《What LITRPG There is Only Needlework [Hiatus]》Chapter 37

Sui went about her collection calmly. That seemed to be the only way to go about things. Aife was still having trouble. Even with her leading Trina around and smiling brightly, whenever she tried to grasp a rabbit they seemed to dart off.
Trina, despite being blindfolded, was having better luck then Aife was. She simply let Aife take her to an area then kneeled down and let the rabbits come to her. A few were always scared off by Aife, but the field was full to the brim with rabbits so it didn’t hinder Trina’s efforts too much.
Aife seemed to flit, between three main states as best Sui could determine. The main one was a calm smile as she tried and failed to pick up rabbits. The next state then contained furrowed brows and tensed muscles.
This then led to Trina pulling Aife close and whispering something Sui couldn’t hear, and Aife would go bright red, before calming down and failing to catch any of the rabbits. Ito was even able to join in… sort of.
The ‘little’ spider was able to get in close with the rabbits and they didn’t even seem scared. She could hug them, and at one point, Sui was almost sure she could see Ito playing cards with a group of three rabbits. When she looked a second time the cards had vanished, but odd indents in the grass remained.
Ito still had no way to carry them though, so she mostly settled for riding around the place with Sui. Ito was sure to keep out of Sui’s palm so that she didn’t take up and spot for rabbits. Of course, once Sui realised these rabbits all have a shockingly good sense of balance, she stepped up her game.
Trina stuck to a simple set of three spread across her hand and held tightly against her chest while her other arm gripped onto Aife. Aife… well… she tried, but it was Sui who went a little crazy. By the time they were approaching the final five minutes Sui was practically loaded with rabbits. She had two on her head, one sitting in the crook of her neck, on either shoulder, a set across her arm she held against her chest and another one on her palm.

On top of this, Sui also allowed a bunch of rabbits to crawl up into her sleeves, finally finding a good use for the ridiculously oversized things. She wasn’t sure exactly how many came along for the ride that way but it likely doubled her rabbit carrying capacity.
When Sui got to the rabbit hutch to empty her sleeves, a veritable wave of rabbits poured out. That… there is no way I had that many rabbits in my sleeves, right? Sui decided, for once, to not investigate the strange situation and simply close the lid and walk back into the field of rabbits.
“Aife” said Trina
Aife must have heard something in Trina’s voice that Sui didn’t, because she stood up straighter and seemed to almost radiate happiness from just the one word. Sui tilted her head a bit, but the next line explained it all.
“You can go rabbit hunting now” said Trina
Aife grinned, mouth blossoming into a smile that showed way more teeth than should be considered ok. Trina let go of Aife’s arm, though it looked slightly reluctant to Sui’s eyes. Aife then cracked her knuckles before patting Trina on the head.
Once this was done Aife pulled her head to the left until her neck let out a light crack, and then moved to do the same to the right. “Oh yeah, it’s time to get that little shit” said Aife before she blurred into motion.
Aife cut through the sea of rabbits sprinting over halfway across the field in a few blinks. She seemed to be aiming for something specific as she barrelled through other rabbits that just sort of got pushed out of her way.
Somehow the massive force of air surrounding Aife didn’t seem to hurt them, in fact they hardly even reacted to her passing once they’d moved out of the way. As Aife sped along though, more and more rabbits started to make way for her, leaving a wake behind her that didn’t seem to be closing any time soon.
As the sea of rabbits parted, it became clear, there was one rabbit in particular that Aife wanted to catch. Sui could see them eyeing each other, and she could swear that a glint of light passed across the scene.

Aife reached, out, arms outstretched, as she dove forward to the spot the little creature was occupying, trying to ensure she made herself as large as possible to cover any avenues of escape it might have.
Clearly this didn’t work, as the rabbit simply sped underneath her leaping form and shot back into the mess of rabbits disappearing from Sui’s sight. Well, I guess that ends… Aife then took off directly to the left, decidedly not the direction Sui had seen the rabbit escape, but it appeared Aife new something Sui didn’t.
Welp, this is going to go on for a while. As cool as it was, to see Aife moving at such speeds Sui still had a job to do. She grabbed some nearby bunnies before walking over to Trina and trimming some more thread off her outfit and tying them to each other. “Come on I’ll lead you around” said Sui
Neglecting to mention that… she might have taken a bit more than a smidge of cloth to make the rope. Trina was now in a much shorter outfit then she’d entered the round with, but she either hadn’t noticed or wasn’t going to comment.
Back with Aife, the battle was in full force once again. The rabbit Aife was targeting was running along the fence. This wouldn’t be so extortionary, except for the fact, that it chose to run along the side of it, somehow keeping itself glued to the wall in spite of gravity.
Aife for her part sped after it, always just short of grabbing it in her hands. She was just about to reach around the two thirds mark of her second lap when she grinned. Aife kept her chase up and the cocky little rabbit she was chasing seemed to smirk back at her before poking its tongue out.
Aife just grinned like the cat that ate the canary. Behind the rabbit, Sui and Trina were about to open up the fence again. Aife knew that when they got close it’d open up. She was hoping the cocky little rabbit in front of her wouldn’t notice or be aware of what was about to happen.
She was right, just before the rabbit in question was about to step over the next picket in the fence, it widened to allow Sui and Trina passage. Sui had noticed what was about to happen but made no attempt to stop it, and simply made sure they were out of Aife’s path as she was barrelling through
Back to the rabbit; its legs pushed off empty space and its eyes went wide. It turned its body in mid-air and glared at Aife as she smiled even wider. The rabbit started to slow as it fell, not majorly, but with Aife hot on its tail and it thinking it could forever outrun her, it had allowed itself to be only just outside of her range.
That tiny loss of speed was enough, Aife kicked off with both feet at once, rocketing towards the rabbit. It squeaked in protest and tried to manoeuvrer itself out of the way and ride the wind Aife was making, but alas it was hopeless.
Aife managed to grasp the small bunny in her hand, and while she was flying through the sky with reckless abandoned, she was still careful with it in her hand. She continued on her path until she slammed head first into the fence. It shook, vibrating as it tried to recover from the impact.
Aife slid down face first and groaned, world spinning as she tried to recover herself. As she did this, her hand slipped open just enough for the rabbit to sneak out… but instead it chose to stay.
It huddled closer into Aife’s palm and licked it lightly. As it did so, the sea of rabbits vanished. The hutch popped out of existence, and Sui was greeted with a number of notifications.
Congratulations you’ve cleared the seventh wave.
You have been healed
You have received an achievement unrelated to threadwork, would you like to view it?
“Huh, that’s strange I guess you can see these even with the blindfold on. Wouldn’t have expected that” said Trina
Hmm, guess I can at least see what the achievement is, it might be- Sui’s thoughts were interrupted by a high pitch squeal from Aife. She can actually make a sound that high? I’m not sure how that’s possible Thought Sui as she turned to see what had gotten her friend so worked up.
