《Land of Ilragorn》Chapter 40- Don't want to see

“Is that the sewers?”
“Ew gross.”
“Wait, is that a cage, is somebody down there?”
“Hey! Anybody down there, can you hear us?!”
Shoot, the townspeople are looking through the hole Suvunkilbub made with her light laser.
Probably wasn’t her best move, but it got the big hippo to go away.
“You should go, I’ll distract them by going up.”
“On it, thanks Suvunkilbub.”
“Don’t die and congratulations on getting true vision without cutting your eyes out.”
With that she flew up, making the people gasp, how did they not see her go down?
Anyway I started running, (“Unix, are you ready to go?”)
“Was that Suvunkilbub, and Goustough, who are you.”
(“A sweet little Chocobo who wants to leave and get away from the people who will come down the hole.”)
“You communicated with Goustough, and convinced him to leave, how, I want to know how.”
(“First things first, we have to leave!”)
“Answer me while running.”
She flew closer to me as if that would help.
(“Nunya.”)
“Nunya Bizness?”
(“Exactly.”)
“I’ll trade you for your information.”
(“What will you trade?”)
“Seventy percent of the Zoulx we earn.”
Woah, that’s a lot of money, but I already get fifty percent, and I’m content with that.
(“No deal.”)
“Any equipment you request?”
(“Nothing comes to mind, why do you want it so bad anyway?”)
She was quiet.
“A divine beast destroyed my town.”
Oh wow, I kinda called the bad past.
(“Do you know which one it was?”)
“Dunga and Weler, the goblin divine beasts.”
(“Oh, well they’re dead.”)
She stopped flying, “What do you mean?”
(“They were killed, lost in a fight.”)
She started sobbing, “How do you know, I know you like to joke, but I don’t like that-”
(“I killed them personally.”)
She stopped.
(“Now I’ll tell you all about it, but let's get to your base first.”)
She nodded, still sobbing.
We got to the exit of the sewers, it was dark outside, around one, and it didn’t take us long to reach their base.
“Unix, where were you, did you hide in the sewers.”
He approached her and put his hands on her shoulders.
“Talk!”
(“Okay.”)
I walked around her and sat down on a chair and motioned her to do the same.
(“Tell this to everybody, I’ll give you ten seconds to look at my status, things to look at are my race and some titles.”)
She did and everybody waited in anticipation to uncover my secrets.
I then got rid of hide status and everybody peeped at my stats.
-------------
You obviously can’t see actual stats when you use analyze, but they could tell by my low LVL 98 and many skills that I’m not normal.
Some outright cursed in surprise, most were shocked silence, but when I turned on Hide status, I was ready for a Q&A.

But the first one shut everyone up, “How does this show me how you killed Dunga and Weler?”
(“While I was fighting him I had two thousand enemies on me.”)
“Two thousand, so you fought him with a race boost.”
(“Yes, it made it easy.”)
“But what about your titles, Friend of Suvunktah’s, Pride? Puff?”
(“Honestly I don’t even know about the last two.”)
“And your name is Kwezalcoatl, why don’t you just go by that, it’s much easier to call you that then small bird.”
“Shut up Ropooke.”
Panda guy went up to the wall and punched it.
“You’re that much superior when you’re that low LVL.”
(“And I’m only gonna get stronger.”)
“Why I oughta.”
“No Ewsd.”
“He deserves a punch, after saying he killed Unix’s nemesis then he just wants us to accept that he hasn’t found a way to cheat the system.”
(“There’s a way to cheat the system?”)
“Unix, tell them about the, oh.”
She is crying into a pillow.
“Anyway, there are people who have cheated the system, but they usually get killed personally by the one true god.”
(“What is the one true god anyway.”)
“Okay, that’s the last question, the one true god is the one who created everything.”
(“Do you know if he’s real?”)
“I said that was the last question, fine, yes he is real, you have to see him to become a god.”
(“Okay, cool.”)
“Cool, just cool, we’re talking about how you become a god and you just say cool.”
(“Anyway do you want to see how much money I earned.”)
"Are you just going to gloss over that?"
I smile.
“Whatever, get it over with.”
I dump the treasure chest down as well as the grail.
“Is that,” he picks up the grail, “The best booze I’ve ever tasted.”
The grail filled up instantly with adult juice.
He took a sip, then started chugging till it’s all gone.
“That’s the good *Hiccup* stuff.”
“It’s a drink grail, they must have bought that from Last Cameo.”
Unix took the grail, “The strongest booze ever made.”
It appeared with a similar-looking liquid, she took a sip quickly enough for no one to take it away from her.
She passed out, did it give her a sleep tonic.
The blue-haired girl picked her up and took her to her room.
The grail emptied and rolled over to me.
Well, might as well try it, “Root Beer.”
It filled all the way to the top with the bubbly substance.
I took a sip, and low and behold, root beer, it’s actually root beer.
I started chugging without pride, it’s been way too long without it.
“What is that an Earth world drink?”
I drank the rest of it.
“Now how much is in the chest.”
“We’ll have to count it.”

“Urgh, boring.”
(“Well I’m gonna go home, I’m sorry for Unix’s loss, I’ve never been good around crying people, and see you tomorrow, I’m still in the quest right.”)
“Of course you’re still in the quest, why wouldn’t you be.”
(“Great.”)
It’s still close to midnight, but the streets are really busy, probably still people looking for the hole Suvunkilbub made.
“There he is, master.”
“Kwehzalcoatl!”
I turn around, and it’s the people I never wanted to see again.
“It’s been so long, I missed you so much.”
“Okay.”
“I know you’re probably angry that we ran, but I came here to bring you back.”
“I’m not going back.”
“What.”
“Did you think I would just come back if you said so.”
“Well…”
“Your chief told me to leave you alone, so I am.”
“But, we ran all the way here, should we just go back.”
“Yep.”
“I am not going to go back without taking you.”
“You talk like you have a choice in it, you left me so I raised myself.”
He lowered his voice, “Kwehzalcoatl, come with me.”
“What if I say no?”
“Then we’ll fight, do you remember how that went last time.”
“Yeah, and why didn’t you fight the goblins last time, maybe you could have saved mom.”
That through him through a loop.
“He was stronger than me, we were outnumbered, I couldn’t do anything.”
“I’m stronger than you too, I fought with the divine beast and won, do you think you could beat me.”
With that, I walked off.
They started following me, I know without looking because of true vision.
I quickly turn a corner and use flight to go above the building and into another alleyway.
Quickly disappearing, and then I headed home.
Without opening the door, I knew someone was in my house, but it looks like they were waiting and not robbing.
I open the door.
(“What do you want?”)
“Hello, I’m a messenger from the betting rings, I just need to tell you the location has changed to the north of the city, the location that was being prepared so we didn’t have to stay in the sewers.”
It was a woman in her thirties it looked like, she was wearing a full black outfit, kind of like a robber.
(“Sorry I’m new to the betting ring, where is that?”)
“Do you need a guide, if you need we can send someone to you miss Unix at around?”
(“Unix, she’s not here?”)
“I’m sorry, but I need to get to another job after this, so I don’t have enough time for jokes, so please just get rid of your invisibility skill.”
(“I’m not Unix, your in the wrong place lady.”)
“You’re not? But your Chocobo is here.”
(“Just leave, I want to sleep for now.”)
“Okay, sorry didn’t mean to intrude.”
She left through the balcony.
Then I get on the bed and pass out.
When I became conscious I was in the world of the void again.
Wow, what’s it been, twenty-thirty chapters, since I’ve been here.
I then sense with true vision around me, and it’s not pretty.
It’s not ugly either, I can’t sense a thing, which means that there is no ground, no sky, no objects at all.
“Long time no see, what’s it been, three months?”
It was Puff, I can’t sense him, but I can see his outline.
“In four days, yes.”
“Well, you were but a mere fetus, now you could wipe out seventy percent of all entities, not that that’s a bad thing really, but why?”
“First, tell me what you are, are you a god?”
“I’ve been called that.”
“Then are you a powerful god?”
“Stronger than anything you’ve ever seen.”
“Even Suvunkilbub?”
“Even Goustough.”
“Okay, then do you know what my starter skill is?”
“Let us see, your first skill is, hmm, I didn’t see this coming, that’s a little, infuriating.”
“What is.”
“Nothing you have to worry about right now, just keep getting stronger, and you have true vision as well, with both eyes, oh that’s good, you’re smart.”
“It was easier than I thought.”
“Well that’s good, at least that follows my motto.”
“What is it?”
“Anyone can become strong with minimal effort.”
“You mean by killing foes?”
“Yes, it’s easy to take a life isn’t it.”
“Depends if they’re scum or not.”
“Really, hmm, seems like you're not the only one with that opinion, many memory keepers think the same.”
“Well we do go through life with people telling us killing is bad, seeing the impact all over the news of what killers have done, people crying over the loss.”
“Ahh empathy, it’s a rare emotion in this world, though you grew up on Earth it seems you still have a hard time with it.”
“Not really.”
“Then why didn’t you empathize with that girl over her town getting destroyed?”
“You’re watching me?”
“Not all the time, just since you got true vision, nice job by the way.”
“Thanks, is there anything you wanted?”
“You answered the reason behind your power, I’m good, though maybe a goodbye present would be good?”
“Free stuff?”
“Haha no, you’re already too strong, if I gave a gift to everyone I visited then the power balance would go way off, and I already gave you four skills, be grateful.
Sad droopy voice to make him want to give me something, “Okay.”
“Good, now get a good rest, and get stronger.”
I wake up and it’s morning.
Dangit, he didn’t fall for it.

Faeos Book One: The Stuff of Legends
A ragtag assemblage of adventurers, scraped together by seeming circumstance, investigate the theft of an ecologically essential artifact. In so doing, they find themselves embroiled (as adventurers so often do) in the larger machinations of a mischevious gnome, a determined mage or three, and a dire threat to their homes. Based on a homebrew Pathfinder campaign begun several years ago, and still running. Faeos is one part combat, one part character building, and one part entirely justified silliness. Blame any lead character weirdnesses on my players, whom I love. Blame everything else on me. Oh, and yes, this should also be tagged "Unreliable Narrator."
