《The Demon Lord is Bored》Chapter Eighteen: Erebus vs Questers
Advertisement
Shazam! More Erebus to brighten your day. I read all your comments before I posted this chapter and I'm glad you guys were surprised. Mwahahaha... I'm a sinful woman.
“Tear, Vyne, and Yvick. You may leave, I will deal with the rest of these nuisances,” Erebus said in a bored voice.
“Understood.” They all bowed towards Erebus and moved away from the Questers they were fighting and left the room (they all wanted to stay, though).
The Questers were in too much shock to react to their leaving. First, he brutally killed Heather, who he had been close to. Then, he commanded not only Tear and Vyne but a Demon Emperor. And they listened.
Erebus stretched out his body, taking his sweet time. And no one dared attack him as he did this. A few had witnessed his fight with Heather before she had screamed, it was obvious he could keep up with Heather when she was fighting seriously. This was Heather who probably one of the strongest people in this raid.
He finished stretching. “Oh come on now, don’t make this boring for me. I finally decided to fight and you all just stand there.” Erebus tapped his chin, his eyes landed on something. “Ah, that’ll work.”
He disappeared from his spot and then was standing in front of a man wielding a battle axe.
Said man was cleaved in half with a swing of Erebus’ hand. The man’s intestines were now spilling out on the ground, two pools of blood formed before melding together. Interesting enough, on the man’s finger was a wedding ring.
One woman began to wail loudly. “Viktor! Viktor!” She charged at Erebus, not caring for her own life.
Wow, my guess was right, Erebus thought to himself as he shoved his arm through her chest and yanked out her still beating heart. He threw the heart next to the dead man’s face.
Erebus stepped carefully over the lover’s corpses and spread out his hands. “Look at that, I just killed three people brutally. I must be a truly evil man, it’s your duty as Questers to kill me.”
A determined look set on the Questers faces. Yes, this was their job. They accepted this Quest knowing they could die... they couldn’t let this monster escape. There was only about fifty of them left, but they would kill this monster or die trying.
More came towards Erebus, letting out yells of anger as they struck at him.
Five more corpses fell to the ground.

A beastman attempted to impale Erebus with his spear, only to have Erebus yank it out of his hands and throw it back at him. Right between the man’s eyes.
With brutish strength, Erebus tore off the head of a nearby woman and tossed it aside.
Another Quester charged at Erebus screaming loudly. His face was a mess, he was crying and snot was coming out of his nose. He was afraid, he had never felt so much fear in his life.
Erebus kicked the man in the stomach, causing him to double over. Erebus then grabbed the back of his head and squeezed it so hard his skull was crushed.
His face was still blank. His eyes held no emotion. But, a small smile was starting to form on his lips.
Erebus’ mask finally broke and he tossed his head back, laughing maniacally. “Weak, weak! You’re all weak! Where is your magic? Huh?”
As if to answer his prayers, the mages released Myth classed magic on Erebus. It was another round of [Destruction Magic: Encircling Light].
The Questers watched in hope that he would die.
No one could survive a point blank hit of Myth class right? Unlike Yvick, who had multiple shields to protect him, Erebus wore no gear.
The light finally faded away, revealing Erebus.
“Weak. Is this how low Myth class magic has fallen?”
One Quester let out a strangled laugh.
Erebus was completely unharmed.
But wait!
Erebus’ clothing was now ruined.
He fell to the ground and sat cross-legged. “This is disappointing. What have you all been doing?” His smile had disappeared. “You’re disgraces to mages.”
A sphere similar to the one he had used the day he turned Tier 5 appeared in the palm of his hand. The black swirling mass drifted lazily over to the group of mages that had casted the Myth classed magic. The sphere broke into smaller ones and landed on the chest of each of the mages.
“Disappear.”
And they did.
A spear hit Erebus on the side of his head. It was pulled back with the sound of rattling chains.
It was Mur.
“You,” Erebus said softly. Slowly, a sick smile spread across his face. “Still the impudent child, I see.” Erebus snapped his fingers and a disc spinning rapidly flew straight towards Mur and cleanly removed his head from the rest of his body.
Mur’s body fell to the ground and his head rolled off a bit.
Erebus shook his head, that one always had annoyed him.

Once again, a small purple sphere appeared in Erebus’ hand. He tossed into the center of a group of about seven or so Questers.
The skin on their bodies began to peel off, followed by their muscles, organs, and bones. The pieces of their body all entered the sphere. It grew larger, and more Questers entered its range.
The growing sphere continued to suck up the Questers, including the corpses littered on the ground.
It was Erebus’ magic once again. This particular spell only took in organic materials and converted it to mana. The more mana took in, the larger the sphere grew.
Within minutes, every organic thing that had been in the room had disappeared. Even the blood and corpses on the ground. Erebus wasn’t affected because he cast the magic.
This was the reason he had the other three leave the room, he didn’t wish for them to die.
The sphere had grown to be about eight meters in diameter before Erebus ended the spell with a wave of his hand. Erebus stood up once again and stretched.
. That battle, if it could even be called one, was not fun at all. He should’ve played with them a little more before casting his magic, whelp, too late now.
He was still bored. When was that dungeon Yvick told him about going open again? Erebus had another couple days or so before that would come. Eh, he could just be a little late. That’d be fine, wouldn’t it?
Erebus left the throne room. Which, by the way, was a rather interesting sight. Since Erebus had cast his magic, there wasn’t a single living thing left. So, there was debris, holes, dents, and things of the like all around. It looked as if there hadn’t been two hundred plus people in there but rather a stampede of something had passed through.
Tear, Vyne, and a now unarmored Yvick were waiting for him outside of the room.
Vyne snuck a glance into the room and blinked in surprise. His master had used his [Lost Magic: Void]... Erebus only used that when he wanted things to be over with already.
“Yvick, when does that dungeon you told us about open up?” Erebus asked as if he had not just slaughtered fifty or so people. If anyone were to look at this scene, they wouldn’t know any wiser what the four had just done.
Yvick tilted his head up, squinting his eyes as he thought. “Midnight tomorrow. The Questers were a nice warm-up for you three before you entered, huh?”
The trio shrugged.
“More or less,” Tear said. She wished she had been able to get a few more punches in on that damned elf’s face.
“I’ll be going back to my studies,” Vyne said. The only reason he came was to silence the irritating noises.
“Me too,” Tear chirped. What she was reading was a child’s book, though...
The two left and Yvick turned his gaze over to Erebus. “Did you have fun?”
“A little bit.” Erebus poked the mana stones that were once again attached to Yvick’s earrings. “How did it work?”
A look of glee crossed Yvick’s face. “Well, the strength difference is certainly colossal. The [Soul Stone] combined with Triton’s superior blacksmithing skills created an amazing set for me. Even though we’ve never fought before, he was able to create these to fit my style perfectly.”
Maybe I should give that fish some more credit, Erebus thought. “I see, that’s good then.”
“Good? It’s more than good! I could even last in a fight longer than five minutes with you!”
The maximum limit Yvick was able to fight Erebus for was five minutes. Even though Erebus wasn’t fighting seriously, it was still a feat.
Erebus smiled. “Want to try it?”
Yvick took a step backwards. “I wasn’t challenging you. Fighting with you hurts, it hurts a lot.”
Because he was a dragon, Erebus had immense physical strength. One of his punches when he was ‘holding back’ was equivalent to Heather’s full strength blow. Yvick was only able to take multiple punches from Erebus when he was using his armor.
Yvick didn’t like getting hurt. He wasn’t an M. If anything, he was more of an S.
Erebus laughed at Yvick. “I was joking. Fighting you hurts, too.”
Did it really though, Erebus? Did it really hurt you that much? I think not.
Yvick started to laugh nervously along with Erebus. He was clearly thinking similar thoughts.
“I think I’m going to go take another nap,” Erebus said and went off in search of a comfortable place to rest.
What a tiresome day.
One of the plans I made for later today ended up being canceled so I have time to write even more chapters! What is this? I hope you all enjoy because I sure as Hell had fun writing this (is that bad?)
