《Kenosis of the Light Bearer》Chapter 32 - Towards the floating island in the sky

Flights 214 through 224 are now boarding and will depart in 5 minutes. I repeat, Flights 224 through 234 are now boarding and will depart in 5 minutes.
An announcement was made over the intercom. “Ah, that’s our flight!” The four of them ran towards the skybus and quickly boarded.
The skybus was shaped like a square lunch box with curved edges. It had plain white armor with no windows but it still appeared quite sleek and elegant. It didn’t have lights or anything of the sort, it was incredibly basic. Under the bottom of the bus were circle blue lights used for propulsion and maneuvering.
As they climbed aboard the skybus they handed their tickets to the driver and made their way towards the back to claim the seats right towards the rear.
Luar tugged on Lucifs shoulder as she shyly and quietly said, “Um, shouldn’t we sit closer to the front? Only delinquents sit at the back of the bus.”
Lucifer ignored her and walked towards the back of the bus to sit down, followed by Aruna and Ambrosia. Luar contemplated for a moment but then quickly joined them at the back. More and more people continued to climb aboard and find their seats.
Luar had the feeling that these people would be a bad influence on her but she had been looking for something on the edgy side, something to spice up her mundane life of endless study and practice.
The skybus appeared quite small from the outside but inside it was wide and spacious, easily fitting 50 or so people.
Enochian Academia is a giant country that floats 50 km above the planet but it is approximately 900 km from where they are so it would take roughly 40 to 50 minutes to arrive. They gradually made themselves comfortable as they prepared for their journey.

Three people climbed on board, they weren’t very big only standing 4 or 5 feet but their appearance completely shocked Lucif. ‘A Xenomorph, that’s a bloody Xenomorph from the movies!’
These 3 aliens had elongated heads, no eyes, sharp teeth, long tails that were wrapped up and spiny skin that glimmered with a silver sheen. The two on the side had purplish black skin while the one in the middle had a larger head and red skin. But there were quite a few differences from the Xenomorph’s in the movies. They didn’t hunch over like dinosaurs, they stood straight up and down like a human.
“Oh no, it’s the frost demons and we are sitting in their seat.” Whispered Luar as she warned them sternly.
The frost demons continued to walk towards them with angry expressions on their faces or perhaps that was just their normal look. Lucif wasn’t too sure. Luar was about to stand up and quickly move, one of the frost demons was about to open their mouth when Lucifer smiled. His smirk was like one from a person that looked down on the world. His lower fangs were longer than usual and overlapped his top teeth like an Orc but not on such a large scale.
His teeth were pearly white but the smile itself was daunting, they didn’t know why but it felt like the ruthless and cold smile of a serial killer. They felt a cold shiver run up their spine and they quickly found other seats and never said a word.
“W…what?” Luar’s eyes went wide with surprise when she saw this chain of events. “Frost Demons are known for being overbearing bullies and they make up over 5% of the delinquents at school. Why did they just walk away?”

Lucif shrugged his shoulders, “Maybe they are different.”
The doors closed and the skybus slowly lifted off the ground like a helicopter. Wind was blown against the ground as blue lights twinkled below. The skybus hovered 5 meters in the air before zooming off in a flash of light.
The passengers didn’t feel any whiplash from the sudden increase in speed despite the surroundings quickly changing.
The quartet continued to chat amongst themselves, especially Lucifer who was interested in the various alien species on board. There were so many different aliens that he had trouble keeping up with all of them. One had to admit that Luar was a nerdy goody two-shoes but she seemed to get along quite well with Aruna and Ambrosia despite her timid and shy personality.
“And that one with the blue sclera contacts and little green horns?”
“Those are her real eyes not contacts, and she is a Pikeon.”
“Ah, that muscly things a girl?”
They continued to make conversation when unwittingly Enochian Academia quickly came into view. The driver slowed the bus down and suddenly announced, “Students, we will be landing in 2 minutes. Gather your belongings and pick up your rubbish otherwise this old man will scold you.”
As they looked around at their surroundings they were amazed to see how gargantuan the place was. They could see the planet down below. Its cities and factories were barely visible from this height. From this view the red planet actually looked quite beautiful.
The school itself was surrounding by its own atmosphere, almost like its own independent domain. It was essential that this atmosphere was here, they were so high up that there was barely any air to breath.
Down below there were tens and thousands of green trees, beautiful buildings, fields and centers. There were Skycars flying through the sky. Along the valleys were streams, rivers, small mountains and even clouds that formed an independent weather system for Enochian Academia. It was like a piece of the planet had broken off and floated into space. It was like an alternate dimension to the planet down below. If heaven were real, then this was the city of angels.
Majestic, beautiful and elegant, those were the three words that first came to mind when looking at a scene such as this.
“It’s beautiful…”
“Yeah, it is. This will be our home from now on girls.”
On their faces were happy expressions as they felt giddy and expectant.
The skybus landed and everyone slowly got off.
Luar looked around and spoke, “You are new students right? So you have to get your student ID and pick your subjects. We are one of the first lots so it will be best if you sign up now so you don’t have to wait. A swarm of new students will arrive shortly.”

The Nightcore Trilogy
Going to space was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime, but for Reece Danielson and his crew, it was only the beginning. As the fresh astronauts aboard the Zhengzhou International Space Station start their on-the-job training, Reece is shown a discovery that changes his entire worldview. It isn’t long before a tragic accident aboard the station sets off a series of events that not only puts the crew in danger but at odds with each other. The events quickly escalate into a man-made apocalyptic incident on the surface of the planet. A virulent plague is prematurely released which transforms everyone into flesh-eating undead, and that is only the beginning of the troubles. There are far worse things down there than zombies and possibly a few of them lurk on the station itself. The Nightcore Trilogy thematically begins with a heavy sci-fi feel coupled to a gritty space-based horror mystery. The story's layers are slowly peeled back, evolving into something much more supernatural, mythological, and high-fantasy-based. It's a mix of elements from survival horror, zombie apocalypses, ancient mythologies, supernatural stories, and harem anime. It contains semi-descriptive sex scenes (traditional and non-traditional), descriptions of gore, profanity, and adult situations, so I recommend it for mature and open-minded audiences only.
