《Biomancer: Songs of Sirens》Premonition

Gorge holds a shambling monstrosity using a tentacle of her black goop, and as the creature squirms and shifts in her grip, she pumps her ichor into the being through its head. I bellow,
"What the hell is this?"
She glances towards me before she averts her gaze saying, "This is a remnant of your troop. This particular member fought fiercely versus the beetles as they tried healing him, so now he lays in the shambles you see before you."
She looks back up towards me before she rasps, "I'm giving him pieces of my power to stabilize him...I...I'm sorry Pyrex. I never meant for this to happen...."
My anger evaporates with the force of a collapsing building before lean against the edge of the doorway. Sweat pours down my face before a wave of sadness then profuse anger fills me once more. I no longer control my emotions. I freeze as I attempt controlling the influx of sensations before a gray spreads from my contact with the wall. Fluorescent, crimson veins crawl through the expanse of gray pulsing before I lift myself from the altering wall repulsed.
Gorge says, "What's happening Pyrex? What is this?"
My feet begin spreading the same gray at the pace of a slow crawl while I stumble backwards jutting out my arm in front of me. The limb begins contorting and swelling as I shout, "What the fuck is happening to me?"
Gorge shouts mentally through her communication system, "Bordore. Harlow. Come quickly. Pyrex is transforming quicker than you both thought. We need to sedate him before he hurts someone or himself."
She says while brandishing her palms towards me saying, "It is ok Pyrex. Calm down."
My arm swells until my skin rips revealing a convulsing set of muscles and bones that form into an elongated arm. Two slits creep through my arm before they open revealing a pair of eyes. A mouth opens saying, "Master."

I heave for breath as panic overwhelms all reason as I shout, "Aghhhhh," while falling down. My tails catch me before another wave of emotions crashes against me, this one of fear and anger as Gorge shouts, "Your a soldier Pyrex, not a little girl. Act like a man."
The derogatory restores some reason as I fight against the emotions pouring against my mind hissing in anger before I crawl onto my side as my tails whip around me flipping air with sharp cracks as they slam into the mush around me. After the climax of emotional turmoil, the tentacles stare towards Gorge in unison. The sudden shift causes her to step back as I groan. A set of voices pours into my mind,
"We must kill her."
"Yes. She insults our master."
"No one shall be allowed to do so."
"We shall kill any who opposes him."
I shout, "No. Stop."
My tails turn towards me leaning closer before they voices hiss whispers in my ears, "But she insults you master."
"Yes, she deserves death."
"We must kill her."
"Leave it to us."
"Yes, you may rest."
"We will handle everything."
Iron and might pours from my voice and mind as I slam my fist into the ground roaring, "ENOUGH."
Gorge winces backwards before the tentacles back off. My now mutated right arm says, "I am here to serve."
I spit my words with venom and wrath, "Give me back my arm you abomination."
The mouth frowns as it whimpers, "I just wanted to serve. I did not know where-"
I bellow, "Give. Me. Back. My. Arm."
The tentacle tunnels into my body shifting my organs without pain as a sleeve of my arm returns and regenerates. Within seconds, my arm transforms back into its normal self before the tentacle bursts out my back in the middle of the six tentacles. It leans over me saying, "Is this better master?"

I squint my eyes at the monster as I snarl, "I do not want a talking tentacle out of my back."
Even Gorge winces at the sight before the creature extends outwards shrinking into an eight foot horn. The horn splits into 4 horns each of six feet in length before they curve into my field of view. They show sharpened edges like swords while they position themselves between the tentacles on my back. I say, "This is what you've become?"
Each horn nods in unison before I say, "I won't be able to walk anywhere with horns jutting from my back. The tails already produce problems."
Gorge uses her own tentacles for changing the spreading gray and red around me before the horns curve around my shoulders while growing across my back creating smooth, flowing patterns across my back while the top two horns curve around my shoulders and chest. As I move my arms, they shift with me before Bordore crashes into the edge of the hallway shouting,
"What happened to Pyrex?"
Gorge frowns as she says, "He has become...a hivemind."

Nowhere Stars
For as long as anyone can remember, humans have been preyed upon by Harbingers, living nightmares which devour dreams and passions and souls, and defended by Keepers. These children alone hold the gift of magic, the wild and wondrous ability to impose emotions over reality and empower their frail bodies with the splendor of their souls. Under their protection, humanity was able to survive and thrive. While modern Keepers have come to enjoy a social position somewhere between celebrities and religious idols, very few accept the mantle simply to be a hero. The Messengers of the Goddess Claiasya, spirits charged with awakening the magic in suitable souls, promise that Keepers who consume and purify enough Harbingers will obtain the power to change themselves or the world in nearly any way they wish. It’s for this purpose that Liadain Shiel, a young girl born terminally ill, throws herself into life as a Keeper when her opportunity comes, hoping against hope to rewrite her fate and save her life while she still can. But magic wants its wielders to grow and change, not simply continue living, and the secrets swimming beneath the sea and behind the sky have lives and designs of their own. Miracle Angeliva
Spirits, or what people usually referred to as ghosts, are something that has always been with us since ancient times. Some people are gifted to see them. However, most of us can’t see them without training. And without seeing them, we won’t believe. People only believe what they see, after all. However, I assure you, spirits are real. Spirits are always there. Just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean they are not real. Just like people of ancient ages who can’t see bacteria or those who can’t see stars further than eyes can see, there are limits to our technology. Similarly, even though the current technology can’t prove the existence of supernatural beings, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. In the future, if we can develop technology so everyone can see them just like how a microscope helps us seeing micro beings, I believe everyone will believe it too. That being said, I still can’t prove their existence yet. -Raleigh Von Vlad Update daily (if possible, if not, guaranteed chapters are on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) Thanks to gej302 for the fantastic cover!
