《What LITRPG There is Only Needlework [Hiatus]》Chapter 41

Sui awoke early the next morning when the sun’s rays were just barely peaking in through the open curtains they’d neglected to shut. The other two had chosen to take the couch after Sui had settled into one of the beanbags and curled up. Trina and Aife had attempted to argue with Sui only to realise that she’d already fallen asleep.
So, when she woke up and saw her friends nearby Sui realised there was only one thing to do at this early hour, and that was to take Trina’s measurements. Now, you might be wondering, why Sui would need such a thing but… when making new clothes, surely, you’d make use of the best model available, the real person.
Sui crept over to Trina and Aife’s sleeping form and then placed her hand on Trina’s pyjamas, one on the top half and one on the bottom. Then once she established control over each garment Sui caused them to contract so that she had a perfect mental picture of Trina.
Hmm, interesting. Looks like she’s gained a bit of weight. Maybe around [REDACTED] or so. Though, she has some additional muscle in her legs now meaning that if I want to make pants, I’ll have to account for that.
Now do I want to make her a dress or a shirt and skirt or pants… hmm, I’m not sure. There are pros and cons to both. Let’s think on the reason I’m doing this then. Primarily it is to ensure that she’s a bit safer during the waves… but it looks like the more recent ones haven’t been that bad.
So, do I want to go with a skirt as a, Sui shivered even as she barely considered the idea. Rush job? Sui shook her head in disgust. Nope nope. I can’t do it. The wave isn’t quite that pressing. Still though… she might look nice in a good dress, and I was making this one I’m still stuck in for her…
Do I want to just copy my work with this? Sui found the idea of simply reusing a design distasteful, even if said design was intended for Trina in the first place. I could however do a slightly different take on it instead perhaps?

Sui examined herself and looked for areas to improve. Hmm, maybe if I… maybe change up the embroidering? Make it back into something frilly… but no that doesn’t really make any sense. I’m making this because the waves are dangerous. Having a bunch of extra cloth could spell disaster.
Maybe I need to stick with shirt and pants then? Make them type and form fitting. Find some of my nicer cloth. Though… do I have zippers? Hmm Sui eyed Trina’s assets. Yup can’t get away with making anything form fitting for her without zippers. Hmmm… but is that ideal?
I know that cloth fitting clothes can prevent her from getting it caught somewhere… but perhaps it needs some bulk to it so that it is the outfit that gets attacked instead of the person underneath…?
Sui clicked her tongue. When she did so, right next to Trina and Aife, Trina shifted in her sleep slightly and groaned. Sui froze in place and held her breath. Seconds past… and after a full minute without further movement Trina’s breathing started back up.
Dammit breathing! I forgot about that as well. Aife always says that intense exercise requires proper use of your language and good breathing form. Now I still don’t know what that actually means, but I do know she complained that one time I made her shirt really really tight when we were younger.
So then… maybe a long sleeve dress, decently form fitting with enough room to breathe. I like that, ok. Sui carefully got up and went to her sewing desk and started to go looking for some thread. Hmm, should I grab some yarn instead and take it apart and remake it? No, I don’t quite have that much time.
Sui looked over her nice thread. She had a few options to choose from. Hmm. Sui noticed that she had two large bundles of blue thread that were decent quality. They weren’t quite at the standard she was hoping for but the bundles were large, and meant she actually had enough to be certain she could make the whole dress.
Picking out the thread from the drawer, Sui grabbed a bolt of pink for the highlights and moved back out to the lounge room. Stopping in the doorway, Sui turned back and grabbed a bolt of yarn as well.

When she returned to the lounge room, Sui ran the yarn along Trina’s length and connected it to her pyjamas before running it along the ground to the table. Sui’s plan was to keep using her thread control on the yarn to double check Trina’s measurement as she was putting the dress together.
Once Sui was seated, she checked her guess with her power and found that as long as she didn’t try to move any of the yarn or mess with Trina’s dress, she could hold the image in her mind easily. I wonder how long I can keep this up, or if it gets harder once I start sewing this together.
Sui looked down at the bolts she’d picked out. Do I really want to do this by sewing everything together rather than taking a few large reams of cloth? The answer yes came to her almost instantly. Dammit, it’s just so much more interesting this way.
And so Sui got started. As she worked, she found that it was easy to keep both what Trina’s clothes looked like and what she was working on in her mind at once. Her advanced wisdom stat allowing for this easily, even if Sui couldn’t recognise the cause.
Once it was noticed, that keeping the image was easy, Sui simply held the form of Trina’s pyjamas in one corner of her mind as she worked, checking back for measurements in various areas of Trina’s body and making the appropriate adjustments as she went.
It was around three hours later when Aife started to stir, waking Trina in the process. She was… not amused to find her pyjamas bound tightly to her form. Trina started to panic slightly trying to throw off whatever it was that was holding her so tight but…
Of course, with her clothes conforming perfectly to her body she couldn’t exactly take them off either. Finally, when her eyes opened, she noticed the long string of yarn leading back to Sui at the table.
After a quick glance to check that Aife was already waking up, Trina yelled out “SUI!!”
This shook Sui out of her trance. The slight movement of the section of yarn and the occasional shift of Trina’s outfit paused completely and Sui stopped working on the half-finished dress in front of her.
“Yes?” said Sui looking over at the panicking Trina with a tilted head and a confused look.
“What are you doing?!” growled Trina
“Uh? Making you a dress?” asked Sui like it was a question
Trina’s glare intensified as she said “I meant, with my pyjamas”
“Oh” said Sui in understanding… though not the one Trina wanted “I’m using that to take your measurements while I work on the new dress”
Trina’s eyes narrowed “You don’t think that is a might inappropriate?”
“No?” said Sui “Why would I? I’m making you a dress and I need measurements, and I didn’t wake you up doing it… I think that’s everything important”
Trina nearly chocked on Sui’s response “Everything important? Everything important? Don’t you think that maybe there is something wrong with this?”
Sui turned her gaze to Aife with eyes begging to know what she had done wrong. Aife however was just as confused and returned a shrug. “No?” asked Sui unsure of herself
“Well, let’s start with this. Why is my outfit so tight?” asked Trina
“Well then I have exact measurements. I can feel the thread with my mind and compare the two” said Sui
“Right… so you can feel what your thread is touching yes? That’s how you’re making the dress right?” asked Trina
“Yes of course?” said Sui confused. Didn’t I just explain that?
“So, don’t you perhaps think it’s weird to be feeling me up while I sleep with my girlfriend?” asked Trina
“Nope” said Sui, the picture of innocence “It’s the best way to get measurements and I don’t see how the fact you are sleeping on Aife changes that”
Trina groaned and lay back down “You know Aife. I’m really not sure why I didn’t see that coming”
Aife just shrugged and hugged Trina closer “You know, she really doesn’t see any issues”
“Yeah” said Trina “I just don’t know if that makes it better or worse”
“Better” said Aife without a second’s hesitation “Certainly better”
