Allure. She falls out of the chair before they grab her and I lunge forward. I walk until I reach the center of the whole only fifty feet from the tunnel to Gorge's base.
The urge to eat overwhelms me as I pull Allure towards me. As I see her eyes however, my humanity mends. She doesn't glance at me without trust. Her dirty dress and me dropping her hasn't made her trust me any less. My ragged breathing, bloodshot eyes, and the strange black veins appearing on the surface of my hands never stop her from opening her arms as she says,
"It's ok Pyrex. It's alright."
I toss her across the quarry before I fall to the ground. I writhe back and forth as fire pumps in my veins. My vision reddens. My mind dulls. Oddly enough, my tails reach for me helping me control my outbursts. They whisper,

"Stop master."
"We've felt your love for her. You would hate yourself if you killed her."
"Yes, we won't let you do this to yourself. We won't let you."
I roar, "I just want to eat...Let me eat!"
I rip my hands into the ground before I crawl towards Allure before my tails stab into ground. I jerk against them, but they hold with their unreasonable strength before claws grow from my fingers. A torrent of blood shoots from my throat before I bang my head against the ground.
Tears fall from my eyes as I slam my fists into the ground cracking the earth. Is this how I go? Is this how it all ends? I've fought against monstrous abominations since I was 18, and now I lose myself becoming one. The irony. I refuse. I deny. I abstain.
I won't become a mindless monster. I have so much I need to do. I have so much I have to do. I have so much left to eat-
I thunder my voice across the cavern as Allure stares at me. Her own eyes wet from staring at me as I suffer, and she says, "Pyrex, what's happening?"
I breathe a deep breathe before I grate my voice, "Run. Now."
She stares at me as she says, "I'm not leaving you."
I clasp both my fists until my skin tears as I say, "I've heard...so many say that...before they stay and die." My voice transforms into a weak, helpless murmur as I say, "...Don't die...Please...Please...I don't to kill you..."
She drags herself across the ground before she reaches within five feet of me. The smell of her intoxicates me a hunger stronger than any lust. Even as I hold myself back, the growing mania in my mind snaps for her flesh. I'm dieing.
My tails strain against me as I leap towards her. Their holds shakes for a moment as I reach within inches of her. She's too close. I an't fight it anymore. It's destroying me...It's going to destroy us.
A tail breaks as Allure cries out, "I don't understand Pyrex. Why are you mumbling to yourself."
The sadness in her voice allows me to grab my throat stopping me from pulling anymore before my tail replants itself into the earth. I say choking myself, "I want to eat you...Leave me."
She shakes her head before her tattoos glow brighter. She reaches up to me before she slaps me with a heavy palm. No pain shoots through my cheek as all my efforts are put to stopping myself from biting her hand. She says,
"You can fight this. You stopped the fog. Didn't you?"
I shake my head as I say, "I can't stop this Allure. This is different. I don't have the strength."
"You don't need strength. Just fight it. You've been a warrior for 10 years. You can fight a petty disease."
All goes red as my conscious falls outside of my body. I no longer control myself, so my body lunges towards her. My saliva and blood pours from my mouth while my tails tear blocks of earth from the ground holding me back. I reach my neck out clapping my teeth as I shut my jaw with enough force to chip them.
I lose all hope for her survival before the tattoos on Allure's face and body glow from sky blue to a deeper, navy blue.
What the hell?
