Lore, The system
The system is a most mysterious subject of study and many conflicting theories on its origin, purpose and goals, if it has any, have been shared among the learned over the eons. The first recorded theory on its origin was in fact found in the ruins of the continental nexus, dating back to the age of enlightenment 24 thousand years ago. The ancient record declares The system to be a design of the gods' making and woven into the fabric of reality itself. There is no mention on which gods this theory refers to but many religions have taken to freely include their entity of worship as a contributor or proclaim it as the sole creator.
This is only one of the many theories discussed in this work, being more commonly known as a legend to the scholars studying the subject in this age. The origin and time of creation can sometimes give unfounded strength to the claims presented, especially in works from the age of enlightenment and relics of the nexus. There are however other theories with actual evidence to back them up and these can not be dismissed out of hand, no matter the god or gods you may worship.
Classes, skills and all their intricacies will be discussed, shining light upon claims made by others and presenting some of its own. Why is it that only sapient creatures get classes? Why do sentient creatures without sapiens evolve every 100 levels? Why can experience only be gained through violence and a few specific achievements or actions? How much slower do sapient creatures grow when fighting together, and why is that? Questions like these will be answered, all tying together to create an answer for the most difficult question of them all: Why does The system exist?

In The Tall Grass
Elizabeth Wilson commits suicide. She was the golden girl among her peers in Darkwood, Washington who stood above the pressure of her drug-ridden town. Explore the summer before her senior year that triggered the domino effect of Elizabeth's emotional and psychological breakdown that lead her to take her own life. This is the prequel to the main story, Petrichor and was never intended to be made. I wrote this because I wanted to explore Elizabeth's character and show how the main characters have changed since this event. I decided to release this first because Petrichor is undergoing a full rewrite. In the meantime, I'm writing a side story called Mourning Glory that takes place between the second and third act of Petrichor. Development is going rather fast so I suggest to to read that if you like this story

Crafter's Passion (AKA Gleaners' Guild)
2038, California. Stan is doing his mandatory "volunteer" service years on a collective farm when he encounters Thousand Tales, a game that offers immortality to the super-rich. He can't afford to have his brain uploaded like those elite customers, but maybe he can turn a profit out of the game instead of just playing it. Not as a legendary swordsman or a brilliant wizard, but as a dealer in the junk no one else seems to want. If he plays his cards right, he can draw the attention of both the farm's supervisor and the game's ruling, meddling AI. Should he, though? LitRPG. Part of the world of "Thousand Tales", a novel series on Amazon, though no knowledge of it is expected. This story is around 12K words long. I'd appreciate feedback to help write a much longer version! Updates every few days. Cover art from game-icons.net, by Lorc, CC-BY. Update! This story was originally called "Gleaners' Guild". It came out on Amazon under the name "Crafter's Passion" and has many reviews there, thanks in part to the support of RR readers like you. Thanks! It even has a sequel, "Crafter's Heart".
