After checking my status I proceed to survey my surroundings. It's a cave. I knew that but what else can I say besides I can either go left or right having no idea which goes to where stronger monsters are. Something I noticed is that since I don't have eyes my vision is based on my magic core, which I could feel inside my body. It gives me a full 360° view all around me, making me very difficult to sneak attack.
Let's take the left path for now. I proceed to walk along the path making sure to pay attention to my surroundings and checking around any turns I have to make. After about 5 minutes of walking, I spotted something. It looks like a scorpion. Besides the fact that it's at least 1.5 meters, it looks like any normal scorpion. It hasn't spotted me even if it did turn around I could just lay on the ground and pretend to be a pile of rocks. Let's appraise it before making decisions.

A weak insect monster found in deserts and caves only poses a threat to unprepared beginner adventurers due to its poison. Danger Rank: F+
I feel insulted that its rank is higher than mine despite how weak it is. Since it still hasn't moved much let's sneak up to it. I carefully move close to the scorpion and right when I'm in range I charge and do a body tackle. It connected and the scorpion tumbled a few meters.

Dealt a little over half, considering I didn't go for a vital my attack would've done 20 damage but got a 70% increase for being a surprise attack dealing 34 damage. Before the scorpion gets up I run at it and smash its head.
Gained 38 experience points. Level Up! Reached Level 2!
It's dead. Since I got experience points it has to be dead. I leveled up too nice. A crystal came out of the scorpion's corpse.

I can do something with it? I use both rock hands to somehow grab and hold it. I can't tell what I can do with it, I'll just break it. It turns to dust with little effort.

I gained from it? Interesting I'll just crush all magic stones I get. Let's check my status.

Let's just use it as bait. I'll leave it here and wait over in the corner and pretend to be a pile of rocks.
A few hours have passed since then, what happened you ask well it's simple I've killed 3 more monsters. A goblin, another scorpion, and a bat. I gained 75 experience and am level 3. These were the goblin and bat statuses.

This future sci-fi fantasy follows the progression of a few main characters as they navigate their unique spheres of life in the year 2242. The story focuses heavily on themes of guilt, personal failing, and penance. The conflict revolves around two main concepts: Man vs. Himself (Internal conflict) and Man vs Man (External conflict). The internal conflicts focus on many of the characters' inner demons and how each of them deal with the scars of the past. The external conflict centers around a mysterious criminal organization called Nexus that conducts human trafficking. There are three groups of main characters. The first group belong to a vigilante mercenary organization called Ab Aeterno. Titus, Venna, and Benjamin are Achilles team. This team is a part of Ab Aeterno's special forces branch which is designated Demon Stalkers. Their goal and mission is to perform assassinations, abductions, and destabilization operations on criminal organizations throughout the solar system. Their current mission places them directly in the path of Nexus. Titus interacted with them in his past and they seem to have unlimited reach, resources, and power. As the team faces this threat, old wounds will surface and dangerous connections to the past will emerge. The second group of characters are on the Mars colony. Randal Page is an analyst for a talent scout company on Mars. He is faced with the reality that the company he thought he was working for is in fact Nexus. His story centers around his coming to realize the duplicity of the company he works for and then his response to the startling realization of his own ignorant involvement. Also on Mars is a woman named FaRarra Njokko. She is a Nexus sex slave in a brothel on Mars and is known by the stage name of Stardust. She is striving to escape when her path crosses with Randal. The final main character is Preston Coretel. He is a monk with a mysterious and shady past. He is on the run from Nexus in more ways than one. He is seeking sanctuary on an abandoned monastery space station in order to avoid agents of Nexus and to atone for his previous involvement with Nexus.

The Fate of The Summoned In the world of Aethion things are vastly different than on Earth. There is Magic and Monsters, as well as Demons and Dragons. Throughout the history of the world there have been many wars, both between all the various nations and kingdoms and between those nations and kingdoms and the Demonic forces lead by a Demon King or Lord. There are times that the Demons gain so much more power than the other nations, or that the others are embroiled in a war against each other and the lone nation is targeted by the demons. It was during these occasions that the various Gods and Goddesses started giving two things to the races. The First of these things were the Blessings, magical blessings given to the worth for chosen things. The Second of these things were the Summoning rituals, magic rituals that could summon beings from somewhere else, that would be Chosen, by the gods. These beings have almost always come from our world, Earth. It has been centuries since this practice began and the countries of the world have almost always flourished for a time after a Chosen or group of them were Summoned. All of the countries treat the Summoned well, almost like kings or princes in their own right. Well, not all countries, there are some that have treated them almost like slaves, though those countries don’t usually last long. There is one though, that has lasted, for a long time due to their connection to their Patron Deity, the Goddess of Light. They only accept certain types of Summoned and they dote on certain members of the country more than others. Several years ago they performed a summoning, as they were being plagued by overflow from the dungeons. Now they, like the other countries of Aethion, have performed the ritual to fight against the current Demon King, who is said to possess a Blessing. This is a story about Fate, and those that fight against it and those who accept it. In this story the main character(s) do not fight their fate, like those in my other story, rather they embrace it and let it shape them, though that does not mean they are total slaves to it. While there will be similarities to most other Hero sumoning novels, i hope the Mcs abilities and such will make it unique.
