Rey tries to quickly jump and fly toward Rosa and breathes a draconic ice breath at her, I jump and use Dimensional Step to quickly catch up to his altitude and use my scythe to grab him and throw him back down, Rosa dodges the breath headed at her since Dragon Breath isn't classified as magic and so she isn't immune nor has a resistance to it, it would do a lot of damage. On my way down I bring the scythe closer to me and start spinning turning into a falling saw blade and hit Rey's back. Rey kicks me out of the way and hits me with ice breath. I stab the scythe on the ground to stop the knockback and use Dimensional Step to get back to him and kick his neck and then use Dimensional Step to get away before he counters, but he predicted me and fired ice breath where I'd be, perfectly hitting me.

An ice breath does 1000 damage! That's what it does to me, what would that do to Rosa!? Rosa uses healing magic to restore my HP and activates the strongest dark magic, Abyss, a black energy sphere surrounds the opponent dealing massive damage and has a chance of instant killing weaker opponents. That instant kill effect will obviously not work here though. Rey is trapped in the Abyss, he's using different magic to try and break out, maybe if you mastered High Four-Attribute Magic you might have a spell to break out but as it is you will have to take the damage. After the spell ends he starts flying at Rosa, haven't you learned that we won't let you? Rosa teleports me in front of her and I start falling towards Rey, but instead of trying to avoid me Rey uses ice breath and obscures my vision, I then feel a kick on my back and I rocket straight to the ground, I look up and see Rosa using teleportation magic to try and avoid Rey.

(Lilith) [Rosa! Come here, turn into slime form and cover my chest and fly while carrying me, focus on evasion while I focus on offense, you can still launch a spell or two if there is an opening.]

(Rosa) [Yes Big Sis Lilith!]

Rosa teleported above me and turned back into a black slime and covered my chest like a shirt and started flying. Rey was looking at us and glared, but I saw what looked to be surprise and interest in his eyes. This strategy prevents us from being split up and focused on but it turns us into one target. We start flying at Rey, and he uses ice breath to intercept us, Rosa teleports us to avoid it and we appear behind Rey and I use Dragon Fist on the back of his head. He turns to look at us but we teleport again and I take out my Magic Scythe and pierce his side and plant a knee kick on his back. He uses air magic to cause a tornado around him and blows us away. He looks our way and looks annoyed, understandable.

He's down to under 5k HP, meanwhile, we're at full HP, my MP hasn't changed since I last checked and Rosa only lost around a hundred MP from the teleporting. We teleport behind him and I grab his tail and start spinning very quickly and throw him at the ground, he crashes and before he can recover we dive straight at him and I curl up turning into a 60cm in diameter mithril cannonball and smack straight at him. when we landed Rosa cast Explosion right on all of us, since Rosa's spells have no effect on either of us only Rey is taking damage from the explosion. During the explosion, I use True Close Combat on Rey. Rosa heals any fall damage we took and then we teleport out of the explosion and after the explosion finished, we looked at where Rey is, he looks very injured, but any open injuries are quickly closing.

He has less than a thousand HP, one last string of attacks should finish this. We teleport above Rey and I use Dragon Fist on the back of his head, we teleport under him and using all my strength I use both legs to kick him into the air. We teleport above him again and smash him straight down and Rosa uses Abyss on him again. We waited for the spell to wear off and were shocked at what we saw, Rey was inside a forcefield, I check his status and he was at 1 HP.

(Rey) [Gwahahaha! That was a great battle!]

(Lilith) [What! Why aren't you dead!?]

(Rosa) [Eeehh!?]

(Rey) [You see I'm a sort of test for intelligent monsters that try to get into Unique. Normally to pass the test you just have to be able to keep up with me for two hours in battle. I got caught up in the heat of battle and didn't stop the battle sooner.]

(Lilith) [A test?]

(Rey) [Yes, we can't just let any monster come here so we give any intelligent monsters coming two tests, Unique doesn't accept non-intelligent monsters as citizens, we just treat them the same as the humanoid races, pests, but we don't go out of our way to massacre them unless needed, due to the chance of a future citizen immerging from the wild. The two tests we give outside intelligent monsters who are even rarer due to all the humanoid races killing them are as follow, a strength test against me, the purpose of this test is to prevent humanoid races from sending monster spies, this test works because strong intelligent monsters are near impossible to mind control, and if by a slim chance one was controlled, they're fighting abilities aren't as natural, if a strong intelligent monster tries allying with a humanoid race, in that case, they aren't mind-controlled and pass this test the second test will catch them, and the trial master of the second test can't be easily dealt with if she discovers that you are a spy. The second test is a soul scan to see what purpose the monster has for coming to Unique if it is an evil purpose they will be told to leave and not come back if they refuse they are killed. If they pass the second test they are giving a special spiritual mark that permits you to enter any city in Unique.]

(Lilith) [Interesting.]

(Rey) [You two had me surprised in that battle. Your synergy and compatibility are amazing, your teamwork is impossible for a single opponent to break. I hope to see you at Unique's capital in the future. So I can have a chat with you again.]

(Rosa) [Okay Mr.Rey]

(Rey) [I never said my name, I see one of you possess Appraisal. I can't believe I forgot to introduce myself though. I am Rey the King of Death Forest, one of two of Unique's Trial Masters.]

Rosa turned back into her humanoid form and Rey looked at the mountain in front of us and his eyes glowed. Then in front of our eyes, a staircase appeared on the mountain.

(Rey) [Climb to the top of the mountain and take the second test. Also, try not to get the second Trial Master mad, she gets fussy when she's mad.]

Why should he care? Are they dating or something? Well, they are both Trial Masters they probably have to talk to each other a lot.

We say goodbye to Rey and start our long climb. I wonder what this second Trial Master looks like.
