《Land of Ilragorn》Chapter 6-Evolution

"Entity has gained over 1000 MP, activating high chocobo evolution line."
"Huh, what is happening, where am I?" Everything around me was dark, the only thing I could see was the text box.
"Evolution path 3: High Adolescent Chocobo (Requirements: Live 3 months, have over 1000 MP.)"
"Evolution path 4: High Adolesent Kweh (High chubby chocobo.) (Live 3 months, eat 3 times your weight regularly, have over 1000 MP.)"
"What the heck does that mean? Wait, do I have over 1000 MP!?!?! How, I didn't kill anything."
"W___ _p!"
"Now what the heck was that."
"Wake up!"
"Is that the gray filolial, what does she mean wake up, am I asleep?"
"That won't work against lazy vermin, here watch this."
Suddenly I felt wet all over, then I blinked and could see all around me.
I am in the same hut I rested in the filolial village, why am I here.
Three big birds are staring at me, mom, gray filolial, and the chief.
"How do you feel?"
"Confused and wet."
"Thank Ilragorn your not injured."
"How did we get here."
"No idea."
"That is what I want to know, how did you appear in this hut?"
"Appear?"
"Yes appear, you made me walk all the way to you vermins nesting area, then you were not even there, then I came back and hear you were found unconscious in this hut, how did you get past this villages guards?"
I take my thoughts back to what happened, I could barely remember, maybe its my baby memory, but I remember my saviour, "Suvunkilbub saved us."
They all look at me in surprise and shock, "What do you mean?"
Oh yeah, she was asleep, "After you did... after you went... after your transformation or whatever it was you fainted, but you had generated enough noise to attract some dino--Dragons, and I hid us, but my wing trailed blood all the way to our hiding spot, one of the dragons nearly found us, but suvunkilbub killed them all with a beam of light, after that she healed my wing (I put my wing up for demonstration) and it looked like she healed you to mom."
She fell backwards not knowing what to say.
Then the chief threw something at me.
"What the heck was that for."
"For our guardian deity to save you means that your potential has been realized by her, did she give you a name?
"Kwehzalcoatl."
"She labeled you to say that she found you first so back off to the other Divine beasts."
That didn't bother me much, that means I got a powerful ally right, "That doesn't explain why you threw it at me."
"You have her mark so the divine beasts, or their chosen, that see her as a enemy will actively search you out.
"How many enemies does she have?"
"She can't talk so she has made a lot of misunderstandings."
Wait, she can talk, I have to use mind acceleration to talk to her though, I guess that's not a common skill.

"Look inside the container that I threw at you."
It's a container? It looks like a... Woven basket.
I open it, and the three things I asked for were there, all five pills, the claw equips, and the thing I asked to be made.
"About time."
"Just like vermin, I expect a thank you, and then I get that, why do I even try."
I eat one of the pills.
"Foul resistance LVL 1 leveled up to LVL 2." "You ate a Skill LVL up pill... Looking for exceptions... You can not LVL up starter skill Copy Entity Number, choose another skill"
Yuck, that was the most disgusting thing I have ever ate.
"You want to level up foul resistance... Yes or No?"
No! Ummm level up magic armor.
"You want to level up Magic Armor... Yes or No?"
Yes.
"Magic Armor LVL 4 leveled up to LVL 5, it now has more armor space and has gained more resistances."
I activate magic armor, the upgrade changed colors to having black as the main color and having red decal flames, also the armor covers my entire stomach and back and the top of my head.
I'm becoming edgier by the day.
I almost instinctively ate another one, but I stopped myself, the taste is horrendous, I have to brace myself before eating one.
Maybe two of them at the same time might taste worse, but won't last as long.
"Foul resistance LVL 2 leveled up to LVL 4." "You ate 2 Skill LVL up pill... Looking for exceptions... You can not LVL up starter skill Copy Entity Number LVL 2, choose another skill"
I barfed.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA serves you right."
"You want to level up foul resistance... Yes or No?"
I give the chief a dirty look and thought no analyze.
"You want to level up Analyze... Yes or No?"
Yes.
"Analyze LVL 2 leveled up to LVL 4."
I can't eat any more of them, I feel like I will die if I eat another pill, then I remember moms words '...don't get too strong, a mother is meant to protect a child, not the otherway around, so please let me protect you for at least a little longer.'
"Hey mom, you didn't want me to get too strong right, you should have the rest."
She didn't look ecstatic, "I'm touched you remember, but they are your rewards you should eat them all."
"You would refuse a gift from your wonderful son? What are you scared your stomach can't take the pills."
"Just give me the pills, my stomach is like iron, I can take a couple pills."
She puked.
"You see vermin don't hesitate to betray each other," he whispers to the gray filolial.
Mom and me both give the chief a dirty look.
I pull out the claw equips, they look too big, but when I put my foot in it tightened to fit my foot.
Now the final thing I requested, I unfold a piece of paper to find... a bunch of scribbles.
"What is this?"
"What you requested."
"This is a map, okay where is my mom's nesting area."

She looks at it and is immeadiately confused.
"We gave you what you wanted now sacred duel my grandson."
"What will I get."
"Bragging rights."
"Then no."
"Why you little..."
A teal filolial bursts in, "Sir Chief."
"What is it, I'm in the middle of something."
"Your grandson has evolved into a variant."
Gray filolial and the chief both take their attention off of me and start dashing out the door.
"What's a variant?"
"It's a rare evolution away from the main line, very few get one, I hear it is added to your line while you sleep."
Oh yeah I need to ask about high Chocobos, I'll ask later, right now I want to see little brats evolution.
"Let's go see."
We walk out to find the whole village in front of the stand the chief was on during the dinner, the chief, gray filolial, and a third filolial, which I assume is the little brat, who was always bigger than me, but is now way bigger than me.
He saw me over the crowd and yelled.
"Hey Kwehzalcoatl, duel me, I want to see how much stronger I am."
He jumped over to me, but made no sound.
I get a good look at him and he had the head shape and feather structure of an owl, but still had a filolialbody.
I wanted to test out my new magic armor anyway.
"Same place."
"No, right here."
"Getting confident are we."
"No, I just don't need trees to hide myself anymore."
"We'll see."
"Your opponent is Assassin Filolial (LVL hidden for sacred duel)" "Demand: None" "Opponent wanting none automatically set your demand to none."
Assassin huh, not a owl? Wonder if owls have a weird name here too.
"Starting sacred duel in 5...4...3..2...1... START!!!"
He started running at about my full speed, I started running to catch up to him, but he started running faster.
I had my full attention on him, and then I didn't, he just dissappeared without a trace, I had to stop and let him run around me to be able to detect him, we are in an open field, the grass should move when he runs.
He did exactly what I had taught him and started jumping in random directions, and with his new feathers I couldn't even hear him.
I activate magic armor so that he can't hit my vitals and put me out immeadiately.
He appears behind me,"Wow, so I've scared you enough to bring out your trump card immeadiately."
I swing my wing back, it missed, but I realized it probably wouldn't do much anyway, it isn't as strong as a human fist would have been.
My back is hit and I go forward a couple feet, still stay standing though, looks like my defense is higher than his attack.
I can't see him though so I can't attack. I get hit in the back twice, both dealing knockback with no damage.
If he hits me in the back again I will use crushing beak behind me randomly until I hit him.
Three hits in the back. I wait five seconds and activate crushing beak and bite down on air. Miss, miss, hit, third times the charm.
He can't take the pain and loses focus of his invisibility.
He backs up, probably gained pain resistance from me thrashing him.
I hit the tip of his wing, so he still has his mobility.
I run up to him to catch him before he turns invisible, but he kicks me, and turns invisible anyway.
It still looks like I'm going to win, I've taken no serious hits, but one of his bones has to be crushed from my beak, eventually I will win.
30 minutes later...
He keeps hitting my back and is now wary of me so he dodges every single attack I throw behind me.
I haven't hit him and he hasn't hit me hard enough.
I can see him again now, from what I can tell invisibility doesn't take much MP but he has been going for more than thirty minutes.
My magic armor dissappears.
Well, now we're both naked.
"Kwehzalcoatl, we both lost the one thing that could guarantee us victory, we both are tired from our long fight, we both are out of MP, lets end this with this last charge, what do you say?"
A speech, how cliche, still, we need a sure winner, "You're on."
We run at each other as fast as we can, I already expect it so I wait till I can't see him and turn around with crushing beak.
My attack hits to what feels like the bottom of his neck.
But his knee hit my gut, and it hurts like hell, wait is hell even a place here, maybe I'll ask later.
We both fall down on our sides about two feet away from each other.
"Sacred duel finished in unintentional tie." "Gained 140 EXP" "You have become LVL 11."
"I guess we tie?"
"How?"
"How what?"
"How do you know about my skill to go behind you while I'm invisible. How did you cheat."
"Don't spam you noob."
"What does that mean."
"Spamming is doing the same thing over and over again and noob is an insult."
We sat their for a minute so I could gain MP back.
I healed him and had to wait a while to heal my gut.
I said goodbye to the filolials who said goodbye to me and mom and I were walking towards the nest.
"Mom, how do I know if I have a variant evolution."
"It will show up as High Chocobo in your evolution path and will be changed according to your stats or how much you rely on a skill."
"So because... my opponent relied on his invisibility he became an assassin filolial,"
"Exactly."
We get to the nest and a big bird with dark feathers is sitting in my sleeping spot.
"Well how long have you been here."
He turns around and says with a dreamy look on his face, "Just got here."

Braindead - A Zombie LitRPG
In a world where zombies are trash mobs that children kill for easy exp, what hope does one little zed have? Zed was minding his own business when his master's domain was invaded by a plucky young heroine looking to make a name for herself. An unlikely turn of events allowed Zed to come out on top, and gave him enough experience to rise above the life of a mindless minion. Unfortunately, it also left him with no body to share it with... literally, not figuratively! This story contains: Some 'jokes' containing questionable humour. An inhuman MC who has no interest in pesky things like romance or growing a conscience. Blue boxes, and a DnD style system messily mashed together with several other systems. Gore, but nothing too gratuitous. The main character is a severed head so what do you expect? Kingdom/base building, because what good is a zombie without a good horde behind them. Releases planned for each Sunday until I build up a decent backlog.

The Yes-Mage
Plenty of people have stopped and asked what it'd be like to simply have everything, and Sylvain Henry Camille Johansson was no different. He was a man who had a lot of things going on, with a name that'd make a supervillain blush and a family who'd make even the useless of their rank into someone important. It was a shame, then, that he was slapped with a dreadfully unfortunate condition that kept him from living up to any of those already low expectations. Stuck living a life where magic is everywhere while he's left working with nothing more than a moderate intellect, a little bit of whatever influence he could get from his family, and a lifetime's practice at making himself the ideal subordinate for his bosses' boss, Vane was still beating the odds and slowly working his way up in the world. When the cunning yes-man finally got a chance to really make a name for himself, he leapt at the offer, taking his first real step onto a road he knew he was always meant to walk. His goal? Nothing less than finding out why he and too many other unfortunate souls are barred from the wonderful world of the higher energies, and with any luck, fixing it. Of course, life has a knack for interfering in even the humblest of plans, and Vane's lofty ideals were anything but humble; he was practically a walking bullseye for disaster. The funny thing about catastrophe, though, is that nobody can ever say what form it's going to take. That’s why, when it all went wrong for Vane, he'd gotten everything he'd ever wanted foisted onto him, and Everything else, too. Watch as a man so used to saying 'yes' to everyone above him finds himself stuck with the power to make reality itself say it back.

A Nerd's Wet Dream Come True (Tossing an OC into Marvel)
John was an average man. At least that's what he tells himself at night. He lived in a rented apartment in the decent district, a well-paying job, and more student debt than he cared to think about being steadily paid off. Yet he was absolutely miserable. He spent his days living like a zombie, a slave in all but name to corporate. His only joy these days it seems was reading comics and writing fanfics. SI ones. Choke full of power fantasies and large harems. Yeah, even he had to admit he was a loser. His only redeeming feature seemed to be his photographic memory and the library's worth of comics and books he has read. Yet, when fate took pity on him and had John transported into the Marvel Universe, he was only all too happy to oblige. A second chance to make something of himself. Is he going to finally have the comfortable life he wanted? Will he laze away relying on his past life's knowledge or does he want more this time? Will his ambition and hard work lead to sweet fruits, or will it rot away in the darkness hiding beneath the colorful costumes of the hero's society? Now with crossovers! Be warned if you don't like to see OCs messing up the timeline or DC and other stuff showing up. I swear I'm not randomly adding stuff and there is a legitimate (as far as comic books and fanfics can be) plot reason why. (I'll be honest, I don't know "cannon" marvel really... I watched some movies and animated series as a kid, but I haven't picked up a comic in years. This is just some light-hearted and casual writing for fun. If there are any errors or something you think would be cool please let me know.) I'm also trying to have multiple main characters so that might be jarring for some people while I switch perspective. Sorry in advance, I'm new at this and idk what I'm doing, advice and feedback gladly welcomed!
