《Land of Ilragorn》Chapter 42- Father Son Brawl
Advertisement
I wake up sensing two things walking towards my home, one is my father, the other is familiar, but I don’t know who they are.
Getting up out of my comfortable bed is sad, but has to be done.
I open the door before they even have a chance to knock, seeing that it’s the annoying girl clerk who brought my father to me.
(“What do you want.”)
“I’m here to tell you that your adventurer license is getting revoked.”
(“Excuse me?”)
“You are breaking adventurer rule section 1 page 3 of someone under 15 joining without a parent or guardians permission, so we have to revoke your license.”
(“My parent aren’t even fifteen, just exempt me because I’m S-Class or something.”)
“Sorry rules are rules, and we can’t break anymore for you.”
“Shadowstealer, give me permission to be an adventurer.”
“No, we are going home!”
“Who’s gonna make me.”
"I will!"
“You and what army.”
“I don’t need an army to fight my own son.”
"Your opponent is Wild infant Filolial (LVL hidden for sacred duel)" "Demand: Choosing..." "Would you like to make a demand?"
“My Demand is that you’ll give me permission to be an adventurer.”
“Mine is that you’ll come home with us.”
"Are you sure you would like to accept these demands?"
“Yes.”
“I accept.”
"Confirmed, sending demand offer to nearby authority to comply."
“What, using a sacred duel for something as small as this, just take him home, you're the dad, just tell him to listen, show him your dominance or something.”
(“That’s assuming he’s stronger than me, which he isn’t.”)
Telepathy gained an LVL.
“He’s not?”
“Let’s go outside the city, I’m pretty sure you could easily destroy it by accident.”
“I’m ready whenever, but we shouldn’t do it in the grasslands, that’s a bad idea.”
“Oh, then do you know of a place we could fight.”
Thirty minutes later
It’s an opening of short grass, no trees or anything, just a plain open area at noon.
“Are you both ready?”
We both nod.
My plan is to show him the difference in skill immediately by manipulating my shadow to dodge his then react from there.
Shadow manipulation is a skill I’ve been slacking on, but it’s not complete garbage.
“Begin!”
I charge and sure enough, his shadow comes straight for me.
Using shadow manipulation I narrowly dodge, no he got me, he is much more skillful at manipulating it then I am, but now that he’s connected, might as well use combustion.
Combustion is the skill that just sets me on fire, and apparently it is a direct counter to shadow magic because it is technically hurting me, but because I’m immune to fire, nothing happens to me, but he feels the heat.
He screams out in pain due to feeling burned, but he still is able to get a poison breath out.

I immediately feel like I’m being poisoned, but turning on pain nullification is an easy solution.
I started shooting some Pepper Breath potshots.
Using my SPD he dodges expertly.
He starts running, probably hoping to run till the poison takes me down, but I have already cured it with doctors' touch.
I chase with flight, because with flights SPD is increased by my INT.
Easily catching up, I hit him with a cursed wing, and then I ran away.
I only recently found out what it was, it’s apparently a curse type attack that damages the body over time, I don’t know why it says body, it might mean that it can attack the soul, I don’t know, I haven’t seen the curse element ever.
I fly away until I can’t sense his shadow connected anymore.
His health should slowly lower, just like he wanted to do to me with poison.
I am cursed too, but I can heal, he can not.
True Vision is so useful, I can easily sense that he is rushing towards me.
I use tidal wave as a distraction.
The huge wave shows up and he stops to run away.
But while he turned his back to me I got in front of the tidal wave.
I use flamethrower, he turns around and gets hit, he doesn’t have a reaction time boost as I do, then we both get slammed by Tidal Wave.
It doesn’t hurt that much, but I also get free movement in water because I can fly, and because of the flamethrower steam it gets rid of his vision.
I then use forge to make a cage of hardened dirt around him then enchant it with life steal touch.
That is such an overpowered combo.
I sense his shadow coming towards me, and quickly jump backward, as well as manipulating my shadow out of the way.
He then tries to shoot poison at me, I’m still too far away.
Next he squeezes out of the cage, I don’t know either, must be a secret skill, as well as how he gets out of chains.
Next I use earth removal to get rid of the ground underneath him, then while he’s falling I use forge on the ground to seal him in there, as well as enchanting the walls life steal touch again.
This time there are no walls to go through, this time it’s checkmate.
Shadowstealer POV
I’m trapped and getting damaged somehow.
I have no idea how I’m getting out of this.
“Use me.”
“No, there has to be a way out.”
I only have five skills.
Shadow manipulation LVL 10, 3d Shadow Manipulation LVL 3, Poison Immunity LVL 10, Poison Breath LVL 7, and Flexibility LVL 8.
“You will run out of air before you lose all your health, he’s better than pride said.”
“You can run out of air!?”
“Yes, now use me.”
“No, there is another way.”

“What other way?”
“I don’t know yet.”
A bunch of small holes showed up in the roof.
Is he pitying me?
Water suddenly started falling from the holes.
It wasn’t alarming at first, but it quickly started filling the hole cage.
“I found my way.”
“You will not be able to fit through those holes with flexibility.”
“Why not?”
“Because that hole would take it’s tier 3 skill body folding.”
The water is already up to my neck.
“You will drown if you continue like this, choose.”
I will regret this.
“Give me the freaking boost.”
Back to Kwehzalcoatl
This should finish him off, he’s not strong enough to break the dirt without skills, I know because I would have trouble breaking it.
First of all it’s at least two feet thick, and it’s hardened to be as strong as my magic armor.
It will only be a matter of time before he loses, unless he has some sort of water breathing skill, unlikely, and the enchantment of lifesteal would still work.
*Boom*
The ground shook as something happened in my dad's chamber.
*Boom* *Boom* *Boom*
The ground is rising, the hardened ground is raising.
*Burst*
My dad jumped out of his hole and his shadow was immediately on me.
I tried to shrink my shadow, but he caught it and then breathed poison on me.
He then ran up and started kicking me.
It’s not that I was staying still, he was kicking me and running faster then he kicked me.
I was also trying to use fly to stop my momentum, but slowing it down made me get kicked earlier.
The Next attempt was I shot a couple pepper breaths towards him.
He just ran through it, and the kicking continued.
Next I used Earth Removal, removing the ground beneath him and I also used forge to move the ground behind to create a wall to stop myself.
He jumped out and tried to start the chase again.
I used inferno on him, he was obviously surprised, but when it hit him it only slowed him down a little bit.
While he was deterred I used doctors' touch on myself and found a shocking revelation.
"Doctors Touch slightly healed shattered ribs, recovery 30%"
I am losing, why am I losing, I shouldn’t be losing.
Do I want to go to that village again, no, definitely not, no, I’m not going there?
I can still win, he was slowed down by inferno, I will win.
My aura suddenly turns from a normal living being's transparent aura to pure red, as well as being visible to the normal eye.
“Do you want more help?”
“Who's there?”
“My name is pride, I chose you to bear my sin.”
Time has seemed like it has stopped.
“Pride? I’m the least prideful person I can think of.”
“Pride is the nature of over believing in oneself, true you may lack in some areas of pride, but you make up for it in other ways.”
“So what do you want.”
“Many things, but from you, I want your name.”
“My name, you definitely can’t have that.”
“No not physically, I want you to become famous, I want you to have something to be prideful about.”
“How will I give you that.”
“Just by doing it with my title, however if you fail to do it within a time frame you will be punished with pain equal to getting burned by Wrigh fire for an entire day.”
I don’t know what Wrigh fire is, but I guess it’s painful.
“What do I get then?”
“Enough power to beat your father, even if he gets stronger again, though the more power you borrow the less time you have.”
I don’t know if this is worth it, but it’s better than my plan of spamming inferno.
“I’ll do it.”
“Good choice.”
My power soared, the aura that just surrounded my body grew to the size of a full-grown elephant.
My reaction time went through the roof, it was already really fast, now it’s double that, double really fast.
I tried walking, but it was too slow, so I tried neutral running.
It was like I teleported.
Shadowstealer was at least a hundred meters away, and I cleared it in a millisecond.
It was at this moment, he knew, he messed up.
I kicked up, right in his jaw, as well as launching him in the air.
If I was going to kill him I would’ve used flamethrower with an MP Boost.
But because I needed him afterward I used two tidal waves, one starting on the ground, and one in the air.
With him in the middle.
Shadowstealer POV ten seconds earlier
“I’m sorry.”
“Why, I’m winning?”
“Not anymore, I can’t win anymore.”
“What do you mean.”
“Pride is helping him.”
“Then shouldn’t I go to equal him.”
“No, I can’t oppose a superior.”
“What, a superior?”
“He is my superior, he has more power than me.”
“So, he has to have a price as well, it will be-.”
*Boom*
Kwehzalcoatl appeared in front of me.
Suddenly I was in the air.
*Kaboosh*
The water hit me on both sides.
I felt like I was hit by a mountain.
Before I blackout I see my son, standing on the ground, doing nothing, losing nothing, gaining nothing, just standing.
It sort of gave me pride, that’s my son, he made it to strength I could never think of.
It then made me sad, thinking that he hates me for what I’ve done.
If I could do it again, maybe I wouldn’t be so lazy.

And when the world was gone, he remained. This is his tale. I take 0% credit for the title picture. I just pasted stuff together and did the best I could with a mac touchpad.
