《Biomancer: Songs of Sirens》Tall Tales

Gorge says, "Maria is the holiest site on our planet according to your troops. Apparently, one of your legends fought here on this world thousands of years ago versus some overwhelming force. He and his guard of devotees somehow managed to destroy the force."
She sighs as she says, "It is there that I met your your legend. I was a normal girl at the time, at least for our race. That was before the shockwave of him landing crushed my body. The pain was overwhelming, but I never felt it. I could only stare at him...I can understand why you worshipped and continue to worship him."
Pyrex whispers in awe, "What did he look like?"
Gorge stares at a different time as she grins saying, "He was grayer than steel, and he stood eight feet tall with incredibly broad shoulders. His muscles shifted under his skin like snakes and his eyes pierced me. Despite his...otherworldy aura, he walked up to me with confidence before he grabbed me into his arms."
She closes her eyes as she says, "I can understand how he rewrote the Magna Alma. He speaks with a silver in his tongue that amazes me even now. He told me, 'Your smile is flame that warms my heart. The fire reminds me of old friends and even older family.'"
Pyrex's eyes open as he says, "What did he sound like?"
Gorge smirks towards him saying, "You sound rather preoccupied with him. Why do you want to know so badly?"
Pyrex blinks before he says, "He's the Arbiter of Armageddon. The Enabler of Apocalypse. The Harbinger of Cataclysm. His names are endless as are his legends."
She raises an eyebrow as she says, "I didn't realize he was so...known. Regardless, he sounded deep with a sharp tone to his syllables. He had an energy to his gestures. He felt...endless, but this isn't a story about him. It's a story of me."

Pyrex leans down as he says, "Ahh. Yes...Sorry about that."
She shrugs as she says, "My story is far less interesting than his, so I can understand. He isn't as relevant as I am at the moment however. He lifted me with his arms before he placed his hand against my back. He ebbed seething tendrils of pain within me. The pain eclipsed all other pains I've ever before and since.
Imagine a thousand steel worms crawling into your body. It was like that. The agony eventually ended though, and he apologized for the pain I felt the whole time. His sweet words eased the pain quite significantly. I'd like to see him again at some point if only to do battle."
Pyrex scoffs before Gorge says, "What's so funny?"
He smirks as he says, "He's crushed entire planets with his fists Gorge."
Her eyes widen as she spits, "How?"
"Sometimes it's better to neglect asking how or why. I just accept it."
She crosses her arms and ankles saying, "That is why you mindlessly followed your army despite the signs telling you of their corruption."
Pyrex winces before Gorge continues, "Either way, after he healed me, my body began to change. I outlived my family and husband. I lived past hundreds of years before your Melotic Empire first grounded on our planet. Your kind promised ours a peaceful coexistence.
Of course your leaders spit at our culture. It was an invasion against our entire race. I remember when our citizens began their first terrorist attacks. Even though your changes in the environment from the mining killed millions of our citizens, your race completely ignored this."
Venom leaks into her voice as she rasps, "Instead, your kind responded with a brutality that I've embraced thereafter. I remember the bombs of nerve gas that singed the skin on every member in my village...I watched my great great granddaughter die while she was pregnant. She screamed and hissed in pain as her skin melted."

The venom transforms into a the depths of a toxic ocean as she grates, "I watched my entire family I spend 600 years building melt in one day...Something snapped. It was too unjust. Everything was too unfair. The power your god granted me snapped. This sludge flowed from my eyes and ears and mouth.
The Fog poured from my skin as I screamed with the force of a banshee. I hated your kind with such an overwhelming passion. I would eliminate every women and child from this decaying earth. No longer will your empire use our people as slaves or eliminate them as it suits them."
Her voice darkens as she hisses, "I am the embodiment of vengeance that your kind spawned."
I say, "How does that help though?"
Her eyes slowly turn towards me as she says, "What?"
I stammer, "W-well killing tons of people won't help bring them back."
She roars, "But it gives meaning to their deaths, and it prevents these mongrels from destroying more of my beloved planet."
Pyrex stares forward peering onto the ground. His grip no longer holds the same strength as before. The other members of her guard squirm with discomfort before Gorge stomps onto the ground shouting, "I will kill every last single one of you who dares to step on this planet."
She heaves the pink gel as the veins on her face bulge. She clenches her fists before she relaxes them and her shoulders releasing us from the sludge. She floats out of the room leaving the icy atmosphere. Pyrex falls to his knees holding me up with the last of his strength while the plated tails on his back lose tension arching off his back onto floor.
He closes his eyes, and a tear crawls down his eye before it lands on my cheek. He rasps,
"What have we done."
Magna is latin for great while Alma means a female name given in hope that the child will grow to be kind. Just a little food for thought.

Wielder of Forms
Wield the Forms. Define the Infinite. Gods err, and must break our world to save others. This is a story of one who survived, one who never should have, and those that travel with her. To survive, they will learn the Forms. To endure, the Forms will change then. To gain power - power beyond all mortal ken - they must Wield the Forms. Wield the Forms. Define the Infinite. I am more than happy to take advantage of free editing, so please, editorialize away; I'll take it all on board. I'll be going back to clean up chapters I've already published fairly regularly, and I'll do my best to let all of you readers know whenever that happens. Updates at least once a week, most likely on Tuesdays and/or Fridays.
