Chapter 20
Just next to the Bindan central square stood a large mansion. Recognized by all villagers, it represented power and authority.
One could see that it was a massive complex. A fancy red tile roof decorated its top, and its walls were a creamy color. A dark blue door marked this mansion’s entrance.
In front of the mansion, there was a large front yard, which was encircled by an enormous iron fence. In this yard, a large grass lawn stretched from fence to fence.
On the edge of the iron fence, a wide metal gate blocked others from entering. Pasted on this front gate’s top was a wooden plaque with the words "Governor's Mansion" neatly inscribed on it. Two guards holding tall spears stood proudly on both sides of this gate, protecting the large building.
It was a sunny day. The atmosphere was great, and a relaxing breeze blew past the mansion and its surrounding houses.
“DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!” Suddenly, a shrill, high-pitched wail rang out through the air, disrupting the peace.
A chubby, blue-haired little boy ran haphazardly towards the gate. Practically screaming as he ran, he stumbled and almost tripped over his own legs, but at the last second, managed to keep his balance.
It was Finn, uncoordinated as ever.
"Young master!" From about fifty meters away, the two spear-holding guards simultaneously shouted out. They ran towards the small blue haired child and hurriedly propped him up, frantically questioning him: "What happened? Young master, what happened?"
"Take me to my dad!" Finn wheezed. He took a few seconds to breath in and out. "I need to talk to him!”
"Yes, right away.” The two guards spoke in unison. Opening the gate, they guided Finn into the front yard of the Governor's mansion.
----------
A few minutes later.
Finn and a large adult were sitting at a table, facing each other. Around them was a lavish-looking room, with many expensive-looking paintings and scrolls hanging on the walls.
The large man Finn was facing had a hefty figure and sharp-looking eyes. He wore expensive-looking satin clothes and his long black hair was tied into a bun.
On sight, any Bindan Village resident would recognize him... After all, he was the governor!
As Finn sat at the table, he began to talk loudly. His fist slammed into the table sporadically as he blabbered, and his mouth sent out globs of spit every few words.
"... and then Zairen tried to beat me up, but I ran away as fast as I could." Finn explained noisily, as he looked up at his father with expectant eyes. “Dad, you have to punish him!”
“...” Furrowing his heavy brows, the governor sorted out in his head the information Finn had just gave him. He blinked twice before responding: "Ok... So according to you, Alivia and this Zairen boy bullied you... And now, you want me to punish them?"
"Yup!" Finn gleefully replied. "That’s exactly right!"
Hearing his son’s words, the governor leaned back in his chair and let out a deep sigh. His weary pupils eyed Finn carefully, and his face kept a tired expression.
"That’s really what happened?" He asked slowly.
"Yes! Yes! That’s what happened." Finn enthusiastically confirmed. “Especially, punish that Zairen! He almost killed me!” He rubbed his head soothingly, as if he had received a heavy injury.

Listening to his son talk, the governor was no fool. He was aware that his son had a history of bratty behavior and deceit. Ever since Finn was younger, he had always incessantly bothered other people. When he didn’t get his way, he would turn to his father for help, often twisting the story in the process.
He felt a bit guilty. From ever since Finn was young, the governor had always spoiled his young child. He felt that it was a bit of his fault that Finn had turned out this way, lying and constantly bothering others.
“I see.” The governor said, standing up. He was a very busy man, and didn’t have time to pander to Finn’s whining. “If they are ‘bullying’ you so much, how about just ignore them? You can go play with your other friends."
Saying that, the governor walked towards the door and exited the room.
“What?!” Finn exclaimed. “But… dad!”
Kak! Despite his pleas, the only response Finn received was the sound of the door shutting loudly behind him.
“...” Seeing his father leave, Finn sat silently at the table, fuming. His face contorted into a furious expression.
Unconsciously clenching his fists, he thought to himself: ‘Father won't help me... why won’t father help me???’’
As he grit his teeth, Finn suddenly felt a memory pop into his mind.
A small black-cloaked figure stood silently on a large arena. Standing a distance away was a much larger fighter, who charged at him. A moment later, the larger fighter was unconscious, face down on the ground, and the black-cloaked figure was stepping on him, his right foot pressing down on his back.
That black-cloaked person was simply unstoppable.
‘I have to be like Black Cloak... beating through any challenge!!! Who cares if dad won’t help me. I’ll teach Zairen a lesson myself!’
-----------
Zairen’s room, a full day later. It was already afternoon, and bright yellow sunlight shone through the cabin window.
Zairen opened his eyes. His entire body felt in like it was on fire.
“Guh…! So sore!”
His face instantly clenched with pain. Legs... arms... waist... it was all sore beyond belief!
“Fwuh!” With great effort, he grunted out and lifted his body. Teetering back and forth, he just barely managed to sit up.
After doing so, he immediately took a meditative position and channeled his spirit energy all throughout his body, attempting to alleviate the soreness of his torn muscles. Shuu... shuu...
“I didn't think it would be so difficult to even get near that woman…” Zairen shook his head. However, he immediately regretted doing so as a fresh wave of soreness assaulted his neck, causing Zairen to almost heave forward.
Squinting in pain, Zairen recalled that in the last minute before he had left the space, he had used all his effort to lift his head up to inspect the woman. No wonder his neck was so sore!
When the spike in neck pain finally began to dissipate, Zairen started to remember the results of his quick inspection he did on the woman. Although he couldn't call it a full diagnosis, it was enough for Zairen, who prided himself on being able to cure any illness, to identify what the poison the mysterious woman in the ring was affected by.

As the identity of the poison came back into his head, Zairen found himself breathing heavily.
It was actually Dragon Poison!
Not only that, but it was Dragon Poison that originated from a King Ice Dragon! Heavens, from a King Ice Dragon!
That was… that was impossible! Zairen shook his head softly, finding that he almost couldn’t believe it.
Dragon Poison.
Zairen knew the term inside out. It was an incredibly rare and powerful poison that originated from the blood of one of the most noble and powerful species on the planet, the dragon! To make the poison, one had to first gather the blood of a dragon.
Although dragon blood in its original form was a healing substance, it could also be used to create an incredibly potent poison - appropriately named Dragon Poison! It would either kill you quickly, or if you were strong enough, wear your body down until you inevitably perished. It was almost impossible to cure or dissipate! The more powerful the dragon, the more potent the blood, and the dangerous the poison. The legend was, if you could get your hands on Dragon Poison, you could rule the world! Nothing could stop you!
Naturally, it was also incredibly difficult to concoct, and one could imagine how tough it was to get dragon blood in the first place. A person had to either kill a dragon and gather its blood, or injure a dragon, acquire its blood, and manage to flee safely - that was a nearly unfathomable feat!
But what Zairen truly couldn't believe was that the poison that the woman was infected with was made from the blood of a King Ice Dragon! A King Ice Dragon was a king of all ice element dragons - one was only born in every ten thousand years! Legend had it that with one breath, a King Ice Dragon could level a city, freezing solid all of its inhabitants. One could imagine how powerful the poison created from its blood would be!
On the list of top fifty poisons in his old continent, Dragon Poison was listed as twenty-third. However, that was because Dragon Poison made from the blood of anything greater than a weaker ordinary dragon had never been identified! Ever! This was why although it was still on the list, it didn't rank that high. Zairen suspected that if the poison the mysterious woman in the ring was suffering from was added to the list, it would rank much higher, maybe even top ten!
Zairen’s eyes were glistened in disbelief. He hadn't had time to process this information before he had fainted when in the interdimensional space, but now, the full brunt of it hit him.
In truth, he had never seen a dragon before in his life, not even the weakest of dragons. They were that rare and lofty! And in the thousands of patients he had treated, only one person had ever been infected by Dragon Poison, and it was Dragon Poison made from the blood of a baby dragon. Just that one patient had taken Zairen half a year to treat, and Zairen had to invent his own medicine using incredibly rare materials that could somewhat dissipate it. No one had ever heard of someone getting cured from Dragon Poison, not even one procured from the blood of a baby dragon, so he had actually broken some kind of record.
Yet, this mysterious beautiful woman was infected by Dragon Poison made from the blood of a King Ice Dragon!
Zairen found himself shaking his head.
In the past, he had only been able to cure a person inflicted by Dragon Poison because he had possessed a much larger supply of spirit energy, because the poison was of a baby dragon, and because back then, he had gained access to an enormous selection of incredibly valuable and rare herbs to use.
For this woman’s poison… Although he could use Heaven Divine Healing to ease the woman’s pain and perhaps allow her to gain consciousness, it would not be able to cure or dissipate the poison. Eventually, the woman would still succumb to it.
He could use the silver needles he had bought in the village square to expel any excess poison that had not already entered the bloodstream, but since she had laid in the space for over a hundred years, he suspected that all of the poison had more than certainly entered the woman’s bloodstream.
Finally, although he could try to create pills that could treat the poison, with the measly supply of low-end herbs he currently possessed, how could he possibly create anything that could do anything to such a scary poison?
As Zairen thought of the crushing pressure he had experienced in the ring, relating it to how paralyzed his body felt now, and further about the poison he had identified, he couldn’t help but be absolutely flabbergasted of that beautiful black-haired woman.
Just who was this mysterious woman, anyway?! Owning a interdimensional ring that could contain life and had a space of ten thousand cubic meters, able to resist Dragon Poison from a King Ice Dragon for over a hundred years, and sending out a pressure that absolutely destroyed him even when she was unconscious… He couldn't believe such an unfathomable person could exist! How could he cure such an outrageous poison with the tools he had right now?
Zairen put his head into his hands. He suddenly found that this situation was completely out of his hands. “It’s impossible…”
As he thought, he blinked a few times.
“I’m supposed to be a Medical Saint that can ‘cure any illness’!” He suddenly muttered to himself. “I at least have to try…”
Suddenly, he looked up, and his eyes started to glisten. Looking intently at the dull-looking ring on his finger, his expression suddenly increased in intensity!
“Even if it’s impossible… I have to do it! What is impossible other than just something a person hasn’t done yet?”
He grit his teeth. His pride was on the line. Even if it seemed impossible, he still had to try to cure the woman!
In that moment, he briefly forgot that in his current state, he wasn’t able to even physically approach the woman without being crushed by her pressure.
