《Land of Ilragorn》Chapter 32- Battle with a lion

The lioness walks slowly up to me, trotting like a cocky cartoon horse.

I just stand there and use analyze.

Target: Flame Lioness LVL 83 Titles: Abandoned, Undead skills, Small Army Destroyer, Confident

Those titles are weird, and its LVL is lower than mine, not something I'm used to.

I don’t move and wait for it to strike, it obliges.

It put its paw down without looking, thinking it got me when I just stepped to the side.

It looked down, looking confused, but swiped down like a cat on a laser.

I dodge again, faster this time, as they are actually trying to hit this time.

The paw is getting faster, and faster until we probably look like blurs.

Usually, I would’ve finished by now, but its cocky attitude made me want to style on them.

I was dodging, waiting, until I found it, the exact moment where it can’t go any faster.

I was watching it, the paw, going up and down, practically making a crater below me with every strike.

I look at its face, it’s getting annoyed, good.

While I’m watching its paw, I see a shadow at 3 o’clock in my position.

I dodge further back and look, it’s bone, extending out, and attacking where I would’ve dodged too if I didn’t see it.

It’s coming out of… the lioness’ chest, well that’s creepy.

Is it the starter skill in the beginning that I didn’t choose because it was too creepy, and as well as copy entity number sounded way better, it’s probably an evolved version of that.

Well, I’m not judging, but why would you ever choose to manipulate your bones, that just sounds painful.

It goes back in, slowly and with some clicking sounds.

That isn’t pretty, but the lioness still looks fine, just annoyed.

The terrain is destroyed, replaced by different size craters, the dry grass around the crater looks very tall now that I’m below it.

The lioness looks like it’s thinking, but is still on guard, I think it’s my turn.

I ran up towards it, not too fast, but enough to make it panic.

It didn’t, it gave me a look like, ‘Try it, I’ll give you a free shot.’

Cocky lion, I used buff up and punt then jumped up, got in position to do a flying jump kick, then used flight to push me down faster.

It quickly changed from free shot mode to I have to dodge or it will hurt mode.

Instead of dodging, it brought more bones out, then made them come close together to make a makeshift shield.

It’s funeral I guess.

I hit it, but for the first time since the goblin king, it didn’t die, the bone cracked sure, but it didn’t break.

I was caught off guard, but so was the lion, it didn’t react in time, but with my mind acceleration I did, I raise my other leg and kick where the crack is, hit again, and it definitely made the crack bigger, still nowhere near breaking.

It snapped out of it and jumped away, knocking me off its back.

On the way down I noticed it didn’t jump, but it used the bones in its paws to redirect itself.

That must have been a panic option, it’s faster than a jump but won’t go as far.

I rush forward once more to where it lands, more bones come out of the side of its body like spider legs.

It moves exactly like a spider to try to get out of the way, but I rush forward, I fire a pepper breath at her, it didn’t surprise them.

More bones came out from her mouth and made a shield.

Are those, their teeth, it used its teeth as a shield, that has to do some jaw damage.

It bounces off, like a ball.

I get caught off guard, and it takes this opportunity to attack me with more bones.

Her paws extend forward as she’s focusing on her spider-leg bones to balance her out, and bones come out.

They hit me, without pain nullification on, it hurt like dropping a hammer on your toes, but on my stomach, and with a sharp object that for some reason didn’t pierce my skin.

It’s the same way with the knife at the guild, just pushed me.

It looked surprised again, but I’m far away enough that the only way I can take advantage of it is with a flamethrower.

The flames bounce off her hastily made a bone shield, not doing any damage.

I activate pain nullification, and then start to attack again.

We go on for a while, not doing much to each other, each trying to go at some other angle to kill each other, failing, regrouping, then trying again.

I think I may have to start using more skills, it may blow some cover, but it isn’t like they think I’m weak.

I’ll start using the ostriches' instructions, get rid of all of the enemies' senses.

I start with sight, using flamethrower and water gun I make a steam screen.

Next limit their movement, I use the skill beam digging to make random holes under the veil of steam, if they fall in one it’s basically a free kill.

The last sense is hearing, I just have to get close to her ears and use this skill, Booming voice.

I yell in its ear, it jerked back, obviously affected, it fell in one of the holes, it’s my win.

I start with a pepper breath, the steam hasn’t worn off so I hear it definitely hit, but what it doesn’t know is that there is water behind it.

More specifically a tidal wave.

I haven’t used this skill in battle yet, and I’m glad I didn’t, this skill is overpowered, it’s a tier 3 skill, apparently water gun was tier 2, the goblins start with it I guess, and it doesn’t come from me exactly, it comes from a line above me, twenty meters wide, and it flows as far as it can, how is a normal monster going to dodge that.

The huge crater we made is now a lake, but I still haven’t got the kill message.

So I start cooking, heating up the water with inferno, it’s the same thing as tidal wave, except fire doesn’t flow, so it sticks to whatever it lands on and burns until it stops, since it hits the water it evaporates the entire lake.

The entire area fills up with more steam, so I have to use heat vision to see.

Heat vision shows me that it’s still alive.

I’ve used a lot of my tricks on it, but there is that one skill that I’ve never used before.

It probably won’t make much difference because it’s LVL 1, but I can try it.

I go again into the steam-filled air and do my drop-kick.

I hit it, then I activate the skill.

Life Steal Touch.

The effect is small, but you can tell it’s there.

It may be that my INT is so high that all skills related to magic get a boost, or that the lioness DEF is high but not it’s HP, or maybe a bit of both, but we both notice, this skill is letting me win.

I realize that I’m on its bones, not it’s body, but the Life steal is working, I’m getting energy.

The Lioness gets up and pushes me off.

Then it jumps, it makes a drill-like shape with its bones, then intends to land on me.

I quickly use the skill forge and leave spikes around me made of dirt.

More bones quickly come out and stop it from landing.

I continuously use forge to make the spikes again to get longer and shorter.

It hits the bottom of the lion, but the lion left covered itself in bones.

I then enchant the spikes with life steal touch.

I did this on a whim, but it was very effective.

Each spike is enchanted with it, and there are eight spikes, that’s eight times the effectiveness.

And surprisingly all the health is coming back to me.

I thought it would reinforce the spikes, but this is way better.

The lioness quickly jumped away from the spikes and made space between us.

“Why do you have so many.”

That surprised me, almost no one has tried to talk to me while we were fighting.

“What?”

“So many skills, you have so many, must have taken a long time to get them all.”

She starts circling me, not dropping her defense.

“It took long enough, why are you talking?”

“I only have six skills, three of them are resistances, but you have at least ten.”

She has no idea.

“Okay, why are you stalling?”

“Just catch my breath, you react too fast, life is not fair is it.”

“Have you ever thought that about any other thing you killed?”

“Excuse me?”

“Have you ever seen anyone here not affected by luck, I’m extremely lucky, but I could have died in the beginning to a dragon the same age as me, no four weeks younger."

“So, what’s your point?”

“Oh sorry, just thinking how lucky I was, I started with stats of two and three after all.”

“Two and three, I started at fifty and sixty,” she still hasn’t dropped her guard.

“Well, do you want to keep talking, or are you not done preparing?”

“Do you not know what my other skills are?”

“Why would I?”

“It’s a pretty common skill around here.”

“Well, I’m not from around here.”

“Try moving.”

I pick up my leg, or so I thought I would, but I can’t.

I struggle with nothing to show it.

“You really fell for it, you really did, the common skill circle of stun.”

I keep trying to move.

“Of course if you don’t know what that is if you’re not from around here, it’s simple, I walk a circle around you and then you can’t move for a while.”

I try to talk, but nothing comes out.

“Hmm, sorry, I can’t hear out of this ear after you screamed so loud my ancestors could hear it!”

She then slams one of her paws on top of me, making me lay on the ground.

She then takes turns with her paws to slam down on me, then she adds her bones, there isn’t a second in where I’m not getting hit.

It doesn’t hurt, because of pain nullification, which makes me wonder if skills work still or not.

I turn on life steal touch.

Sure enough, I’m getting health, and they’re losing it.

But I’m losing it faster than I gain it.

I saw her eyes change, she noticed too but didn’t look like she was stopping.

I can still use skills, but I don’t want to try to use something that comes exactly from me.

I use tidal wave.

She doesn’t react in time, the giant wave slaps her off me with the impact of getting hit by a bus.

The crater fills up again, me and her in it, but both of us still alive.

Only I still can’t move.

I see her go to the top of the lake, leaving me to drown.

Can I even swim, I’ve never tried.

I finally am able to move again, but to my fears, feathers aren’t optimal for swimming.

I haven’t been breathing, but there is water in my mouth and nose, awful feeling.

Flailing around is usually my strong suit, but this time I can’t seem to go up.

I think of the possible skills I could use, and then I see it, the skill that makes me go up, flight.

I use it and I stop going down.

I quickly rise to the surface and look around.

Nothing at the shore, did it run.

I go further up, only to be pushed down.

It must have seen me going up and jumped on me.

“Drown!”

Sorry, but I think not.

It completely forgot to cover itself in its bones, it jumped on me with its bare skin.

I activate mana manipulation and flamethrower.

A blue beam breaks the sound barrier and goes straight through the lioness.

It died on impact.

"You have killed Flame Lioness Entity #81955725027543815" "You leveled up to LVL 91" "Would you like to use Copy Entity Number LVL 5?"
